The prices are ridiculous $17 for a grinder, fries and a drink! I mean the grinders are great but... it's not your everyday spot!

It sucks that I have to leave this review after ordering from this establishment for over 10 years. This is the first time they have messed up my order. I called in and the wife of the owner answers the phone. I explained i ordered a veggie grinder and it has mushrooms on it when i asked without it. I said my husband is on his way into swap it out for a new sandwich that doesn't have mushrooms on it since i am allergic. She yells at me "i made the sandwich right! Next time you need to order right because you are wrong" and hangs up on me. I called back and said I was not interested in the sandwich anymore and would like a refund for the sandwich and We will still bring it back since i won't be eating it. She yells again at me no you get a sandwich. I told her I don't want it anymore. at this point she was screaming at me so loud i couldn't even talk. long story short : be prepared to be yelled at, receive horrible customer service if you talk with the wife or if you call back with an issue with your order. read more

I always order the Combination Grinder (Ham, Salami, Garlic Sauce, Onions, Peppers, Tomatoes, Mayo & Cheese) It's one of my favorite sandwiches. Horrible service and they lie! We ordered for delivery from the eat 24 app. When our food didn't arrive in an hour we were told they were closed. Bad form on both them AND Eat24! Cruising through the app. Over the past month the restaurant would been seen,and wanting to try new places,we took another chance and this time ordered early. If you are looking for New York style pizza, keep looking, this is not your place. Their menu even states "Philly" style crust. I decided to try on a recommendation from a friend and I was not disappointed. Even with having it delivered, this is one of the best pizzas I have eaten in a very long time. From the crust that had that perfect "bite" to it(not too thick, not too thin), to the just right amount of perfectly spiced sauce, chewy cheese and tasty Italian sausage. Ordered delivery. Decided on the chicken Philly grinder with a side of fried mushrooms. The chicken sandwich was great! Everything from the garlic bread to the sauces, cheese and mushrooms blended very well together giving the sandwich great flavor! I did make a request for hot peppers instead of green peppers, but I don't think they put any peppers on as far as I could see and taste. Would've liked the added spice of the hot peppers but the sandwich tasted amazing still, so no complaints. The mushrooms were pretty good too, nothing to out of the ordinary from a typical fried mushroom, I did notice a hint of sweetness to the batter which was pleasant. Get it on garlic bread. I have a tip for you when it comes to grinders- a lot of people I know have a problem with one ingredient or another- onions, green peppers, tomatoes, ham etc. Even if you'd normally order something without said ingredient you don't like, don't make any changes to a combo grinder. What took me so long to eat here?? I grew up close by and even after moving to the suburbs, I still drive down this stretch of Touhy often. Yet, I have never been here and now feel like a fool. So while driving down Touhy again, Eastern Style caught my attention and I stopped in for lunch. Multiple Yelp reviews mention the chicken grinder so that's what I decided to order, along with fries and pop. The food took a while and I saw plenty of customers doing take out before my order was called. It was strange to see so many customers come in and not have a single person eat inside. The place is clean and there was plenty of seating....was it me?? The chicken grinder is, in a word, great! I thought $9 was a little steep until I saw how big it actually is. Everything about this grinder was spot on. The bread was perfectly toasted and the ingredients were all fresh. This is not a sandwich stuffed to the gills with a mish mosh of ingredients and slathered in sauce. They put the right amount of chicken to veggies to cheese-to sauce and the end result is a sandwich I will be coming back for. There are a good number of reviews that mention unfriendly attitudes but I didn't see any of that while eating in. Is the man behind the counter happy-go-lucky? Not really but he isn't rude or mean either. Stern but polite is the best way to describe the man IMO.
