I was really glad I went to this place I just got take out because we were camping and on top of that some restaurants I don't want to go in right now. I went and the lady was not very friendly she definitely could have been a little bit nicer. However the chicken broccoli was very delicious like the chicken was so tender and the rice was really good. the chicken fingers are absolutely my favorite And they had the best sweet and sour sauce. Eastern Paradise Asian Cuisine gets a thumbs up from us! So happy to be able to get great Chinese food here in Rochester NH. We ordered take out, General Tso's chicken, roast pork fried rice, egg rolls, fried dumplings, broccoli with garlic sauce (which isn't on their menu but they made it for us anyway). This new Asian restaurant in Rochester was recommended to me by a few of my co-workers. I was tempted, and got an order of take out! I ordered pan-fried dumplings, my weakness, and I found them to be cooked perfectly and well-seasoned. The rest of the food in my appetizer plate were pretty standard, an egg roll, chicken fingers, beef teriyaki. The chicken fingers were a bit on the skinny side, but this may be because we are accustomed to getting over-breaded chicken fingers from other restaurants. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The stand-out of this meal was definitely the pork fried rice. It was the freshest pork fried rice I have ever had, outside of Chinatown in San Francisco. The vegetables were absolutely crispy and colorful, as if they were diced at the moment I walked into the restaurant. The rice was not overloaded with soy sauce. It was perfect. I have had issues getting through on the phone maybe a third of the time. Either the line is busy or it rings and rings and no one picks up. Sat right next to serving station and kitchen. Waiter must be new. Did take drink orders, and food, nothing fancy - a couple lomein dishes and coconut shrimp. The first two dishes came out, but took about another 5 minutes before he brought out coconut shrimp - food was not hot. You'd think being this close to kitchen it's be piping hot. But this time buyer beware! we have always recommended Eastern Paradise to friends & family. the last couple of times we have gone we have been disappointed. we decided to try it again today figuring the last two times could have been from lack of help. well we will never ever go back! We ordered a pu pu platter for two along with pork fried rice. EVERYTHING was COLD. Told our waiter he nodded his head & walked away. Didn't offer to heat it nothing. What a pleasant surprise! We had read the reviews and all the high ratings and decided to give it a try. We can say ditto to all the reviews. We ordered a compliment of Chinese dishes and shared. They were all superb. The servings were generous and incredibly tasty. Having dined in Asian restaurants in Boston, New York, San Francisco, and China, we have to say that what we experienced matched the best of the best. The wine pourings were generous and the numerous beer offerings on tap was an unexpected treat. Service was prompt, attentive, and cordial. Only suggestions would be to dim the lights in the evening to create a little more atmosphere, and possibly offer a variety of sakes. Recently visited Eastern Paradise been there many times before and always quite satisfied. However, on this trip, I ordered General sows chicken and was very disappointed. The first four pieces are cut open had no chicken at all inside the next two pieces had microscopic pieces of chicken called it to the waitresses attention, and she noted that the dish is heavily breaded. I don't mind the heavenly bread, but I did we should have some chicken inside, so I didn't explore it any further, but she took it away, mentioned it to the staff, and took it off the bill. No visit from the manager later that evening we took home my dinner, partners leftovers, which was orange, chicken and upon cutting, hoping several pieces found the same condition. Very very disappointed. Our waitress was nice about it. She removed it from the final bill and she received a generous 20% tip because it wasn't her fault and finally I don't recommend anyone ordering the generals chicken or the orange chicken due to the lack of chicken inside the heavy breading. read more

My wife and I and another couple visited Eastern Paradise on Friday evening 08/17/18. We had been here for lunch a couple of weeks before, and had just loved it. This was our friends first visit, and they seemed to agree with us that the food is nice and fresh, all with distinctive flavors, and very tasty. I had the Thai Lover: Scallop, shrimp, chicken, basil mixed vegetables with spicy brown sauce, and it was wonderful. The service is friendly and responsive, the food comes out in a really reasonable time, and it's hot - all of what you want when you go out to eat. My review was almost a 5 star, but a couple of things made me pause because to me a 5 is spectacular with no issues. The first issue was that, as good as my wife's dinner was, it was - sad to say - just sort of bland in comparison to our previous experience. She had the Mango Chicken & Shrimp: Fried chicken & shrimp with vegetable in mango sauce. Like I said, it was okay, but neither of us could really taste anything remarkable, and the mango sauce was, well, just sort of gooey and sweet with no real taste of mango. The second issue is just me: I don't care for that particular sort of modern, sleek decor. To me, it just doesn't invoke any "Asian" flair. And, because of that minimalist decor, it was noisy to the point of distraction. So, noisy that we sort of had to lean across the table to hear each other at times. The noise issue would be a huge negative at a higher price point, but prices here are more than reasonable for the atmosphere and food quality of what you get. I highly recommend Eastern Paradise, and I'm sure that Sue and I will be back many times in the future. read more

This is probably the best Asian restaurant in rochester and surrounding towns, and their focus is Japanese cuisine with some Chinese options and some fusion outliers. We started with sushi rolls (scallop and tuna) which were pretty good. The mai-tais tasted a little off; I think they were missing orgeat and had no garnish, had to go fetch myself a straw ( this anti-straw thing is annoying). My entree was "Thai Lover" which was mostly veggies. It was ok but lacked that wow factor. Mimsy got chicken pad Thai, I tried it and it was Kinda drab. My go-to place for Chinese food in Rochester! I live on the other side of Rochester and will go across town, passing 3 or 4 other Chinese restaurants, just to get the fantastic food of Eastern Paradise. The others just can't compete with the flavor, consistency, and deliciousness served here. I always order to-go and everything is piping hot after my ~12 min drive home. My go-to's are General Tso's Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, and their amazing crab rangoons! The kids beg for Crab Rangoons from there any time I mention I am getting Chinese. Ate here for the first time today. Don't really see myself being in a rush to go back. The place is new, and aesthetically, it's beautiful. Comfortable seating, lots of open space, and a gorgeous bar and hibachi. That's pretty much where the positives stop. We arrived at nearly 11:30, since the website indicated they opened at 11. We were informed that they wouldn't be open for ten more minutes. Once we were seated, no less than three different servers came to our table to ask what we wanted to drink- because apparently they weren't communicating with each other at all. I will say that the prices are very reasonable. We both had the lunch special for $8.25, which came with your choice of soup or salad, fried rice, and you get to choose your main course from a list with a pretty good variety of options. I had the wonton soup, pork fried rice, crab rangoons and general tso's chicken. The wonton soup WOULD have been delicious, except that it was lukewarm at best. The flavor was exceptional, but I was a little worried about the temperature considering they had just barely opened for the day. There were quite literally two crab rangoons on my plate, and while they looked pretty, the flavor was subpar at best. The general tso's chicken was decent, but not memorable. The fried rice wasn't terrible, but was very light and a bit bland. Overall, if you're looking for cheap food in a nice setting that isn't bad but also isn't particularly good, you'll do okay here. Personally, I was underwhelmed and will probably stick with China Palace on the other side of town. read more
