After a serious injury last year I got the all clear from the Doctor who said I can get back to the gym without any restrictions, prior to my injury I visited the boxing gym in Coatbridge however the workouts there are to strenuous at this time in my recovery so I opted for Easterhouse Gym.
I always new that it existed however never really to the option to workout , but boy am I pleased that I did the facilities are first class and all the equipment is brand new and easy to get to grips with, also if required you can get your own personnel trainer however that comes at a cost out with your membership fee. The rest of the centre which is fairly bid is used as you would expect by the local community for various activities including netball, basketball and the old favourite five a side football in addition there is a small cafe area to chill when you have finished whatever it was you were doing or maybe just for a rest and a blether. The staff are all well versed in relation to all the activities on offer and are very approachable , the fee structure is in keeping with all council run centres , one thing I did notice during my workout was the number of elderly people in keeping fit as opposed to working out ( good on them ) but as this is the Easter Holidays there was a distinct lack of younger people, I would have thought that the place would have been more busy with them but alas no.
On conclusion this facility is first class and affordable for all whatever age range you belong to, you would pay top dollar for the same facilities in any private gym in Glasgow, only one wee negative and this is nitpicking the shower area although clean perhaps could do with a lick of paint but apart from that its well worth a visit any day of the week , before my accident I was paying almost four times as much for basically the same machines etcetera. Four stars but would have been give but for the shower area. read more
