Grits, eggs, and sausage patties.
Deanna C.

This place is it! I come to Baltimore monthly and want grits, eggs, and sausage. I walked in fully expecting to be there for a while but walked out with my food in 5 minutes on a Saturday. this place is every star. My grits were thoroughly cooked, the sausage has a great flavor.

Strong character. Personal experience. While it doesn't make up for lack of tables (It is the East Perry CAREY OUT!). Grits are great!!! Buttered and baconed! Lots of combination meals. Open til 4.

Hobo Sandwich $9.11 for what!!

I'm very disappointed!!! My sandwiches are always limited on everything! I don't understand why they cut slithers of bacon, my beef sausage is not a half of sausage!!!! I won't be returning period!!!!

I had french toast, scrambled eggs w/cheese, bacon, and side of scrample. Good, Good Breakfast!

Our new walkable breakfast diner...no Livermush but scrapple...yes

Right in Hamilton by the library on Harford Road. Going to give 5 stars in the diner category. This isn't Woodberry Kitchen but great food at a great price. Perry East is local place with two nice Asian American ladies running the show...a few additional short cooks on the grill...all catering to a nice steady line of breakfast go'ers...all day long. It is cheap good food with what is normal breakfast food. They have some typical lunch items too. And it's cheap.... My boy got a $5.00 and change pancakes and eggs meal....also a meat. Two eggs...three large and terrific pancakes...and two ok pre-made (not hand patted) sausage patties. Enormous...I stepped in like any good father to rescue him. :). He called the pancakes "vanilla tasting gold"...makes no sense but you get his meaning. I wanted breakfast but it was 11. Even though you can get breakfast at 4pm here I thought I'd try the test of a good diner. The cheeseburger. It was scrumptious. One patty...dripping American cheese...LTO. Good and didn't last long at all. Some things you should know. Right by the library in Hamilton. It's easy to miss as it's an old building. Look for pictures of pancakes and other breakfast items on the building. They have grits....they have scrapple. Great breakfast sandwiches too. Oh and only about 5 tables for eat in. Most carry out.

Hands down my absolute FAVORITE brunch spot in all of Baltimore!! I've been here multiple times,…read moreand genuinely everything I've ever ordered has been amazing. The quality of the food is consistently so good, and it's one of those places I always look forward to coming back to! I definitely recommend "The Basics 2 Eggs & Meat" because you seriously can't go wrong with a good traditional breakfast! Another favorite of mine is "A Bit of Everything," which is perfect if you still want that classic breakfast but with a little something sweet on the side. Their ricotta-stuffed French toast is also AMAZING! It's rich, delicious, and definitely on the sweeter side, so if you have a sweet tooth, I highly recommend it! And OMG, I have to talk about their grits!! I'm a HUGE grits lover, and I genuinely think these are the BEST grits in all of Baltimore! If you love grits as much as I do, please do yourself a favor and order them as a side. They're seriously one of my favorite things on the menu! Their drinks are also great! I especially love their mimosas, and the mimosa sampler is such a fun option if you want to try different flavors. The restaurant itself is also super cute, with beautiful decor and a really nice ambiance that makes it perfect for brunch! My only real complaint is that this place is pretty frequently packed, which can sometimes affect the service. While the staff is nice, there have been times when service felt a little slow or it took quite a while before our server checked back in. I do wish they were a bit more attentive, especially when it comes to checking on tables throughout the meal. That being said, I absolutely LOVE this place, and the food alone keeps me coming back! Despite the occasional slower service and how busy it can get, I genuinely think it's worth it. If you're looking for a great brunch spot in Baltimore with delicious, high-quality food, this is definitely one I'd recommend!!

We also grabbed an order of their super skinny and crispy french fries. The total with drinks came to around the mid $40s (before tip) and the customer service was friendly and helpful, as well as a bonus short wait for the food. Everything was delicious. They also offer a great variety of sandwiches and drinks at brunch and a great seasonal menu. Absolutely worth your time if you are in the area and looking for great atmosphere, reasonable prices, and fantastic service.

The rest of the menu is American stuff. I've as of now tried both of these and very content with the taste and filling of these two, the price is reasonable per the portion and yummyness($12.49) plus tax about $13.25. The only thing I would change a bit is making sure that the juice from the bulgogi doesn't soak the bread too much cuz then it's mushy. I like a crunchy texture to my subs, but the may be just my preference. Both the son and the mom are super nice, if you become a regular it's very nice to have people know what you want right away. The atmosphere is very warm and friendly. I hope that they can incorporate more korean food to their menu, at least 2 more that have a different protein so we have a bit more variety. Though I understand why the options for kfood are limited given the area's population. Things to keep in mind: - When you order let them know if you want it to go or to eat there. Nobody can read minds, but they will do their best to ask you prior to packaging to confirm. - It can get busy so sometimes transaction may take longer because people are multitasking. - - - Don't rip out the receipt, you might be taking the wrong copy. Wait for the cashier to hand it to you or simply ask. -If you have questions about a product, ask them and don't assume. Yes. There is a big menu and pamphlets available and they provide brief item description but if that's not clear, just ask. They also have prepackaged salads, fruit and a few sweet treats, along with MissVickies chips, and bottle drinks. It's a cafe so the basics. Overall, really nice experience. Tots recommended :3

It was so good that my dad and I repeatedly visited every morning while in Baltimore. The waitress was soo friendly and kind. The first day we just did take out to get a sandwich and coffee. She filled up my dad's coffee mug for $1 which was super nice. She also explained the menu and was very accommodating. The food was great as well. We ordered a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and a bacon and onion sandwich. Both were made to perfection and fast. They made sure our order was brought to us in a swift manor. The coffee was delicious as well. Really strong but it was great to start the morning. The ambiance was nice. They had great signage outside for take out and for the sit in dining experience. Once you walk in you will feel at home and comfy. They also offer outside seating in front of the diner which is nice on a nice day. We sat outside on our last day and the owner came and set up the umbrella and ensured we did not anything else. It was a great experience. If you are in downtown Baltimore I suggest you check it out! A little late to the party, but we finally made it to Miss Shirley's this past Monday after hearing…read moregood things about it for years. We started things off with the appetizers, and the Hot Honey Fried Chicken Deviled Eggs were absolutely phenomenal. Easily one of the best things we ordered. They were so good that I honestly could've eaten an entire order by myself and been perfectly happy. We also tried the house-made cornbread. Their version was a little different from what I'm used to and almost gave me French toast stick vibes. The consistency was good and it definitely wasn't bad, just a different take on cornbread than I expected. Between the two appetizers, though, I'm choosing those deviled eggs every single time. For my meal, I ordered three scrambled eggs with cheese, Cranberry Maple Turkey Sausage, shredded hash browns, an everything biscuit with cream cheese, and pancakes. Everything was good, but those pancakes were easily the star of the meal. Honestly, some of the best pancakes I've ever had. Perfect consistency, fluffy in the middle with slightly crispy edges, and flavorful enough that you really didn't need much syrup. The eggs were solid -- simple scrambled eggs with cheese done right. The Cranberry Maple Turkey Sausage was really, really good as well. I'm personally not a huge fan of shredded hash browns because I prefer home fries or diced breakfast potatoes, but that's more of a texture preference than anything being wrong with them. I'm also not much of a bagel person, so I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the everything biscuit, but surprisingly, I really enjoyed it. My lady ordered the brisket skillet, which had brisket, scrambled eggs, shredded potatoes, peppers, and everything mixed together. Very flavorful, and the portion was definitely generous. For drinks, she had the Pineapple Coconut Colada, which was good and definitely had a heavy pour that day. I had Shirley's Crush. I'm already a big fan of orange crushes, and theirs was really good -- flavorful, refreshing, and they definitely weren't stingy with the alcohol. Our waitress, Melissa, was amazing. Very attentive, helpful, friendly, and she took great care of us throughout the entire meal. Great service can really add to an experience, and she definitely did that for us. I honestly don't have any real complaints about Miss Shirley's. The food was good, the service was excellent, portions were generous, and there were so many other things on the menu that caught my attention. I already know I'll be going back so I can start scratching some more items off the list. The only downside worth mentioning is parking, but that's pretty normal for a city location. There's a parking garage directly across the street, which is extremely convenient, but we paid around $24 for maybe an hour and a half to two hours. A little pricey for that amount of time, but I guess you're paying for the convenience of being literally across the street. Overall, my first experience was a solid 5 out of 5. I can only speak for my visit, but the food, drinks, service, and overall experience were all on point. Definitely recommend, and I'll definitely be back.
