Buying new tires and/or noticing uneven wear on old ones are good reasons to get a "front end" (or 4-wheel) alignment - and this is probably the best place in the county to come for one: the quality of service and their pride in doing things "right" can't be matched (nor possibly what they pay their very selectively-hired mechanics/technicians - who may also be able to notice and address other existing or potential "issues" cars they work on might have - that other mechanics either didn't catch, mention, or know how or have the right tools to fix) - so this place should be kept in mind not just for alignment, suspension, and brakes, but even just maintenance. Despite insisting upon using very high-quality parts and only hiring highly-skilled, very experienced and knowledgeable workers, they still try to lower costs for their customers by reducing "book rate" times and/or "discounting" retail costs of parts used - so no matter how much you might end up paying it will probably be less than it is actually "worth" - plus if there is ever any "problem" they will make it "right". Because of all this, they tend to be pretty busy and while just walking in is possible, an appointment is highly recommended - even just for "an estimate". read more

I have taken my used car to get alignments at ECA for years and after a recent "new" Tire purchase, I needed to get a new alignment. I spoke to Jay and he was able to get my car in for other repairs related to the control arm bushings, pinion steering, etc as some of the bushings were shot or one was totally gone.(Previous mechanics FAILED to spot even when I complained of HARD responses after hitting little bumps in the city streets NOT NORMAL with "New" Shocks.) I have re-evaluated these other outside mechanics and they FAILED where East County ALignment(ECA) exceeded in superior workmanship.(Aron, Jesus & Jay) I even got a ride home by the owner and that was very helpful and reduced a lot of stress. The results were fantastic, and the ride of my old used car is extremely comparable to when it was brand "new". Firm smooth steering and smooth over bumps in the road. The way it should be.(Other mechanics lied and I still had the original factory equipment) Too much fraud int he car repair industry. Other safety inspections done by Firestone personnel were extremely Faulty and the technician lied at La Mesa Firestone on tire pressure readings when he tires were 1 day old at 40PSI not 31PSI. (Claiming oil leaks after an oil change that were non-existent) Firestone claimed they did NOT have the "parts" to fix my car and ECA did ! ECA also does regular car repairs. East county alignment for my motorhome was recommended by John Pilchers, my Mercedes Sprinter mechanic. East County aligned it (cost more than original estimate because they had to sell me camber bolts) . After driving it, I noticed a slight click/ clunk when I made a left hand turn. Because of COVID I didn't take it back to them right away because I wanted to buy new struts and the Sprinter needs to be aligned after strut installation. I realize coming back with a complaint a year after the work isn't the proper way to do things, but COVID had us locked down. East county would install the struts and recharge me for alignment if I wanted. Because I had no faith in them, when I received my struts, I had them installed elsewhere and aligned at Roger Daniels in Santee. Guess what? No more Click/clunk noise from my motorhome. It would be nice if they did it right the first time without a repeat visit. read more

I took my 2017 Cadillac. into East County Allignment , in September 2018, I reported the vehicle pulled to the right. I returned 3 additional times, between September and February, reporting the same problem. On my last visit I was told that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle, implying it was my imagination . Further stating it could not be repaired as nothing was wrong. The vehicle continues to pull to the right and I must take it elsewhere and pay again to have the vehicle properly repaired. Unscrupulous business practices. Trying to take advantage of customers! I made an appointment for a wheel alignment because I had just got new tires on my Mercedes. That was about the only easy thing that happened! I dropped the car off at 8 am (with an appointment), the lady at the front desk called me at 9 am asking for my special security socket to get my wheels off which I informed her there wasn't one...when I dropped it off I had already told her it didn't have one (btw I had just purchased new tires at Costco and they had no problems taking my wheels off). She called another hour later saying they couldn't get the wheels off because it needed a special socket (wtf?!?) and I told her Costco as well as my husband had no problems getting the wheels off. She asked me if I could go to Costco and borrow the socket...seriously?!?!?!? and if not they would just do the best the could. My husband called back and told them to use a standard 17 mm. We were shocked that they hadn't even tried! They called back and hour later to tell me that I needed camber bolts and that it was going to cause serious issues with tire wear. We hadn't notice that the car pulled at all prior to taking it in. He rambled on and wouldn't give my husband specific numbers (my hubby has knowledge of cars). It all seemed so fishy. The total for two camber bolts and labor was $420. My husband said no thanks that we would just pick it up. The guy on the phone got really snippy and told him that this was what they did for a business as if my hubby was making the wrong decision. When we picked it up we had to ask them to give us the numbers from the alignment. It took them a good 10 minutes to come up with them. When we got home and compared them with the specs that Mercedes specifically gives for the GLK 350 all the numbers were within range. Camber Range: -0.6 to 0.1 Your Left: -.125 Your Right: -.375 Toe Range: 0.00 to 0.17 Your Left: 0.0625 Your Right: 0.0625 So moral of the story don't take your vehicle here! I don't know if it was because I was a girl or I owned a Mercedes that they thought they could pull one over on me but regardless...it's totally shady! Terrible! read more

Good experience - Professionals! I do all my own maintenance on our family vehicles but when I need a alignment I come to the professionals here. The customer service is great and honest. It's the only place that has seen my vehicle in the last 8 years. We just got into a house this year and are tight with funds as it is. They diagnosed the issues and told me what they thought needed to be replaced and I replaced the parts at home and brought it back for the alignment and wow it feels great and drives straight. I trust this shop 100% and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Also know I don't like to spend my hard earned money just anywhere but this place is honest and trustworthy. Okay. Brought my sedan in here to have an alignment. Steering was off just a little. Got the car back and not only was the alignment worse, the steering wheel was at 10 o'clock!! Put it on lift again, same problem but now it is 2 o'clock!!. Nightmare and no restitution, said it was a problem with my car. Took it to a Firestone, they fixed it the first time and also got free alignment for life, for not much more that these hucksters charged me. Stay Away!! Well this one fell into the same category as many of the rest. Great service, but bad pricing. Was told 2 different prices for alignment 52 and 60. When I went in it became 86. I did expalin the discrepancy to the tune of $6 savings. HUH how does this always happen at every mechanic. This is why I fix my own truck. The irritating part was that I called around for a good price, and this would not have made my cut. But I had an appt. and couldnt get one on short notice elsewhere.. OH well at least they do a decent job, were fast and friendly. I did get the phone call for the $400 repair needed, but hey even TOYOTA does that these days. I am updating this review because the new manager in charge has updated the shops policy to avoid making the same mistakes. I was a bit miffed at the negative reviews but after talking with Andy on the phone I went ahead and made an appointment a week in advance for my VW Cabrio. The car was making noise on the front left wheel and wanted it checked and aligned. The morning of the appointment I arrived on time and was greeted by Anna and Andy with friendly and courteous smiles. They received my keys and immediately went to work. After about fifteen minutes Anna came back and said they identified the issue as the spud nut had reversed itself and that the hub assembly and bearings were damaged beyond repair and should DEFINATELY not be driven any further. Anna said the only parts they suggested were available in Central California and wanted to stay with OEM or better parts. The parts should arrive in 24 hours, by 10am then they would install the parts then align the wheels. I agreed then left. Next day about 9am I received a call by Anna saying they were complete with the repairs and alignment and the car was ready for PU. I went down and saw the damaged parts which were REALLY damaged, paid my bill and left. As I left the garage, I mused at the friendly business like folks behind the desk, Anna, Andy and of course Moses the Mechanic and thanked them once again even though I was in the car alone. It was a bit unnerving to realize the wheel could have come off while I was rolling or worse on the freeway. I realized they had my best interest at hand saying I should not drive the car anymore unless repaired. As in the beginning of my review, I am still miffed at the negative reviews and how "angry" or bitter many of the folks sounded. I still believe in the "word of mouth" being the best review of all, but with social media being what it is, being very cautious just reading reviews. Go down to the office and meet the folks at East County Alignment first hand and THEN make your decision. For me, I am very grateful I did and that I highly recommend. read more

I took my car into have the rear struts done, while there they said the rear brakes needed to be done also, I had taken the drums off before and had seen how low they were so I agreed. I didn't write a review when they got the car back to me more than 2 hours late nor when I immediately heard a rattle back there that wasn't there the day before, but, This is my 200,000 mile old reliable hyundai that I never drive (except once a month to make sure everything works), so even though this all happened 6 months ago, I've probably put less than 100 miles on it. Anyway, I drove it the other day and it started grinding, so I spent my morning off today inspecting and re-assembling (correctly, this time) the drum brakes. The adjuster had never been spread when installed, so it had slowly been working it's way loose. Well, it came off inside my drum. I only post because this car never sees any pressure on the brakes, if I'd been on the freeway and actually needed them to work properly, it could've been a safety issue. Also when they say they won't send txts (advertising or whatever) and then they do, that's annoying. read more

Brought the F250 in for an alignment. Was in and out in less than an hour and the price was fantastic. When I left, my tires were perfectly aligned with a printout of all the specs as well. We got new tires and needed an alignment and we're recommended to this place by someone else. The woman at the counter was very polite and sweet but the guy was extremely rude. They looked at my truck as a walk In Which was appreciated but they said it needed a bunch of work. I decided to wait until the truck was fixed to verify that it did indeed need the repairs. Long story short the repairs were done elsewhere because of the extremely poor attitude of the man at the counter. Jay W were extremely helpful and super nice about explaining everything about my car and suggestions I could do that won't cost me an arm and a leg all at once. I needed an alignment so I asked my mechanic to recommend a place. He said he sends all his alignment work to East County Alignment. So I went. Lo and behold this is the same place that i went to 20 years ago to fix a bent frame issue on my old SUV. They did amazing work then. Fixed it like it never happened. So I go in for the alignment for my Subaru. Had a bit of a pull and noise in the undercarriage. They took care of my alignment, identified the noise, and it was fixed the next day. My battery was a little weak, so they came out to give me a jump and make sure I was taken care of. All I can say is that they do OUTSTANDING work, and they get it right the first time. I'm not a certified mechanic but I know my way around a car very well. I came in for a vibration diagnostic and they checked my car completely. Turns out my rear transmission mount was bad and the cheap new tires I had were slightly out of round. They also checked my brakes and I need rear pads. Also diagnosed a check engine light. The tech spent over an hour on my car but I was only charged for a half an hour. Jay went over everything with me and prioritized repairs needed. I brought in a 1974 Lamborghini because they were one of the few shops that had a good reputation for being able to align these old cars. It was the second time I had the car in (the first being about two years ago), and they did a great job. The manager, Jake, actually talked me out of some work that I thought I needed. He explained why I didn't. While I was there, they somehow missed another customer's appointment and he had to leave without an alignment. Jake felt so bad about it that he called the customer and offered to reschedule for free. They really care about their customers, and there are newspaper articles on the walls to prove it. Discount Tire in Pacific Beach recommended East County Alignment & Brake when I had my tires replaced and they told me I needed alignment (which I kinda already knew, but tried to ignore). What a fantastic recommendation! They are fair, fast, and do excellent work. They noticed my creaking rear end (on my car) and suggested a stabilizing bushing replacement. Had my Sprinter RV aligned here. They seemed very knowledgeable and did the service within 3 hours. I talked to the mechanic and he explained that the camber was too high in one side and the toein was off quite a bit. This was wearing the outside edges of the front tires. Brought my vehicle when they get a lot of work done paid this place over $3000 in repairs for a month later the have the same exact damages done for the supposed repairs they fixed. They say they have alignment warranties one month and a 1000 mile warranty which they did not honor the day I received my vehicle the steering wheel will still crooked however I was not able to bring it back until a different date which I did call them to inform them of the problem which they said they would take care of it no problem. When I showed up it was a much different story. All the repairs that they made where magically broken or bent no warranty in site. Stay away from this place especially there manager Jake is nothing but a sneaking conniving hustler. This place should be shut down dont say I never warned you. read more

If you're looking for Honesty, Integrity and the best Customer Service around, East County Alignment is the only place to get it done. I never thought I would go to any other place than Toyota to get to get my vehicle worked on, well unfortunately Toyota has lied to me on multiple occasions and cost me thousands of dollars when the problem was a simple as a alignment. ( I won't get into to much detail but come to find out Toyota's alignment machine hasn't been calibrated, they told me I had radial pull on all 4 and excessive run out with only 7k miles on my brand new tires; well that wasn't the case at all, they also stated my truck would only work with factory OEM tires and not the Falcon AT3W I had on. ) East County Alignment went above and beyond to help me even though they were booked up. They stayed late to squeeze me, walked me through all their thoughts on what it could be without jumping to conclusions and fixed the problem in a hour. ( Now let me remind you I've spent day in and day out over the last year with Toyota for a problem this simple) These guys are amazing, if you ever want reassurance that the problem will be fixed these guys got your back. I've been taking my Lazy Daze RV to ECA for 3 years now. I've spent about $10,000 in parts and upgrades over the years. Recently, I received I a text from ECA asking me if I needed any services. Given my last RV trip was 7k miles, I thought I would have the rear drum brake shoes changed and an oil service performed. I asked for a quote and was told it would be around $1000. When I asked the service advisor why it was so much, he told me they would need to drop the axle and that since it was a dually it costs double. Now, I'm not a mechanic but I do understand how drum brakes work and what's all involved with oil change. Anyway, I called a few other shops including the Ford dealership in Kearney and was quoted $550 for new drums and shoes along with the oil change. I'm a big fan of supporting small businesses and my family had an auto repair shop growing up. Given the quote was way off and the fact that the information provided to me was inaccurate, I thought it was best to call ECA back to clarify what I wanted done. I mentioned to the service advisor the ECA's quote was nearly double what other had quoted me, he gave me the standard sales response, " We are not the cheapest because they use OEM parts and fix it right" . I questioned him about dropping the axel and he said he didn't work up the quote the owner Kevin did. I asked to speak to Kevin thinking maybe there was still some confusion, but was told he was gone for the day and to go to the Ford dealership if I didn't like the price. If the job justifies $1000 for the work to be performed then I would happily pay it. However, for a rear drum brake replacement and an oil change $1000 is a total rip off and they know it. It's clear they don't value repeat clientele, otherwise; they would of had the owner call me and explain why the quote was a complete rip off. ECA, Please remove my number from your system and stop sending me text messages asking ME to give you the opportunity to work in MY vehicle. There are plenty of other places out there that do good work for a fair price. I will no longer refer any friends to them as the customer service has gone down hill over the years. It was a very disappointing experience here on 8/09/18 after they had worked with my tire company (Discount Tires) to replace broken lug nuts on July 5th. (they did charge me anything) Between them and Discount they covered the lug nuts. However one good deed does not deserve a wrong deed. I came in to get my front brakes replaces on the same vehicle on 8/09/18. They were screeching bad with no warning. They said they needed to be replaced but the rear brakes were also leaking fluid from the cylinders and those needed to be replaced as well. Their over the phone quote for front brakes was about $300. Then when I brought it in, it went up to $400 plus $500 for the back brakes. Really $900! So I said no and took it to my favorite shop and it was diagnosed as only needing front brakes and there was absolutely NO brake fluid leaking from the back!!!. The other shops fees was $295.36. Do they count on people not wanting to pay their $59.50 fee for the diagnosis? I paid their **** fee and went to my shop. I feel l was taken advantage of as a woman but this lady is smarter than them. Shame on you! read more
