Incompetent and predatory. They swore up and down that this was a reliable car, and would pass inspection for at least a year, probably 2 or 3. It failed less than 6 months later, because of the tires, which I had specifically pointed out. They lied to my face about them being in good condition, and when I brought it up, they said that the *paperwork* said that it wouldn't pass inspection, despite their repeated verbal claims. I also negotiated the price ahead of time. The entire office was *pissed.* When I got there, they clearly thought I was someone they could take advantage of. The woman handling the financing was freaking out, with her boss storming around behind her. They would not let me speak to the owner.

I now have an upcoming bill of over 5K to fix the problem that was there at the time of the sale. I am pretty miffed and will share my thoughts with them directly, but needed to warn others to be careful about TSBs with Subarus... they aren't recalls, but they are coverage under warrantees if the vehicle is technically still eligible. Mine was--just before I drove it off the lot-- so it should have been handled before the sale, to assure that it was within good business practice!

I scheduled my appointment with Brittany who patiently listened & documented my requests. She helped me to find the correct replacement tires to suit my needs, and ensured the correct date and time of my appointment. Her communication skills were very professional; she effortlessly repelled all distractions and offered me her attention which allowed for me to walk away with confidence that my appointment would address my requests. The day of the service provided a faster turnaround than I had expected; they had my Tacoma on the lift quickly, the mechanic made sure to communicate during and after the service of the progress and findings, and the overall end costs were well below what I was anticipating. Once again, Routhier Auto Center delivered upon my expectations with ease! My drive home from their center is always smooth and satisfying, and I will always boast to have an awesome auto center that takes great care of me and my truck!

Do not purchase a used car from Routhier Auto Center…read more I waited over a year to write this because I genuinely felt uncomfortable speaking up, but my experience was awful from start to finish. I bought a Subaru Forester from them that was presented as being in solid condition, with no rust. Within a few months, it failed inspection due to significant frame rust. This wasn't minor wear, it was serious enough to fail state inspection, which makes me question how honest they were being at the time of sale. I ended up taking a huge loss on the purchase. Beyond the condition of the car, the buying experience itself was unpleasant. I felt talked down to and patronized throughout the process. The salesperson, who may have been the owner, also made unsolicited pro-MAGA political comments that made the environment even more uncomfortable and unprofessional. Looking back, I regret not trusting my instincts and walking away. I would strongly encourage others, especially women and people of color, to be cautious and consider taking their business elsewhere.

Upon closer inspection we found that not only did 2 rear brake calipers and 4 brake pads need to be swapped(the rear brakes barely had any pad left), but there were 2 large bends in the frame below. See photos below. Trying to come to terms with this problem, I decided to just pay close attention to the car on the road and to move on. Just 10 days later the car stalls on me and starts making loud knocking noises. I pull over, check the oil (fine) and go home in frustration to deal with getting it towed the next day. Fast forward two days, the car is on a lift, sub-frame removed to inspect the crankshaft and lower parts of the engine and I'm now being told I'm better off buying a new engine. Two weeks in, I'm going to have spent thousands on a car that I've put less than 300 miles on. I understand used cars are used cars, but I figured I'd reach out to see if Walker could offer any assistance given the unfortunate circumstance I'm now placed in. After finally managing to get someone to speak with me, I've been told they'll do nothing because it worked when they had it. I was even told initially that the undercarriage is in good condition. Did they not see the massive problems with the frame? I thought buying a Mazda from a Mazda dealership would imply the vehicle would leave the lot with brakes and last. Very dissatisfied, would not recommend!

I have the Turbo Diesel Golf which is an unusual car up here due to its lack of availability in Vermont. When looking for a good place to service my car I inquired with other Volkswagen diesel owners in VT and they all said that Walker is the best. I was surprised that a dealer was everyone's top choice but now I know why. Initially I was shocked at the way in which the service people communicated with me. Totally down to earth demeanor with a clear desire to understand what is going with your vehicle. No questions are stupid questions here. These guys are patient like VW Saints. Seriously. You're never made to feel like you're wasting their time. (They're all great guys but Terry is especially fabulous). The other tremendous thing about Walker's service department is the practicality with which they treat the repairs. The outrageous estimates I used to get at other places are consistently countered with more cost-effective solutions at Walker. I love "Erma" (yes I named my Golf) and Walker keeps her driving and thriving.

Came for a U-Haul, left with nothing…read more While scheduling a U-Haul, I was told that the only 20' truck near me would be at The Auto Clinic in Barre, VT on the morning I requested. I wasn't looking forward to driving an hour for a truck, but it was what it was, so I confirmed the reservation. Thirty six hours prior to pickup I called The Auto Clinic and we agreed I'd show up early, and all was well. I showed up at the time in question and they were closed. There was a sign on the door stating that they had to close early the previous day and that they'd be back later that morning. No call to me to let me know, no change in reservations. I called U-Haul and they canceled The Auto Clinic reservation and sent me on a spiritual journey of personal discovery (and an extra three hours on the road) to get a lone, mythical 20' truck. Look. I get that emergencies happen. Life happens. I don't fault them for having to close early. But if that's the case, you have to do one of the following: 1) Get in touch with U-Haul to let them know things have changed, so that they can reschedule with the customer. 2) Get in touch with the customer to let them know things have changed, so that the customer knows to come in at a later time or change the reservation on their own. Certainly there's someone at The Auto Clinic who could've done that. They did neither, and it started a cascade that lost us an entire day of moving. It's not the end of the world: all is well and everyone's got their health. But boy were we furious, and boy will we not use these folks for U-Haul again.
