    9C. Massaman Curry
    Chup K.

First off, it smelled strongly of urine in the restaurant. Probably should've taken that as a sign. The egg rolls were good, but the Massaman curry was the worst I've ever had (and I've had a lot). It was not sweet like it typically is, but was really sour. The waitress was sweet but not attentive so couldn't even send it back. The flavor of the pork belly fried rice was really good, but the pork belly pieces themselves were so chewy they couldn't be eaten. It was pretty worn down inside and needed a good cleaning. I wouldn't bring anyone there to eat, maybe you could get take out but don't get curry! Portions were large though.

Service was decent, food came out quickly. My favorite is the pork belly fried rice, it has the nice smokey flavor and the pork belly is crisp.

The red curry is great. A friend has recommended for me to try Laab or Larb and so I did. The fish sauce is definitely an acquired taste but over all I liked the laab served here. The appearance could use some work such as walls could use new paint, some cleaning near the floors on the walls, and reupholster some cusions. But otherwise the aesthetic would be nice.

I was on the lookout for the best fried rice in the Twin Cities and I've found it! I've heard great reviews about their fried rice before so I had to try it for myself. Went to this restaurant a week ago and am ready to go back already! I ordered their Crispy Pork Belly Fried Rice and the flavors blew me away!! The pork belly was crispy and the fried rice, just wow (honestly lost for word because of how great it was). I would highly recommend this or their Thai Holy Basil Fried Rice. The service was slightly slow but understandable due to how busy they were. The food definitely made up for the slow service. The bathroom is located downstairs (unisex). Decent size and well maintained. Well stocked on toilet paper, paper towel and hand soap! Cannot wait to go back there!

Great services an amazing food . The egg rolls were steaming hot with great flavor and the cream cheese wontons were thick and creamy . The Pho had a great flavor but my favorite was the pineapple curry chicken it was tasty . Will definitely be back sooner than later

We loved it. We started with the Thai Spring roll, fresh and tasty. The red curry was delicious and my wife's cashew & vegetable stir-fry with tofu was super tasty in its simplicity. The service was very attentive and the place had small and family operated all over it. We really liked it. Thank you, Eastside!!!

I've been here many times because it's near my workplace and overall think it's good but definitely not the best Thai food in the Twin Cities. Although I like the papaya salad (both Thai and Lao style), lately I've been finding it inconsistent. The appetizers like the papaya salad and egg rolls are pricey compared to other places but I like the fish curry the most and chicken pad thai (although it's not sweet, sour and salty like traditional pad thai should be)- the pad thai is more like just oily fried noodles). Another downside is that rice is not included in some dishes like the curry and laab so you'll have to order if separately if you want it. I say don't bother ordering any of the drinks like the Thai iced tea and tri-color dessert because they're usually watery. TIP- They have a mini parking lot in the back, which usually isnt full, otherwise there is street parking. There is also a gender neutral bathroom but it's downstairs and kind of creepy.

First time at Eastside Thai and it wasn't bad. There are so many Thai restaurants to choose from so I chose to come here to try it since reviews were seem good. I wasn't the most impressed by the quality of the food. Taste was there in the drunken noodles, but I could tell it wasn't the best quality. Maybe I would come back to try their pad Thai or their other dishes. Their prices were average but I've been to cheaper restaurants with better food too. Thai tea wasn't good, watered down and you only get a small cup. Don't waste time and money on it. Their staff was extremely patient with my friend's strict diet and were super accommodating. Usually you don't see service like that at some Asian restaurants. Overall, not terrible but not amazing.

I was anxious to return to this restaurant after a year since my last visit. I ordered a simple dish of Chinese broccoli and crispy pork belly. The food itself was delicious and I was enjoying it right up on the point I found the hair in my mouth from the last bite I had taken. My server was apologetic enough and took the meal off of the tab. But it was the intestinal distress I suffered approximately an hour and a half later that prompted this review. The combination of the hair and the diarrhea screams dirty kitchen and I will not be back

Super delicious, love both their curries and their noodle dishes. Have had both eat in and take out, and food was ready quickly all times.

I've ordered from On's dozens of times and they honestly deserved this review a lot sooner…read more Everything I've ever eaten from On's is authentic, delicious and bursting with flavor. I've tried numerous menu items, including their Laab, Pad-ga-pow, mango salad, pineapple curry, pad Thai and Prik Prik Moo Grop. There's another dish I've tried there that seems it's no longer on their menu but it was a curry seafood dish served in an actual coconut. It was amazing! My favorites so far are the mango salad and pad Thai. The #70 Moo Grop dish is a close one for top picks but my only complaint is the pork chunks weren't my preferred texture. The sauce, however, is a show stealer. I could literally drink it! It's that good. I've personally never had a negative eating experience with Ons but my husband did complain to me about their pineapple curry. He orders his food at the spiciest level, and I only ever tried a bite of his, but he thought it was very sour and tasted pickely. It was not the best curry I've had but I didn't think it was bad. I'm a seasoned Thai food eater - it's basically all I eat. So I've tried all of the Thai spots in the twin cities. On's is sitting in my top two. I've never eaten inside the restaurant so I can't say much for the service, but I have been in the restaurant to pick up orders and there isn't much to say for its ambiance. It's a very casual setting. My only complaint about Ons is that they serve their curry in shallow containers which makes for smaller portions. If they served their curry in soup containers and gave larger portions, they'd be my go-to spot every time. Right now, my other favorite Thai spot has them beat on curry portions. But that doesn't stop me from coming back for other menu items.

When I drove by, I wasn't sure if they were open because it was so dark inside and we didn't see an open sign. I tried the spring rolls, pad see ew and the order of the wontons. I absolutely LOVED the spring rolls. They tasted fresh, and I enjoyed the basil in them. When I come back this is a must for me. The wontons were good and spiced well, but not my favorite out there. The main dish, pad see ew, got a lot of compliments so we went with that dish. I really enjoyed that as well - flavors of basil and ginger paired well with the thick noodles and veggies. I added chicken for $2 and I thought there was a generous potion of protein added for that amount. Was enough for me and my partner to share and had some leftover. Overall, great experience and we will be back.

We went there before they closed down for renovation…read more Stuffed tofu is definitely my favorite item out of everything on their menu. It was crisp and vegetables inside felt fresh. The sauce that came with it is also a perfect pairing to the dish. The 4 pieces really fill you up so definitely good for its price. Portions are definitely good at this restaurant and you can easily find street parking in the neighborhood behind. Mohinga was okay. It was behind the first two times I came here. The fish cake in Mohinga was tasty as well as the fried peas. The boat noodle has very rich flavor. Broth was good and they gave generous amount of bean sprouts. La Phat Ye was good. They normally don't offer iced but we asked them to change. Overall, it's a great restaurant with decent prices and we hope that we can get back into business ASAP.

I feel blessed to say that one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in the United States is…read moreliterally right here in the Twin Cities, because the food here is heavenly to the point of me consistently returning despite living far from the establishment. In terms of food, there is a mixture of Burmese, Thai, and Karen dishes, and each one that my friends and I have ordered has been a hit. The tea leaf salad has amazing texture because of peanuts and fried garlic, which provide crunchiness, and has amazing flavor because of lemon juice, fish sauce, and tomatoes. The noodle salad has a light taste without adding the given lime piece, and then the rich nutty taste gets evoked and elevated upon adding lime juice. The zaap crispy has very well-seasoned fried chicken pieces, and medium spice level gives it a good amount of flavor. The shan khao soi is so creamy and tasty that even tasting the curry broth itself is a sensational experience, and the chicken leg included literally has "fall off the bone" meat. The boat noodle has a mixture of sweetness and savor, while the sweet flavor does not overpower anything at all. Finally, the mohinga clearly has fish cake flavor and texture fully infused, making it authentically delicious. We also ordered the knyaw iced salad, which was a mixture of ice along with crackers and other types of sweet ingredients. I thought it was very similar to a type of Vietnamese dessert called chè ba màu (three color pudding), and fully enjoyed it. The establishment only had one dessert, and I thought that was sufficient. While the street contains many excellent restaurants, I personally believe that this establishment stands out in terms of taste. I must also mention that since my friends and I arrived when barely anyone else was there each time we had gone there, we never experienced any service delays that some have mentioned in their reviews. I probably will give this place a 5 rating anyway even if I experience slowness, although I hope I don't.
