Not sure why folks leaving bad reviews have so many bad things to say about the service department, but good service has been my experience, although all I usually have done is scheduled service on a relatively new car. Folks driving in beaters with 200,000 miles are having more problems than a bad service department, and should look closely at what they are asking 802Toyota to do. Independent mechanics are often a better choice for basket case cars.

Heres a small list of shady shit that happened while buying our recent car: While checking what was available, he intentionally skipped over cars that fit our criteria to show us more expensive cars. Only showing us the cheaper one when I specifically made him scroll up and show it to us. They mislead us on who we were getting our car loan through. They specified they worked with our bank all the time, and yet we got a loan from toyota. They told us the car we were purchasing didnt have a warranty AFTER we started the buying paperwork. Wouldnt have been a problem if not for the fact that the car had a sign that specified it HAD a warranty. It was the whole reason we went to the dealership. When we told them it was a no go without a warranty they wouldnt let us leave without "deescalating" because of the forms we already signed. They then continued pushy sales tactics Against my better judgment because we were desperate for a working vehicle, we went through with the purchase. We were given one key and told the second would be available for pickup when we came in for our undercoating. When we arrived for the undercoating no key could be found for us. I emailed out sales person about the missing key, and NEVER received a response. I still have no second key 802 toyota is full of grifters and pushy sales people. DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE

The problems begin when you actually try to do business with them. I spent a week and countless hours corresponding with them about a used car, responding to their quote with an offer in writing fifteen minutes later. After waiting 24 hours, I tried following up repeatedly with him, copying the sales manager each time and received no response. Two days later, I called and the salesperson picked up the phone, clearly unprepared. I pointed out that by this point, their price on the vehicle had dropped but he never revised his quote to reflect the difference. He told me he would get back to me that afternoon with a revised quote. Instead, when I did not hear back and called again, he told me the car had been sold to someone else. (Surprise!) One salesperson does not necessarily reflect an entire dealership except here, it turned out, he apparently did. I brought this experience to the sales manager and GM, offering to share my correspondence with their salesperson. They declined, instead making the generous offer to sell me a new car. No thanks. Maya Angelou's standard warning never fails: "When someone shows you who they are, believe it." Businesses like McGee Hyundai are the reason that car dealers are among the least trusted occupations by the American public, competing mainly for the title with "Used car dealers."

Upon closer inspection we found that not only did 2 rear brake calipers and 4 brake pads need to be swapped(the rear brakes barely had any pad left), but there were 2 large bends in the frame below. See photos below. Trying to come to terms with this problem, I decided to just pay close attention to the car on the road and to move on. Just 10 days later the car stalls on me and starts making loud knocking noises. I pull over, check the oil (fine) and go home in frustration to deal with getting it towed the next day. Fast forward two days, the car is on a lift, sub-frame removed to inspect the crankshaft and lower parts of the engine and I'm now being told I'm better off buying a new engine. Two weeks in, I'm going to have spent thousands on a car that I've put less than 300 miles on. I understand used cars are used cars, but I figured I'd reach out to see if Walker could offer any assistance given the unfortunate circumstance I'm now placed in. After finally managing to get someone to speak with me, I've been told they'll do nothing because it worked when they had it. I was even told initially that the undercarriage is in good condition. Did they not see the massive problems with the frame? I thought buying a Mazda from a Mazda dealership would imply the vehicle would leave the lot with brakes and last. Very dissatisfied, would not recommend!

I have the Turbo Diesel Golf which is an unusual car up here due to its lack of availability in Vermont. When looking for a good place to service my car I inquired with other Volkswagen diesel owners in VT and they all said that Walker is the best. I was surprised that a dealer was everyone's top choice but now I know why. Initially I was shocked at the way in which the service people communicated with me. Totally down to earth demeanor with a clear desire to understand what is going with your vehicle. No questions are stupid questions here. These guys are patient like VW Saints. Seriously. You're never made to feel like you're wasting their time. (They're all great guys but Terry is especially fabulous). The other tremendous thing about Walker's service department is the practicality with which they treat the repairs. The outrageous estimates I used to get at other places are consistently countered with more cost-effective solutions at Walker. I love "Erma" (yes I named my Golf) and Walker keeps her driving and thriving.

I left a message but go no answer, all while the pipe was getting worse and worse. I have no landline, and I live in the NEK and cell service is spotty and unreliable. So when I emailed the sales rep that I got no response, I expressed to them that I'd prefer email to get this scheduled. They did not like this, and wanted me to play phone tag with them by finding a landline somewhere. Why did they insist I call them? We were already emailing and I told them I have issues with phone service. This back and forth with them is ongoing as of the writing of this review, but considering what I've heard about them and read about them, I'm not terribly optimistic. That's car dealerships for you, though. They're all grifters, and if you want to help the world be rid of places like this you should try to help change the laws so car manufacturers can sell directly to consumers and skip these untrustworthy, self-serving middlemen.
