Great store but parking is a pain in the butt. I parked three blocks away. I was looking for a pouch for my phone that attaches to my backpack. I wish I can buy every backpack available but it's wishful thinking. I own one messenger bag and a backpack. All covered under lifetime warranty and made in the USA.

Really dig their bags here, the construction of the bags are made really well. I heard about this place from my friends who owns the bags and swears by them. So I ended up checking them out myself when I got to SF. Really nice people and great service here. The location is just about a block off the Bart Station. As for the store itself, it looks like a cross between REI and Timberland with that nature, woodsy feel. For the bags in stock, they didn't have all the selection at the store but we were advised we can order on their on-line store. Though the bags retail around $200, they are well made.

UPDATE - 3 YEARS LATER (04/07/2017) - It's been a 3 years since I purchased my Rambler and, I can't believe I'm saying this, I'M STILL USING THE DAMN THING! I really didn't expect to still be in love with my bag YEARS later. I rotate through bags like daily coffee. 3 years later and the bag is still PERFECT and is still my daily driver. Whether I'm commuting around the city on my bike or hopping on a plane on business trips - my Rambler goes with me EVERYWHERE. I previously mentioned how impressed I was with their customer service. When I didn't think it could get any better - I paid a visit to their (now) storefront and was greeted by Jared. Jared blew me out of the damn water. I'm a pretty solid critic when it comes to products and a stickler with customer service. I can say that Jared and the folks and products of Mission Workshop have far surpassed any expectations. If you are on the fence about ANY Mission Workshop products, do yourselves a favor and bite the bullet and go for it. YOU WILL NOT REGRET the quality you're getting and the customer service you'll receive. Mission Workshop - You have an asset with Jared joining the team. I don't say that lightly. THANK YOU SO MUCH, JARED & THE MISSION WORKSHOP CREW!!! ____________________________________________________________ After having my bag for a few weeks now, I wanted to wait a bit before writing a review on, not only product, but customer service. So, here we go... CUSTOMER SERVICE: Let me start off by saying: I'm a bag-whore. I don't know why it is, but my affinity for bags is like a crackhead's need to snort. I started off just THINKING about a Mission Workshop bag, literally, about a year ago. I've spent HOURS online doing competitive analysis and price comparisons. HOLY FUCK, $200+ FOR A BAG?! THE HELL?! Not going to lie, the price tag was a major setback...MAJOR. With that said, I realized their flagship shop was walking distance from my place so I stopped in...for the first time out of MANY, MANY, MANY visits. When I walked in, I was greeted by some really kind guys that let me ask every question under the sun and try on ALL THE BAGS...each and every one...one at a time. I went through this ritual of walking to the shop, going in, asking questions & trying on every bag about 2-3x's a month FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. (Anal much)? After the 3rd visit, or so, some of them started to recognize my face...and they STILL smiled at me & were VERY kind to me. 5 STARS for their patience and CS. THE PRODUCT: After many days of comparing several of bags and narrowing it down to 3 of their own bags (Chrome was out of the picture for backpacks [although, i do love the messenger I have of theirs], and SF Freight Baggage were out of the running), I narrowed it down to the MW Arikiv R6 modular bag, Vandal, and Rambler. I spent 2 more visits building my dream, frontrunner, Arkiv R6 bag. That thing comes with a hefty price tag for all the modules I wanted...almost $600! Definite setback. I did more research and realized the Rambler (seemingly smallest of the 3 aforementioned) actually expands to MORE THAN the $600 bag. BACK IN TO THE SHOP I WENT. I tried on the Rambler & Vandal. (let me say, if i were a taller person, I'd go for the bigger Vandal. THAT THING CAN EXPAND TO HOLD THE UNIVERSE! sadly, i'm only 5'0" so that size of a bag, even at its compressed state, didn't feel comfortable and was too big.) So, I put the Rambler on and IT FIT PERFECTLY. I was a little worried that I would lose out on all of the storage space of the Vandal, but had to go with what was more comfortable. After using my bag for a few weeks, I can say - I AM NOT MISSING OUT ON ANYTHING. I was able to fit a 20lb bag of dog food, coffee, a soup pot, various ingredients for the soup, my 15" laptop & accessories WITH ROOM TO SPARE! The only thing I'd add, if possible, were some inside organizational compartments (for pens and things like that.) Otherwise, NO COMPLAINTS. As a recap: - I bought the smallest of the 3 aforementioned backpacks (Rambler) - expands to 42L (bigger than the Arkiv R6 modular bag) - construction of the bag is AMAZING. - CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AMAZING. I won't be looking for another bag anytime soon...and that's saying a lot from a self-proclaimed bag whore. Sure, the price tag is a bit steep, but after owning the bag, I have no regrets for what I paid and I'm sure you won't either. 3.5 I was attracted to this store because of the aesthetics of its interior. It was neatly displayed and there was plenty of room to move around. There wasn't a lot of selections for size smalls when I went which made it difficult for me to find ones that I wanted to get. The customer service here was great! They acknowledged us and asked if we needed our help. If you're looking for some lightweight gear, this is the best place for you!

15l acre hauser is my go to back pack for hiking, bikepacking, travel,...everything. Great support and just enough room. Highly recommend!

I picked up the Rambler backpack and my only regret is I didn't get the Vandal (a bigger version of the Rambler).

I spent multiple hours trying new boots on and the staff was patient with me, giving helpful advice for which one to potentially select. All of the staff I've encountered here have been very knowledgeable and are all experienced hikers/climbers from what I can tell. When it gets more crowded in the store it can sometimes be a bit hard to flag down a member, but once you're able to see them they are usually pretty helpful. The store also has a wide variety of equipment, and I feel fortunate that I live near one that's not far away. If you're looking for camping/hiking supplies, then this is the place to be as they usually have anything you might be looking for. Great store and brand, also love the return policy!
