WOW I just love my RAV4 which is 100% safe and undamaged according to Service Director Steven Reese. I'm not sure how he came to the conclusion that my suspension was not intermittently shaking "violently" between 65-75 MPH when I had a large sign in my car forbidding him from driving it due to metal fatigue, which is why it was just flatbedded 40 miles to 802, or without him driving on a road that comes close to 65 according to my GPS. But I know you professionals have your secrets! I'll still have to disagree that road tests are required, since no other Toyota agrees. I'm a bit confused how Steve ruled out suspension resonance as a potential cause when he asked me to explain what it was AFTER my inspection, even though I had told him I was there due to suspension resonance damage, and then he told me that it was "way over his head" when I explained it (road bumps are making the car bounce at 10x speed). But I'm not a service manager, so who knows? STEVE REESE DOES, and he says this car is in EXCELLENT shape for a 2015 Toyota. Although every other Toyota dealership disagrees with 802 again, and says that the car I bought 10 months prior that Toyota is still selling for $15k is only worth $1-4k, and therefore legally totaled by my state laws. It's incredibly honorable of Toyota to give Steve a chance working on suspensions even though he has no knowledge about why suspensions are designed the way they are, and therefore doesn't understand how they work. I'm sure nothing bad could come from that! Unfortunately if he would have watched that video of my vehicle oscillating wildly in front of a large oncoming truck (the video he understandably refused to watch- Tinyurl. com/VehicleSafetyVideo), he would have seen the definition of suspension resonance at the end. I do wish that Steve could've found a reason that all 12 tires I had on the car within 51 days were wobbling and getting worn down. But at least he was able to diagnose my car as having wobbly tires, and also generously offered to help me increase those numbers to 16 wobbly tires in 85 days. I don't necessarily agree that the issue was my $1,100 "economy" Wrangler Steadfast tires with 379 miles on them, since Goodyear, as well as Toyota employees from multiple dealerships, including 802's General Sales Manager, says that they're premium tires! So I'll have to disagree with 802 that replacing them with the same exact premium tires would help align drivability with my premium ride expectations. I didn't know that not wanting your suspension to oscillate 10 times per second was a premium feature. Hopefully this comes standard in the next model! Thanks Steve for putting my mind at ease by certifying that my vehicle was safe and in great condition for its age on multiple occasions. I was convinced resonance was intermittently violently shaking my car, making it hard to stay on the road, destroying 12 tires and my suspension, and filling me with existential dread and nausea every time I drive. But it turns out it was just my 3rd set of premium-economy tires since April 30th wibbly wobbling down the road, as they do, and hysterics! the parts department sucks and this is why : I have a 2021 tundra all lights came on the dash and from what I saw on the forum and when I hooked up to it said right wheel speed sensor. I called 802 and they had one so I went and picked it up and installed it.for the tune of 400.00 + ! that didn't fix the problem so I went to to local garage and they hooked it up and went for a ride it was the same place as the speed sensor but the axle baring so I call them to order it and they had one on hand so the next day I got. when I was there my wife was with me I had concerns of it being the right one and also said passenger side rear he said yes . I came home got it all together put it in the rear end housing to find it wasn't the right one. I called him back he told me it was unfortunate that that happened but he would sell me another for 368. he said that's employee discount i said no I already paid 518. For the wrong one I want my money back. He said it's my fault. So I sad when you call and it says you will be recorded for quality insurance let's listen to to call when Initiall called to order and see what I said . I asked 100000 starting at its current mileage or once it reaches 100000 they said starting at current mileage . Well two years later water pump gave out and they're telling me it doesn't have a warranty seems like they will say anything to get the sale. I had $32.00 stolen from my armrest console. I purchased my 2022 Rav 4 in February 2025. I brought it in for service to replace the radio in August. As I saw my car leaving the drop off area I remembered I forgot to grab my change purse and thought about it the whole time I was waiting . When my car was finished the first thing I did was check my change purse and the money was gone. When I talked to the service manager he just denied any of his employees would steal. He said he trusts his service people. I felt as though he was accusing me of lying. Then I went to the general manager. They were more polite. One rep topped off my gas (3 gallons). Leased 4 RAV4's in a row from these folks. I have found their sales and service departments to be competent and efficient and am hoping to close lease #5 this month. Not sure why folks leaving bad reviews have so many bad things to say about the service department, but good service has been my experience, although all I usually have done is scheduled service on a relatively new car. Folks driving in beaters with 200,000 miles are having more problems than a bad service department, and should look closely at what they are asking 802Toyota to do. Called to have my coolant power flushed. Third party call center answered and I had no idea and said they do that service. Drove over an hour only to find out they dont. Technician says he did two manual flushes though. I find out later that that isn't true and he only cleared my codes. 4 hour wait and $235 for nothing. I will never come back. read more

My Daughter purchased a Prius from 802 Toyota last spring and was very happy with the sales team. Last week she got a flat tire with damage to the sidewall. The Prius comes with fix-a-flat instead of a spare tire for some reason and She had another year of ToyotaCare Roadside assistance so had it towed to 802. I called in the morning to let them know about the car and what needed to be done. The lady responded, "And what would you like me to do about it?" I asked about getting a spare tire in the next few days and she laughed at me. She said people that use the ToyotaCare service are first come first serve. I responded could I get an estimate on how long until I could get the tire replaced and she responded, "How could I possibly give you an estimate when I don't know how many other people used the ToyotaCare roadside service ahead of you?". I asked if I could schedule an appointment and was told if you use the roadside service, you're not eligible to make appointments. Then asked are we talking days or weeks before getting the tire replaced and was told more than likely weeks. I'm not sure if this is typical treatment people that use the free tow service or if the lady was just having a bad day, but next time I would prefer to pay for the tow myself and it brought to a tire shop. It's been a week and still no replaced tire so guess it wasn't an exaggeration when she said "probably weeks" Just got the car back after 11 days and was charged $420 for a factory Prius tire. Total rip off!! My gf was told she needed to fix her rear brakes to pass inspection. She got a quote for $ 1250 to replace the rear brake rotors and pads because they where "rusty". I Told her that was astronomicaly high. She ended up getting them fixed for $280 at another local shop next day. I think it completely ridiculous that dealerships can charge this much money for simple things. I mean that's a 1000 more. What a ripoff. Truly criminal. I'm looking for a 2023 Prius prime and met with a very personable salesman, Jason Meas explained the wait for these cars here and thought I would have better luck in California. He did show us a very nice black 2022 Prius prime with low mileage, and took the time to explain how its features compared to the 2023 and suggested maybe I buy a 2022 and in a year or two when the new model is more available upgrade then. This is explicitly for the Service Department. JD made us feel incredibly uncomfortable when we arrived to the department. We greeted him first and he almost refused to take our vehicle that we were dropping off for work for the next business day. It honestly felt as if he were going through extra effort to be unwelcoming and callous. In addition to this, we informed our Service Advisor that our vehicle had an aftermarket battery and that we wanted to have a full Multi Point Inspection of the issues with our vehicle, as we had a number of observable problems, such as the TPMS warning light and we wanted to make sure that if we were leaving our vehicle there with no time constraints, that the shop go ahead and fix as many problems as possible. After calling to tell us one price point for a traction battery fix, which we whole-heartedly agreed to, we were called on another day, maybe 2 or so later, telling us *surprise* we have an aftermarket battery! Which, as I mentioned above, was one of the first items we mentioned to the Service Advisor. It was also odd that in a Multi Point Inspection (MPI), which typically comes free with service but we were actively requesting for this visit, that none of those other issues were addressed in our phone calls or noticed. The steps to confirm an aftermarket battery, which is Bright Orange is 1) open trunk and 2) lift the spare tire storage. We had to do it all the time when we had car troubles in the past. This "surprise" finding had the Service Advisor inform us that our service would be $1300 more expensive as Toyota doesn't accept the after markets as a trade in. Which is fair, however we were more suspicious regarding if our vehicle had been examined at all. This suspicion increased when we arrive to pick up and pay for our vehicle. We ask for our MPI and there isn't one. The vehicle summary doesn't even have a mention of the TPMS warning that would be blaring in someone's face if they started the vehicle. The only work that has been done was a simple scan on a tool that my husband had already done at home, nothing that we requested. Upon speaking to Steve Reese via email, we were basically told we were lucky that they didn't charge us for the replacement they didn't do, because they only discovered it was after market (the bright orange Dorman labeled monstrosity that takes two steps to see) after begining the replacement process. We really tried to get kindness or respect from this institution prior to writing a negative review. Yes, ultimately we would have liked a refund for the service not being completed, but we probably wouldn't have left a review if our reply from the Service Manager didn't seem so callous and rude to the failures conducted on their end. This is our second experience like this at Toyota to the point that we are likely avoiding 802 as a chain and Toyotas since they're they only dealership in central Vermont. Highlight of this whole situation, we found a very nice gentleman in South Burlington that changed the cells and repaired our traction battery directly for $1250, $2800 less than 802 Toyota. I had my older Toyota towed to this shop as it had almost every dash light on. I called 802 Toyota and asked if I should drive it there and they said not to drive it with warning lights flashing. The service dept then followed up my call with a text regarding the car having an appointment once it arrived, so AAA took it over. I called 802 Toyota for 3 days asking what was going on with car. No one in service would give me an answer when it would be looked at. By fourth day I finally got ahold of the service manager who I had left two voice-mails with already in prior days. He acted all surprised and said they didn't know my car was there. What a crock of sh*t! Manager started giving me 20 questions about why,how,when,etc...Terrible service manager, proper way would have been to apologize and get the car assessed asap. Nope, he didn't even apologize, then called back ten minutes later saying he didn't know where key was. I asked if he'd even looked in the car,he said no, I'll look. How dumb can one be?! Car was finally looked at late afternoon fourth day and they quoted $1000 to fix. I talked with my friend who works on cars and he looked up the part, $170, and time to replace, 1 to 2 hours. I purchased my car from 802 Toyota in 2020. I received my free oil changes. My last one was just a check over and received no free oil change to my surprise. Decided to go someplace else for my service from there on out. My mechanic informed me at My inspection that I would need brakes at XYZ. I called 802 Toyota for an appointment. They would not do brakes without them inspecting them. $69.00!!!! And then they quoted well over $700.00 for just the rear brakes. I decided to call around. I got rear brakes and an oil change for $747.00 some place else. I will not go or recommend them ever. That's price gouging!! That gives mechanics bad rep!!! This dealer sold a saltwater flood damaged car to my in-laws, claimed the rust on the chair rails was from people not wiping off their feet, not that the car was rusting out from the carriage up. Then they purchased the platinum warranty for a used vehicle, which Toyota in Princeton won't honour because corrosion isn't covered even when the Toyota dealer deliberately sold a lemon. The car fax report shows nothing. The sales people in Princeton popped the hood and point blank said that something was seriously wrong with this car, but their service center told us to stuff it. - Made an appointment a month in advance for a tire swap, an oil change, and a high pitched noise my truck was making. Also ordered new tires from them. - When I called, my appointment was made for 2 and I checked with them that I would be done by 4. They assured me this would not be a problem. - When I came in for my appointment, they told me that they had no record of the tires I had ordered and that I would not be done by 4. I explained the conversation I had had when I made my appointment. A few minutes later, they said they had located my new tires and they would try their best to have me done by 4. Side note, I also had four old tires in the back of my truck that I asked them to dispose of. - At 4:00 I asked if my truck was finished. They said it would still be a while. I was disappointed but stuck. - At 4:30 my truck came out with the old tires installed on it. - They also said they could not find the source of the high pitched noise and that everything looked fine. - When I pointed out that they had installed old tires, not the new tires I had ordered they offered to comp my oil change. This was appreciated, but the customer service rep was largely unapologetic for all of the other errors saying, "Looks like today is just not your day" and that I would have to come back in for the tire change. I told them I would not be coming back. - A week later I took my truck to another mechanic to have the high pitched noise looked at. They told me that my wheel was loose and that my wheel bearing needed to be replaced. They also explained that this was a pretty basic diagnosis. read more

I bought a 2014 Honda Odyssey from 802 Toyota March 2021. The sales person asked if I drove everyday and I don't. I was told they would install a new battery, I can only guess there was an existing issue with the battery in the car. I have to go out every couple days and charge the battery because the vehicle won't start. When I called to report the problem the person I spoke to said there was no record of a battery being installed. I would not recommend buying a vehicle there, they tell you they will address a potential problem so you buy the vehicle then you get stuck with dealing with it. They lost a customer unfortunately. Want it bad? Get it bad! Let me first say that Amber did a good job of dealing with me and my frustration. She was very professional and seemingly sympathetic to my situation. I would not want her job. Do I think 802 Toyota could have done better? Yes. My truck is a 2004 Toyota Tundra with 218,000 miles. I do expect its going to have some problems once in a while. I was in Vermont to pick up a U-Haul trailer and take back to Virginia. The top of my radiator blew right off! I had it towed to nearest Toyota dealership. I called to tell them I was having my car towed there. Lucky I called when I did, they were closing in 10 minutes. I explained that I was broke down and that I needed to get back to Virginia ASAP! Amber explained that they were very busy and that she wouldn't be able to even look at my car until late Monday or Tuesday. Closing at 2:00pm on a Saturday? And only open until 5:00 during the week. If they are that busy, I would think that it should be open longer. (Only 2 Stars for service department hours) Amber explained the $90+ per hour fee for diagnosing the problem. I told her that would not be necessary because as soon as they opened the hood it would be obvious that I needed a radiator! I'm not sure if she could have ordered a radiator on a Saturday at 2:00 but that would have been a big help to getting me on the road sooner. (Only 2 stars for not ordering a new radiator until late Monday). Monday morning I was expecting a call first thing to at least hear if they would be able to get my truck looked at or not. A 10:00 am, I finally called them. I got voicemail but Amber did call me back an hour later. Again I explained that I was from Virginia and really needed to get back. I also explained that if it was not going to be ready soon that I would get home another way and come back to VT to get my truck after it was repaired. At nearly 5:00 PM, I finally got a call saying I needed a radiator and that she would have to order one. (Only 2 stars for communication and not ordering a radiator earlier) Tuesday when I had not heard from amber by 1:30 pm I decided to get a ride and just go there. At 2:00pm, Amber explained that they were just now going to pick up the new radiator. I was very frustrated at this point and not very hopeful that my truck would be ready. Again I explained that had I known it was not going to be ready I would have gone back to VA and come back to get my truck at a later date. I stayed in the area hoping to hear from Amber if my truck would be ready or not. Either way, I had to leave for VA Wednesday morning. 30 minutes prior to closing I still had not heard from Amber so I went back to the dealership and sat outside. 5 minutes prior to closing I walked in. She saw me waiting in line and said that she thought we were good. My radiator had been replaced and there were no indications of any other problems. Ok, that's good, but why did it overheat and explode to begin with? Amber explained that I should drive it back to Randolph, where I was staying, and if I had any problems I should bring it back in the morning. When she brought my truck out I said I wanted to see what a new radiator looked like. She said she wanted to see too. If you have never seen what a mess an exploded radiator makes, I could show you. Most of it is still on my truck and inside the engine compartment. Really? (Only 2 stars for returning my truck in such a mess) As I'm driving my truck away I notice that the heat is on but there is no heat coming out of the vents. Really? There are no indications of any other problems? I'm not going to need heat for a while so no big deal right? My truck did not overheat again for nearly 300 miles. Worse possible place ever! Yep, George Washington Bridge in NYC! Seems as if the thermostat would have been a no brainer to at least look at or replace while you're waiting for the radiator. I spoke with Sarah through email a few times. She was very pleasant and responsive so we were eager to do business with 802. We made an appointment with Sarah for 6:00 on a Monday night, to meet with someone, have our trade appraised, and test drive the several pre-owned Highlanders that Sarah said were on property. We live an hour away, so we rushed there after work so not to be late for our appointment. When we arrived there was no record of any appointment and no one was really available to work with us. Chris came over, pretty flustered, because he said he had to juggle us and another couple that he was working with. We then find out that they didn't have anything on the lot that we were looking for, and nothing to test drive. He didn't offer to show us anything, nor did he give us any faith that something we want would come in at some point. In fact, his exact words were, "it's nearly impossible to get a used Highlander XLE from 2016/17, they just never come onto our lot." He didn't talk about the vehicle, or offer us any new information about it. He also knew nothing about the promised appraisal. He did end up doing our appraisal, after I insisted, but basically told us our car wasn't worth anything. What a despicable waste of time. The following evening we went to Heritage in South Burlington, with which I made an appointment that day. Our car was backed in at the front door, the sales person greeted us when we walked in, knew exactly who we were, was super professional, and offered us tons of great information about the Highlander that we didn't even know! My husband and I were blown away at the difference. Sold! Sorry 802, I promised my $35,000 to someone else the very next day. Epic fail, 802. Get yourself together, my goodness. Horrible, horrible service. I bought my truck from them (back when it was Courtesy) and things were...well, okay for awhile. They tended to be really, really slow and kept quoting the amount of time it would take for specific services, but it would always take much longer. I asked them to just tell the truth so I could plan accordingly. I didn't care if it would take 3 hours to get an oil change, just don't tell me it will take 20-30 minutes when it will be 3 hours. That was frustrating. Virtually every time I would bring the truck in for a specific service, they would find something else wrong with it. Even when they had to replace the frame during the recall, they managed to find over $900 worth of other repairs that were "necessary." Pad those pockets! The last straw was when I brought it in for an inspection and they came up with a list of several things that had to be repaired before they would pass the truck. The total estimate was around $1,300. Well, I went and got a second opinion and haven't been back since. NONE of the things they said had to be fixed before they would pass have been repaired yet and it has passed two inspections since. Strange, huh? During that same visit, they pushed giving me a free quote to purchase my truck, so I told them "knock yourself out," basically. They came back with a cash quote of around $9K. I pulled up a website with three listings of the same vehicle within 100 miles of us--all with about double the mileage as mine--and they were all listed between $15K and $18K (at that time). The guy got really miffed with me for turning him down and laughing at his quote. read more

i went to 802 toyota on may 23rd to purchase a 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross LE, i spoke to James and we had a deal on a silver Toyota corolla cross LE and he said it would be in on the truck that week. I gave a $500.00 deposit. I called on Thursday the 26th of may to check status of my suv. James stated it hadn't been built yet. It was being built in June and delivery date of mid to late July. I was infuriated as i was told it would be in that week. I went to 802 toyota to discuss this with James. He said he didn't know where the confusion was that he claims he told me up front that the car needed to be built. I said if you told me that why am i asking you about a truck that was delivering Corolla cross, as it had delivered the vehicles as i saw them on the lot. James again said he didn't know why i said that he stated it was going to be in this week as he claims he told me that it needed to be built, i said did a truck deliver toyota corolla crosses he said yes, i said was there in fact a silver Cross LE on that truck? he said yes. i said how did i know that if you didn't tell me mine was being delivered. He asked how can we make this right? i said get me into a cross XLE with a discount. He said he would talk to his manager. I said im willing to put another $2,00.00 down but that 802 Toyota needed to sweeten the pot to correct there error with me. So th emanager came over and asked what was wrong, i stated the facts to him and i said i want a Corolla Cross XLE. He said it is more money,. I said yes im willing to put another $2,00.00 down what are you willing to do. The manager stated "NOTHING." I said than i want my deposit back, He said "Ok" then walked off. Not even making an attempt to rectify the situation or an attempt to sell me the XLE. I could not believe the cold mallace of the sales team at 802 Toyota in Berlin Vermont. I feel they got. a better deal and made more money on the Cross that was supposed to be mine and sold it out from under me. Bought a car here, paid the full asking price, got an expensive service contract, and they've just refused to honor it. Either they won't give me an appointment for service within a reasonable time, or they use really creative excuses to explain why my "bumper to bumper" warranty doesn't apply. The salesman specifically told me the warranty covered brake calipers, but when they needed repairs I was told that it was "maintenance." Always an excuse, instead of just honoring the warranty. My husband purchased an extended warranty on his truck. When he called to make an appointment about a part that needed to be replaced he was assured that the part would be in. He goes for his appointment and 2 hours later they come out to tell him what is wrong with the truck and that the part would be coming in the next day as they have to order it. He was furious! He lost 5 hours of work to find out that they NEVER even ordered the part so it would be available the day of the appointment as he was told it would be. Now he will have to go back, which means loss of more work. And to top it off, 802 Toyota billed Toyota for labor and the part and nothing has even been done yet! Seems scammy to me. read more

Nickel and dime the hell out of you...plus they'll rip you off on anything they can to get you to come back and "fix" something. Even on an inspection.....never have I heard of anyone telling me the they cant inspect my rig because my tires stick out. It's not a mud truck....my mudflaps are farther out than my tires and I know the law...fenders are still over tires. Not impressed with the inspection service - I recommend somewhere else where something as simple a dust wouldn't keep your rig from getting inspected. VT is unbelievable with these laws.....even license plate mounts gets you.....c'mon - really!? What a joke 802 and VT - given I understand the laws and know about the DMV check-up, but my rig was completely inspectable and new - 2014 actually.. Only thing I can say is they finally covered the inspection cost for free after 20 minutes of bull. read more

I have never written a yelp response but feel inclined today. Had an 8 am appointment to wait for my car to be looked at for a vibration. Was asked to wait before going to do anything to confirm any issues and what repair options I would want. At 9:15 went up to find out why I hadn't heard from anyone they said my car hadn't even been looked at!!!! I had to make special plans for childcare and drove a 1/2 hour for my appointment. No sympathy even. This is not the first negative experience I have had here I come back cause it is closest but I now realize it is worth driving longer for good service. read more

I too have had a similar experience with my 2010 Toyota RAV. I am a woman who was told the vehicle needed over $1000 in repairs (front end work) ball joints etc. I took it to Alderman's Toyota where I bought it and told we it was fine. Over 70,000 miles later and now over 200,000 miles in all it has not needed this work. Over years of bring 4 different Toyota vehicles to 802 Toyota, no oil change was ever just an oil change, it was ALWAYS a call with this line "we found somethings on your car..." Yesterday, my mother called to ask my husband and I go to 802 Toyota because she was approached by a salesperson who took her aside after her service, told her she needed a few minutes to discuss something important, and then proceeded to wave a photocopy of a check (with her name on it), telling her that they would like to buy her car for $9199. My mother, thanked the woman and explained she would need to seek the advice of her daughter, went home, called us, and we scooted right up to support her in this transaction. She called ahead to make an appointment to meet with this woman. When my husband and I arrived, she was sitting with another salesperson, Sean, and I heard her distinctly ask if "she would get credit for the sale" so I know she was asking why she wasn't meeting with the first woman. Sean proceeded to introduce himself and began with a song and dance about how 802 is not about gimmicks and they deal honestly and with "real numbers." (My eyes were rolling because I was getting the distinct feeling a shoe was about to drop on the deal). He asked my mother what her goal was and she explained she wanted to lower her payment. We wanted to talk numbers. He did not. He asked what kind of a car she wanted and after discussing some options, she asked for a very plain version of what she was turning in. We let him get a car, take my mother out and show her the features (way too much car for her), and let the process play out. Then, he hit her with the question: can we make a deal right now?! (Keep in mind, we still think the original fake check is still on the table.). Wisely, my husband leaned over and said, "let's hear the numbers first." We went back inside and he said he would have to take a look at the car and do an assessment. Mom immediately picked up on that and wondered why, since they just had the car in their possession. Wait for it! He returns with another piece of paper with a fake check and now it is $8500! Why? Because, according to him, the car would need a $600 paint job to sell it and it is gold, which sits on the lot longer than other colors! I point out that he is way below the NADA assessment for a car of its age and mileage and he shuts me up by saying that it is "just a guide." My husband said, but this morning, your own sales staff assessed it at a higher level. Here it comes: "Well, he says, these are estimates (no where on the paperwork does the word estimate appear) that we get based on the VIN number and no inspection. We toss it on the seat as a marketing ploy (hello! Major Gimmick!)." I stopped him, having to clench my teeth to be polite, and told him that this was NOT left on her seat but that she was escorted to a table and shown this estimate on the heels of a service call and my mother assumed they had done an inspection. I told him he needed to speak to his manager and make sure this never happened again as t appeared they were trying to take advantage of an elderly woman! My mother looked him in the eyes and told him just how she felt and that this was simply wrong. He excused himself on the premise he would see what he could do to improve the numbers and came back with another offer. By then, my mom was done and decided to keep her car (that she currently has equity in and would lose all that with this deal!). He returned, she said thank you but no thank you and we readied to leave. He got nervous and asked us to wait while he went to get his manager, and she arrived with a lecture, focused directly at my mother (not looking at my husband or I) and apologized for my MOTHER misunderstanding their procedure. I was really mad now and stopped her in mid -sentence. My mother did not misunderstand, 802 misrepresented themselves and their intentions. I will never go to them again. Nor will I allow my mother to take her car there for service! We have a wonderful mechanic who we will use in the future! AND, I am reporting these people to the Attorney General's office! read more

I bought a 2017 RAV 4 Hybrid at 802 Toyota at the end of November 2016. I drove it to North Carolina in February so it only spent a couple of months in winter weather. The inspection is due in December but since I've planned on being in North Carolina from the end of September through at least March next year, I brought it to 802 Toyota to get it inspected. It didn't pass!!! Not only did it not pass, the problem was something that wasn't covered under warranty. They said there was rust on the rotors and that VT State law requires them to fail the inspection if there is any rust at all. They wanted $220 to resurface the rotors, which they said was the cheapest route for me. I told them I didn't want them to do anything as I just could not believe this. They knew I was heading back to North Carolina the very next day. I've been asking 802 Toyota and the main Toyota office, and to date have not received and answer, whether 802 Toyota's service of my vehicle was poor/shady or is my vehicle a piece of crap because it can't even pass inspection in the first few months I've owned it. I was so excited to buy my Toyota but now I'm just so disappointed. I will never recommend 802 Toyota or Toyota in general. read more

Be aware of this place! My elderly parents who live in Vermont called to tell me that they took their 2012 Camry to have it inspected. The car did not pass inspection and required $1,500 in repairs. My parents thought about getting a new car. My brothers and I insisted that they get a second opinion. The car was taken to a local repair shop and it passed inspection without any need of repair, and the total cost was $44.00! The people that inspected my parent's car for the second opinion knew nothing about the estimate from 802 Toyota. My parents also received a few emails from salespeople at this dealership over the weekend encouraging them to sell their used car because of such high demand for the make, model and year of my parents car. My parents were shocked and will NOT purchase a new car from these folks. After speaking with my parents further we have discovered other repair bills that were just as high. They may have been legitimate, but after this incident we think otherwise. These folks seem to prey on the elderly. Just beware. read more

We have purchased 5 Toyota vehicles from 802 Toyota, and had all of them serviced here as well. From start to finish this dealership is top notch! They treat you with respect, explain things needing to be explained and have always done all they could do to accommodate our sales and service needs. I see these negative reviews and I'm sorry you feel you were "scammed" ... Please keep this in mind though ~ the State of Vermont has VERY high expectations of their inspection stations and if the technician were to "inspect" your vehicle with safety issues that were the slightest bit questionable, it could be your (or that of a loved one) LIFE they are saving! Yes, repairs are pricey and yes, they happen when we seem to be the least prepared, but if you truly think you are being "scammed", why not take Mr. Williams' offer to call in DMV and see for yourself just why these repairs are being suggested to you? An offer only a reputable establishment would offer in my opinion. read more
