December 9, 2024 G K Auto Detailing…read more(Gregory Kelley, owner) 963 E. Barre Road East Barre, VT 05649 802-522-0181 A recent visit was made to G K Auto Detailing in East Barre, VT... near the roundabout off the 302 in Vermont... (be careful, you will miss the narrow driveway...) Once there... Greg will contact you... describe the procedure... and take the keys and your vehicle into his shop... You (hopefully) have a friend/significant other to drive another vehicle to wait nearly two hours while this gentleman does his artwork... Outside his business, one can see a smoke-belching chimney on a cold wintry day... inside the workplace, I can imagine a blazing pot-belly stove creating interior balmy temperatures... There, an endless supply of freshly-made buttermilk flapjacks are being slung onto stately and shiny glass plates... completely drenched in maple syrup (from Vermont!), feeding his hungry customers... while they wait for their vehicles... (Not...) Mr Kelley is professional, thorough, warm, down-to-earth and pleasant to speak with... He details exactly what his work entails... what materials he utilizes... His work is top notch... his prices are more than fair... (He was recommended by the Vermont Quick Lube people in Barre)... It is easy to see why... both of these businesses exude "service with a smile"... Back to G K Auto Detailing... Greg completely undercoated my two vehicles with a protective surface against loose road salt and other contaminants... I want my vehicles to last quite a while... This will now be a yearly renewal process... and Mr Kelley will be tasked to do precisely this... Additionally, in just several short weeks, I will employ Greg with detailing the exterior and interior of my vehicles... I want his attention and expert energies directed exclusively to my vehicles... I must say the following: He is not a detailer... He is an artist... Keep this mind when you see him to work on your vehicles... No blueberry pancakes to have prepared for you during your wait... which is too unfortunate... they would probably be just as good as his work...

Well I'm writing this taking time out of my day because it's been a few days and my car is running worse now than ever before. I swear my car was running better before I took it to this place. Just be careful and think twice. I wish I had. Now I'm out money and my car is running like shit.

They were kind, quick, and efficient and was able to get me in and out In time for me to make it to work! Incompetent and predatory. They swore up and down that this was a reliable car, and would pass inspection for at least a year, probably 2 or 3. It failed less than 6 months later, because of the tires, which I had specifically pointed out. They lied to my face about them being in good condition, and when I brought it up, they said that the *paperwork* said that it wouldn't pass inspection, despite their repeated verbal claims. I also negotiated the price ahead of time. The entire office was *pissed.* When I got there, they clearly thought I was someone they could take advantage of. The woman handling the financing was freaking out, with her boss storming around behind her. They would not let me speak to the owner.

I now have an upcoming bill of over 5K to fix the problem that was there at the time of the sale. I am pretty miffed and will share my thoughts with them directly, but needed to warn others to be careful about TSBs with Subarus... they aren't recalls, but they are coverage under warrantees if the vehicle is technically still eligible. Mine was--just before I drove it off the lot-- so it should have been handled before the sale, to assure that it was within good business practice!

Jeremy, the sales person, was rude, swore at me and told me I bought a car AS-IS and they won't do anything to help.....I DID NOT BUY A CAR WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON!!!!! They must have turned the light off so they could sell it. I also emailed the owner three times (only form of contact I have) and he (Brad) never wrote back to me. I asked for $700 to pay for a diagnosis fee ($330 from BMW) and my travel and time off work. They were not even willing to give me $700 for something that could possibly cost me thousands. They did offer to buy the car back from me, but I want the car, I just want it to not cost me thousands. Jeremey said "bring it back and I will sell it to the guy that was here the day you bought it".....SO THEY ARE WILLING TO LIE TO CUSTOMERS TO SELL CARS!!!! He would sell it to this other guy with the light still on. This is terrible business!!! If anyone knows a way I can take further action, I would love to know. Thanks!! They ordered the snow tires immediately and installed them Saturday morning. While installing the new tires they noticed I had 2 all season tires that needed to be trashed. When paying, I was asked to rewrite my check to make it out directly to the owner and not the business itself. I made a light, offhand comment about it being a little unusual, but I was clear that it wasn't a problem--I immediately paid in full and left a generous tip. Later that day, the owner called me and spoke to me in a very aggressive and hostile manner, questioning whether I had an issue with how he runs his business. The tone of the call felt confrontational and unprofessional, and it left me feeling uneasy and very shaken. Regardless of any misunderstanding, I don't believe that kind of reaction toward a customer is appropriate. Because of that interaction, I would not feel comfortable returning.
