I would NEVER order from this establishment again! I ordered take- out for my husband and I and I got quite ill after consuming my meal. The chicken must have not been fresh, and the rice was bathing in onions, when I clearly requested " No onions". I did not want to get in my car and return the platter( I should have, laziness does not pay off most times), but the food just didn't appear to be of good quality as when we ordered in person. I vomited immediately after I finished dinner( projectile vomiting), in no way was this do to consuming onions, ( I'm not allergic, it's just a preference). I contacted them immediately to let them know what occurred, and got into an argument about the " freshness of the chicken". I was told the chicken was prepared "same day and I was the only one to complain". Really? I never requested a refund, I just called in to tell them I got very ill after eating their food, and please don't serve "old food" to delivery customers! I told them I was going to write a review warning people of their unsafe practices for delivery customers. I was met with the response of " do what you have to do". Nice response to the ill customer stuck sipping on ginger- ale.

My favorites are the Hot and Sour soup, Hunan shrimp and the various noodle dishes.

We have been coming here for a while and always get the honey butter rice balls without fail. The crunch on the outside and chewy texture on the inside is perfect and we love the sweet taste. I would pass on the bibimbap next time, it was kind of bland and the crispy rice was burnt instead of golden. The japchae was the star of the meal. So much flavor, perfect cook of the noodles, and thin beef. If I wasn't sharing dishes, I would get this all for myself. Lastly, we got the regular size of soy garlic chicken, which was 12 pieces because they were out of the big drumsticks. The crunch was great with perfectly cooked chicken on the inside. I don't like that they charge extra for sauce but honestly this meal was such a bargain. A meal for 4 under $100 at a nice restaurant is rare. The service was fine, refilled our water on time but our waiter could've been more attentive overall. Ambiance is always great with a retro vibe and cool lighting.

I dared to try the cauliflower wings (half & half), which actually wasn't bad. Both flavors was good, although I personally like the spicy better (just make sure you can handle it, although it won't be too bad if you're used to spicy food). Garlic fried rice was okay, but not the best. Also seems like they don't give you a side of pickled radish at this point, but maybe that's because we're in Jersey. Also the kimchi fries weren't what I expected. What the fries were crispy and tasty, they just give you a tiny cup of kimchi cheese sauce. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I expected the fries to be way more loaded. I ordered for pickup and it did take a lot longer than expected. I also felt sorry for the hostess, who was running around trying to help. There also was 5 people just standing around chatting, but the music was just a tad too loud to hear anyone trying to get their attention. I'm sure dining in would be a chill vibe, but can still have that and have it all together yk? Last thing is I definitely asked for bacon mustard sauce and heard them confirm over the phone, a bit annoyed they forgot that!

The lemon salmon with mushrooms was not only delicious but also an enormous portion. The roasted duck confit with green beans and mushroom risotto was another highlight--risotto is rarely nailed, but this one was perfectly balanced and spot on. The only downside was that the duck could've used a touch more salt and arrived less hot than expected. As usual, I ordered the smoked duck appetizer, which is always beautifully presented in a smoke-filled dome. Unlike my entree which wasn't hot enough, I wish it had been served colder this time- it was a bit too warm. The miso soup and seaweed salad are always solid, but I actually prefer the spicy versions of both. They add more flavor without being overwhelmingly spicy. Desserts are delicious, the sesame ice cream that comes with the bread pudding and cheesecake is some of my favorite- I wish I could buy a pint of it to bring home. Big fan of Wasai, both their French and Japanese, but it's just missing that 5th star for me.

The server wasn't sure of the types of fish for some of the sashimi so that was a little disappointing but the food all tasted super fresh and amazing so no complaints there!
