The bartender was friendly and welcoming, and I ordered a burger and fries that were absolutely delicious. You can tell the chef genuinely aims to please, so I don't think you'll be disappointed with the food. Part of the fun is actually finding your way in. I won't give away the secret, but let's just say the elevator requires a special code to get you upstairs. That little touch makes it feel like a true speakeasy experience. Definitely a cool hidden gem in Baltimore and a spot I'd visit again!

We sat at the bar and were well taken care of by the friendly and attentive bartender. He kept the diet cokes filled and answered questions about the menu. I ordered Chef Chad's chicken caesar cobb without the croutons and with grilled chicken instead of fried (an easy gluten free modification they were happy to make). The bacon, pickled jalapeno, and celery really made this a standout caesar. We also got a side of rosemary parm fries which were yummy too. The whole meal was filling and under $30. Really not bad for lunch! This was a good reminder that The Food Market is still good and there's a reason they've been around for so many years.

Although the breading was phenomenal, the chicken was a bit tough. The FRIES were divine. I loved my virgin Watermelon lemonade and my husband enjoyed 2 sangrias. We will definitely go back to try their regular menu items !!!

Since it was New Year's eve, there were few patrons or maybe this is the usual scene? Don't know. But there are some comfy couches by the front in which a young couple with a baby was nursing. Another couple was just finishing up dinner and started to head out. We were the only two diners for about 20 minutes before another couple came in for dinner. There were also about two or three people at the bar. So basically a very quiet place. No one at the hostess stand, only a woman at the bar. She eventually sat us and took our order. Things were slow but not so slow that I would complain. I would surmise that most of the staff was off that evening. Food was also slow in coming so there might have been a small crew in the kitchen as well. We ordered the mezze appetizer. Nothing to rave about. It was just a plate with vegetables and hummus. We both got the wagyu burger and fries. The whole meal was quite decent. The meat was cooked to the correct temperature and the fries were crispy. It was quite filling for me. Maybe it was NYE but everything was quiet and nice.

Then came the jerk lamb chops with fried rice and crispy green beans. I don't even really like lamb chops, but these made me a fan. Everything was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. If I had to pick things out that made this not be a five star experience I'd pick the following: -for 600 dollars for two people you'd want it to be the best meal you've ever had. It's not that. -was there anything I could say was the best thing i have ever eaten? Not really it's all well prepared but the only thing i would really crave again is the espresso mousse. -the bread being room temp/burnt bring its down , i understand going for the rustic French look, but slicing stale bread and serving it with house butter is meh. In general I'd say , it's a great restaurant, the food and drinks are top quality, but when you're paying as much as you're paying for a special meal it doesnt necessarily take the ball across the goal line. My friend said I had to come here. We did. As soon as we stepped out of the Uber the adventure began. The building is so out dated but the entrance door held its charm. Neon lit Edgar portrait reading from a book his Annabel Lee. Complete with a bouquet of flowers. To the right more words of the writer surrounded with a few tables and chairs for those willing to chill in the cold. Inside was no different. Several crows, skulls everything you'd expect. And a well stocked bar. Many writings on the wall, articles, awards, etc all added to the vibe and theme. And of course dimly lit but you could still read the menu. We were guided to the back for our party of 5, in a corner away from everyone else. That made it easy for us to converse as we perused the menu exclaiming this and that of the dreadful names used and deathly ingredients mixed in. It definitely made it more appetizing. After working all day I was ready for a drink and settled on the To Isadore; gin, lavender syrup, lemon squeeze topped with segura cava. That hit the spot. Unfortunately, I had eaten quite a bit on this trip and forced myself to order the Chef Salad. Nothing more to say there. My wife, though, ordered the seafood lasagna. Never had that and it didn't sound like something I could get into. I was wrong. This is Baltimore. The seafood here is astounding. It was delicious and had to take a couple spoon fulls. My friend ordered the double beef patty burger. I was jealous until he offered me a bite. That was really good too, and juicy. If you're looking for an experience and are not too afraid you may want to visit Annabel's. I do recommend it and do insist coming after the sun has been well down.

My friend and I both got a cup of the crab chowder, which was tasty, if a bit weird-looking when the oil separated in it. I got a crab cake, and it didn't seem special compared to other crab cakes I've had, perhaps a bit dry too, but it was definitely fresh. I also went rogue and got a watermelon drink that was good enough where multiple would be dangerous! Everyone seemed to like their food, and my husband even tried clam strips and enjoyed them! It was very spacious and a very clean look. The music was good. It was surprisingly pretty empty in there for a Sunday afternoon- I believe there was a football game, so that could be why. I was a little frustrated that there was no indication of what time brunch ended. When I made my reservation and reached out to get some information, I was told that the kitchen closed 30 minutes after my reservation. Which was super frustrating. However, we did end up going. The service was cool, they were nice and attentive. The views were really nice. The presentation of the food was amazing; however no one was thrilled by the meals; mediocre at best, which was a little bit disappointing. I had the shrimp and grits. It had crumbles of popcorn on it, which I've never had before, and I did not like it, to be honest. It wasn't a lot of crumbles, but it was definitely an odd texture and an odd taste. Definitely could've done without the popcorn. At the end of our meal, there was a discrepancy with our bill where we were overcharged for several bottomless mimosas. It was corrected, however, it did leave a bad taste in our mouths considering the place was pretty much empty and it wasn't busy enough to make that kind of a mistake.
