I showed up right at 6 o'clock on a Saturday when they were closing in dire need of a simple Price Pfister O-ring. There was already a customer inside, and the young girl turned me away at the door. I showed her the part and she said we have so many of these. I told her I knew exactly which one it was, it's a universal seal And she responded with... "It could take us up to five minutes to find it and we are closed. Sorry." I started to appeal, but realized it just wasn't gonna do any good. It's not like I was here to shop or spend a bunch of time, I'm in a bind and needed a damn seal. read more

This store is a neighborhood gem. Everyone is knowledgeable and friendly. I want to specifically recognize Anna, who repairs lawn and garden type equipment, and sales. She was fantastic and very helpful. We had two leaf blowers which were in dire condition, and pointed out some things that were helpful. I appreciate the support and the recommendations. And, their habanero bird seed works most of the time on the squirrels and raccoons--until they get used to it of course! read more

if I could I'd give them a negative 10. wanting to help this local business I had my friend bring his blower that he had bought a few months ago for about $700 for them to fix it was not working properly. After 2 weeks they called him and said the engine is blown and warranty will not cover it that was about 2 weeks ago. He went to buy a new blower and pickup his blower that is in perfect condition physically but with a blow engine and they told him that they had tossed it. my friend never received a call or a text that they will "dispose his blower if he doesn't come right-away. short of it is they kept His old couple month old blower and gave him a $55 discount on the new blower he purchased Because they had also charged him $55 to service the old blower. they basically stole his old blower and they will do it to yours if you take your tools there to be fixed. The guy in pony tail told me they should have not even given him the $55 discount. He also said if I go back there he will call the police on me in which I replied I must be stupid to go there again. What a shame I know too many people here and I will make sure everyone I know boycotts this place. read more

I love this store and equally enjoy the staff. Having needed 2 separate repairs on equipment, they solved one right at the counter in 15 minutes (no charge) and taught me how to address the issue in the future. My second repair was turned around in 2 days with a nominal charge - I was kept fully informed along the way. Sure, they're going to be a little more expensive than big box, but it's a small business with a wonderful team. I encourage you to get to know them and enjoy browsing our neighborhood hardware store. Outside of hardware, the unique gifts and other products are super interesting. read more

I use to go to owner Steve Ragsdale's Ace on Canton Rd when his family owned it. Then a few years ago he moved over here. So of course I try to come here whenever I can.... It's inside a busy Kroger shopping center with lots of restaurants and a coffee shop. If you're facing Kroger then the Ace Hardware is to the right corner near Biscuits and More. What has always set Steve's store from other Ace Hardware is the people that work here. Not only are they well trained and exceptionally courteous. They're people that you actually like. The kind that you wouldn't mind inviting over for dinner kind of people.... We had come in here looking for an item that in fact it was Steve that first introduced it to me. It's called P Eliminator. It gets out cat pee odor like nobody's business. Best of all it's a locally owned business which makes it even more special because we like supporting our local small business. They were out of it but recommended another item called Unique Pet care that works just as well. I'm going to try it and see what happens. The store itself has a whole section of local items. Things such as food or handcrafted items such as wooden bird house that not only makes it fun to browse but gives a person the opportunity to support your local small mom and pop operation. This is NOT YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD ACE you grew up with. This is a convenient store filled with gift merchandise and household items. It's more of a hallmark store under disguise. Employees are not familiar with any of the equipment/tools. strongly urge : Do not use them for any "small engine repair" they are not educated, equipped, professional and most importantly: they are not honest. The owner/mgr BJ is the ringleader of this circus and he makes zero truthful effort. Your repair item will likely linger for weeks while your "1ST on the list". Sucks to be 1ST here. read more

I went in there to buy a 50 qt bag of potting soil but it was all hidden behind drainage pipes and some other old junk. I managed to dig it out but it was totally waterlogged so weighed about 100lbs. I bought and paid for it. There was a slightly slow assistant at the store probably 12-14 but he offered not help at all. read more

This is NOT ur neighborhood ace hardware. A) BLOATED prices. $19 for a cent register that's $8 max LITERALLY everywhere INCLUDING the ace store down the road!? I am one to support small businesses and came to this Ace hardware 3 times for something simple ... they lack stock. The answer with u can go order it off the website so not personable. And when exchanging a vent register that did not have a matching larger one like I was told the day before they didn't except it's return (it was wrapped in shrink wrap with a price label on it ) and I was told I could. I asked the girl why they were refusing to let me exchange it-- she said it's common sense. Wow. Is it? Horrible ppl terrible customer service. I'm telling you do not waste ur time. If you have a Tru Cut Reel mower this is not the place to bring it to have it serviced or repaired. The technicians are not equipped with the knowledge, skill set or tools to fix your Tru Cut Reel mower. I left the mower there for over 2 months to have them change the oil, sharpen the blades, and install a new set of rear tires. After a month I asked how it was coming and I got the reply that they were having trouble taking off the wheels to replace them. After 2 months I asked how it was coming and I got the same reply, we are having trouble taking of the wheels to replace them. I asked if they had done any service on the mower and they said no because the main issue was to replace the wheels. I picked up the mower in the same condition when I dropped it off over 2 months ago. I spoke to the manager about the incident and he told me he was very proud of his staff because they tried their very best to fix it. There is no reason why they didn't figure it out a month ago and let me know so I could have taken it elsewhere where they know what they are doing. Would not recommend you waste your time bringing equipment to this store to have it serviced. read more

Terrific, knowledgeable service can be found at this Ace Hardware, which includes some gift, home and toy items along with the more traditional "hardware." This is a good store for women (or men) who are not experienced at household repairs and improvements; larger warehouse-type stores may seem more "corporate," and more impersonal and intimidating. The staff has been helpful in our purchase of Benjamin Moore paints (they had "our" color), which not just anyone carries. They also carry Craftsman brand tools. Of course you pay something, but not much, for this extra service. If you don't need help, the salesmen stay hands off. I give these guys as much business as possible. read more

I bought a garden tool a couple of years ago from Home Depot and it has already broken. I went to Home Depot to find a replacement, but they had just the same brand as the one that broke, and the prices were a little on the high side anyway. I decided to go to this Ace Hardware to see what they had. They had a different brand of tool at a better price. I bought it and it is working fine. This Ace Hardware is in the corner of the Kroger shopping center at Johnson Ferry and Shallowford. It's been here a few years and I've visited a few times. I find it much nicer to get things at this store rather than Home Depot because you don't feel like you're walking through a football stadium sized building. Things are a little tightly packed, but it's much easier to find things. The staff seemed friendly. I always had good experiences with Ace Hardware when they had a store a little closer to where I live. After my recent experience with this store, I think it's worth a little extra drive when I need to visit a hardware store. read more

So I'm super impressed that this place sells local honey. If you know anything about honey, local is best. I found Hometown Honey at a farmer's market and just ran out. I was fretting about how I'd get more, then found out ACE sells it. SCORE! Even better is that the display is in the front of the store so I didn't even have to look for it. Welcome option in the corridor for odds and ends small job things, saves trips to bigger boxes, better quality than wal-mart down the street if more expensive. But that expense seems to go straight to staffing. They do aim to help and you are not going be ignored. Biggest plus - they actually fill propane tanks here. Lost art. The blond women who was assisting me was probably the friendliest person I have ever met. We bought a patio set at Ace a couple of months ago. When the seat on one of the pieces started sagging, we took it back in to see what could be done. The manager could not have been more helpful! He has ordered a new sofa for us and is making sure the problem is resolved. The staff has been helpful and friendly every time I go in. I am always one to support the small business owner. If I have a choice between a family owned Ace Hardware and a Home Depot I would choose the Ace each time even though, due to being a small business, they inflate pricing. For example a two pack of GE Crystal Clear Ceiling Fan Bulbs is 4.49 at this Ace vs. 2.49 at a Target. Again, not the issue. On October 29th I bought 20 dollars worth of goods from this Ace which I typically support - I bought 2 packs of these bulbs for a ceiling fan, opened one, and realized the ceiling fan sockets did not fit the bulb. The bulbs are clearly intact, no sign of any wear or damage. I bring back the bulbs on 11.3.17 and I am informed by WB at the counter that even thought the receipt says Refund W/ Receipt Within 30 Days - this does not include an open light-bulb package. WB must be blind as half of the packages on his light-bulb wall had openings and tears in the back. I informed him that I would need to stop supporting the store based on this policy not being stated on the receipt. He said no problem. The smart business owner or employee, especially smart "small" business owner or employee does what is necessary to keep business in the store but WB is either a poor owner or poor employee because he has lost our families business and I will make sure to let other families in our neighborhood know of the stores business practices. I will happily travel a bit farther to grab my items from Home Depot or Target - at least they honor the return policy stated on the receipt. read more
