I love a build your own salad place. Give me the all the options on a salad bar. This particular time I tried the pick 2 option and opted for a medium salad and a smoothie. When ordering, they called out the smoothie for it to be made at the other end so it could be ready by the time I got to the end of the line, but that ended up not being the case. I ended up getting the chicken club salad, it had greens, avocado, chicken, hard boiled eggs, dried fruit and more, with balsamic dressing. They asked me house heavy I would like my salad dressed which I appreciate. They even asked if we wanted the salad tossed or dressing on the side which is always great if you're getting it for later. The portions were decent for the price. Coming to the register, this guy who rung me up was also the guy who was to make my smoothie. He didn't tell me the total or anything he sort of just stared at me eventually I picked up that he was waiting on me to pay. Did that, and I waited around for my smoothie. And he eventually asked if I was missing something and realized he had to make my smoothie, which took some time because he had to go find the ingredients. We didn't mind waiting, but it just felt like the communication was off. The smoothie itself was rather chunky, we got the PB pro which made sense why they gave us a large straw sort of like a boba one because you definitely need it. Overall, we had an okay experience. I'd certainly come by again when I'm in the area to try other salads.

I was awaiting the opening of Just Salad. Apparently so was everyone else. Don't get me wrong, I loved Panda, but I'm always looking for a good salad. In addition to salads they have bowls, wraps, smoothies. I like that the menu lists calories, protein, even carbon emissions. The Buffalo Caulifloer salad caught my eye -- pickles, avocado and Tillamook white cheddar in addition to Buffalo cauliflower-- this was one tasty salad (320 calories, 12G protein, 1.33 kg CO2e), plus buttermilk ranch. Maybe next time I'll try the Mezze Crunch (regenerative organic chickpeas, hemp hearts, feta, spicy harissa pita) or the Earth Bowl (regenerative organic quinoa, Violife vegan feat, roasted beats and sweet potatoes). You can always build your own salad with a variety of fresh ingredients to choose from. This is a smallish space with about four booths and four tables. I was considering taking my salad to go until a booth opened up and I felt rather conspicuous eating at the booth while there were people waiting. I actually took the rest of my salad to go (quite a large portion). My salad was great and I'll eat the rest of it tonight. Looking forward to trying more of the menu.

Came in for a quick last minute dinner since we had an event to get to nearby. The place was not that busy but after us a crowd of people came in with a steady line. The concept is like a Chipotle for salad. Chose from either premade salad options or build your own salad. We did a few build your own salad. There are choices for the salad and you get 4 toppings of your choice, some in the metal bowls are premium options. Then you can get as many sauces as you would like. The salad was okay, but just what you may think, salad. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice.

They have cute bistro outdoor patio seating where dogs are allowed, and larger couch seating area in the back for larger groups or to casually work. The orange juice was fresh squeezed and delicious. Apparently the first (and only other) time I came here was Good Friday last year to meet a different friend for coffee. I didn't realize it had been almost a full year since I had been here. I've been wanting to try their food because it always looks so good on Instagram, and I wasn't disappointed. My friend ordered the mediterranean salad and a side of berries and tea, and I ordered the vegan soup of the day (tomato basil) and a side of fries. The fries were probably unnecessary because I didn't read that the soup came with bread, but I ate all of them anyway because they're delicious. Service was great, and we sat there for almost 2 hours and they didn't kick us out (unlike last year, it wasn't that crowded this time. We came at 2pm, so it was not as busy of a time, I guess). We were in the restaurant part, and the vibes are great. As a note: for counter service make sure you tip, as they still have servers bringing out the food for you (it's not like Panera). I feel super bad because I didn't realize that it wasn't included in the price. (We had looked at a few different places online and both Bar Siena and Hampton Social include an 18% gratuity automatically, and I think my brain was thinking that Cupitol also does that. But they do not. So many places do that now, some of which still ask you for an extra tip, so it's hard to keep track). Next time I go I'll tip double. I will definitely be back because everything was delicious and omg their pastries look so good.

Comes at the right intervals , and notices all the details to ensure we have everything we need even without asking. The food is good. Their pizzas are fun although we tend to focus on their salads. We both love the Thai crunch salad although it is much better with dressing on the side because there are two dressings and that way each bite tastes a little different. We also love their Caesar dressing - creamy and flavorful. Husband got it with shrimp and it was delectably seared with a a nice charred flavor. I like their wonton salad because other than the wontons, all the salad is actually vegetables - cabbage etc. but it's a little spicy for me so I get it without the chili sauce. Their bread and olive oil is delicious if you want some bread for the table - much better than it used to be a decade ago. The bread is soft and warm. The olive oil is seasoned. Husband also likes the split pea soup which is vegetarian and quite flavorful. Overall a cozy experience. Only caveat is that the host seems to seat people strangely. So if there's a type of table or booth you like and you see it's open, just request it. He's really flexible with requests.

We ordered the shrimp tacos, truffle parmesan fries, and the vodka pasta. The truffle fries were also really good and easy to share, especially with the extra aioli on the side. The vodka pasta was creamy, comforting, and just one of those solid dishes if you want something filling and reliable. I went with two friends to Metekhi. We focused on the vegetarian dishes this time (though we eat everything), and got the cold appetizer combo along with a tomato/cucumber salad; another cold appetizer with eggplant; a hot bean stew and another hot main course with mushrooms, potatoes and a little tomato sauce. The food was wonderful, and these days where you often get ripped off for really mediocre food, I was pleasantly surprised. Each dish was prepared with a lot of love and care, well seasoned, NOT overusing oil, butter or salt, and also beautifully presented. The herbal seasonings were unusual to me, but delicious. They have a lot of vegetarian/vegan options, which is really cool because I expected a menu with cuisine from this part of the world to be very heavy on meat and starches (I'm half-Polish, have been to Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic, and have tried other Eastern European and Central Asian cuisines). The decor is also really cozy and nicely decorated to convey the vibes of Georgia. Amazing how the inside of these strip malls can be transformed. Come and support this new gem in Skokie/Skevanston. I really want them to succeed, because sometimes I shake my head at what places fill crowds and get great ratings in this area. Metekhi is genuinely good. It's not cheap, but as bagel joints can charge nearly $15 for a sandwich today, it's seems to be the sad times we're in, so you want a memorable experience incl. food/service/ambience. Metekhi delivers on all three. Sharing a few dishes here with friends is a good idea.

Eric R. and I had a lot of time between landing in Chicago and checking into our hotel on Friday,…read moreso we decided that we could drive anywhere and have a leisurely lunch. We wanted to eat something we do not have access to, and Georgian food is definitely a cuisine we rarely have tried. I found Metekhi on yelp the night before while bookmarking a bunch of options in a certain radius, and off we went! When we entered, I noticed it is a very nicely decorated space from the entry all the way throughout the restaurant. There were figurines of dumplings on the bookshelf behind our table. There was only one other table of patrons at that point. The server brought us a carafe or water while we reviewed the menu. We were able to hear her explain some of it to the other table because it was pretty quiet in there, which helped. We ordered hot Georgian black tea, which came in a huge insulated carafe to Eric R.'s delight. We asked several questions, and ultimately ordered too much food on the premise that we wanted to try as much as we could! We got the ajaruli khatchapuri, the boat shaped bread with bubbling cheese and an egg yolk in the middle which we swirled around and then dipped the bread into (small size which we could not even finish); chashushuli, a beef stew with a tomato base that had Indian curry vibes but with completely different spices, topped with sliced red onion and parsley; and khinkali, veal soup dumplings which came with a demonstration from the figurine to show us how to eat them while they cooled a bit! The khinkali were to be eaten by holding the twisted "knob" of the dumpling, taking a bite, slurping the broth, taking another bite, slurping the rest of the soup, then eating the dumpling wrapper and meat filling. It was mind-blowingly delicious. We were too full to try the Georgian salad with walnut dressing or the honey cake. This would be a really fun place to come with a big group! Service was very good, but slow considering there were only two tables in the restaurant. The food and tea were piping hot and made to order. The beef was very tender, and the flavors were incredible. I would definitely recommend a visit here if you have not tried Georgian food! There were options for vegetarians, chicken eaters, and carnivores alike!
