DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THEY SAY TO YOU BEFORE YOU PAY FOR THE CAR. Verify and ask them to show you everything including the number of keys they have for the car. They stuck me with a spare key to the Rolls Royce I bought from them and it cost me $1,700 to buy it. They knew about it but hid it from me until after I took possession of the car. They said they will fix the noise when opening and closing the trunk. They sent me to their repair shop telling me it will be fixed. After their shop checked it out, they said I should pay about $3,500. They are full of empty promises. I'm still very upset that I fell for their promises, which cost me extra $5K plus. The only difference is that I wasn't fortunate enough to read a review that would have stopped me from making one of the biggest mistakes of my life. So, let me give you some advice that will save you thousands of dollars and tell you to please go somewhere else. Now, I'm going to write a long review, so if you don't want to read it all, that's okay. All I ask from you is to listen to the entire video that I'm attaching to this review. This is how they treat their customers after being caught in a lie. I'm telling you now that the "nice car" you see will more than likely have issues that will empty your pockets. Also I would like to add that since Google only limits me to 30 seconds, I had to trim the video but you can find more of the video on Youtube titled "East Coast Auto Group - Linden, NJ (Yelling and threatening me) Now, let's begin the full review. This story starts on a rainy fall day back in October of 2023. I saw a Corvette I really liked and wanted to just do some window shopping at first. That's when I went to East Coast Auto Group and was approached by Julio. Julio will seem like this nice, God-loving, friendly salesman at first, but after he makes the sale, he turns into Judas. I mean, seriously, this guy definitely knows that the cars are in all types of messed-up conditions but won't tell you because he wants to make a sale. At the end of the day, it's his life and his morals, but I'm just warning you not to trust this guy. Anyway, before I purchased this car, I wanted to make sure that it was all good, so I requested to have a pre-purchase inspection done at a Chevy dealer, which they obliged. I'll give them that. The only problem is, Open Road Chevy does terrible pre-purchase inspections (Don't worry MJ, I know you love mentioning them so I'll write a bad review for them as well, just for you). My advice to you is when you're buying a car, take it to a mechanic that you know is good and will check actual things (not just things like if brake pads need replacing and if you have enough windshield wiper fluid). So, after Judas breathed a sigh of relief when he found out Open Road Chevy was just as incompetent as them, he told me to go back to sign the paperwork. Before I finished signing, I was told that if anything occurred with the vehicle within 30 days or 1,000 miles, I should bring it back to the dealership. Within the week, I was back at the dealership because it was making all kinds of noises: in the front, in the back, literally everywhere. Since I work long hours throughout the week, my sister was the one bringing the car in for service and speaking with Mabel (the woman who is yelling at me in the video). Mabel and the service department either said that there was nothing wrong with the car (for example, they said a Corvette is supposed to whine like that for the serpentine belt) or they just straight up said they would not cover it. The only thing they took accountability for is the rear control arm, because Mabel stated that they had replaced the front ones when they first received the car, but the rear ones were on backorder so they couldn't fix that. So now I ask myself, why was this not mentioned before I bought the car? Clearly, East Coast Auto Group knew that at least something was wrong with the car, but they never seemed to mention it. Anyway, Mabel wrote on paper that once the part comes in, she'll give me a call and they'll replace it at no charge. I would call throughout the months to check if it's in, and I would always get the same answer: "Still on backorder, GM is on strike," even after the strike had ended. So in June of 2024, I decided to start an email chain with them because I knew that the part was available. I just wanted to catch them in their lie and have written proof of it. So I wrote to Mabel asking if it was available, and she lied to me, saying that it was still on backorder. I contacted 3 different Chevys around my area, and they all said they would have availability to get the part. After I exposed them for their lie, the email chain went silent. I received a call about a week later after the last email was sent. I was driving back home, listening to some Black Keys, enjoying life, when I get a call from Mabel, literally yelling at me saying, "We got your part, we got your part, when are you coming to put it on?" So I ask, "Oh really? So what happened to the 'national backorder'?" Mabel responds, "Don't worry about it, I just spent $600 on your part, are you going to come get it?" So I respond, "Did you get the part from Richard Lucas Chevy, or is it an aftermarket part? Because I don't want an aftermarket part." Mabel then proceeds to respond by yelling, "Listen!!! Don't worry about it, just come get your part or book an appointment to put it on." read more

Unfortunately we traveled over 3 hrs to this auto dealer to be ripped off. this falls under the shame on me category, but we really anted this car. We looked at a Range Rover, and when we took it for a test drive, a piece of trim was flapping in the wind, and a suspension fault light came on. We "trusted" that they would take care of both. The trim was installed, and I am not sure what the did about the suspension fault though, because it kept coming on. On top of that, the "price" on line was not honored by the dealer, they charged us for their advertising. Then there have been mechanical issues with the vehicle. Ugh. Steer clear, don' do it. Please stay away guys! East Coast Auto Group only sells cars ranging from 80k to 100k + miles on average. The car that I was interested in had 88k miles. We agreed on 16k, but after a substantial down payment request and interest over the course of the loan, I would have paid close to 40k upon completion of the loan term. The car is barley worth that price new and over twice the amount we originally agreed on. I was flabbergasted that they really tried to convince me that is was a good idea to pay 40k for a vehicle that was nearing 100k miles. It should be a crime that these types of dealerships exist. They prey on ignorance, people that don't have the best credit, and mostly minorities desperate to get in a vehicle. I wish I could give this place zero stars, they deserve less. Shopping for a used car is never fun, right ? WRONG !! East Coast made it such an enjoyable experience on many levels. I was looking to buy my 16 year old son his first car. Lets start with the car. We purchased a 2013 BMW 328i, CLEANEST car we had seen since shopping around. Black rims, carbon fiber, only 60,000 miles. Omar was our Salesman. Omar was genuine and kind and gave my son a test drive that I thought was never going to end. After the test drive Omar told me that he made the drive longer than most because my son is young and he really wanted him to get a feel for the car and be comfortable. WOW. Omar treated my son like he was the customer, even though I was paying..lol. I saw the car on an outside site and the price was lower, Dean, the owner of East Coast honored that price without hassle. Dean, what can I say but what a gentleman ! He knows his stuff inside and out, so knowledgeable and honest. Angelo the manager was funny and engaged us in conversation. While paperwork was being done we hung out by the managers desk talking wirh Dean, Omar and Angelo. By the time we left with our beautiful car we really were made to feel like family. The establishment was clean, I received my title quickly, within one week, and before they released the car to us they cleaned it like a new baby and even made us a second key. My son and myself are so happy with his BMW with all the bells and whistles and with the treatment, respect and love thst we were shown by everyone who worked at East Coast. We have all had bad experiences shopping and buying a used car. THIS is not one of them and my experience is what has led me to write this review. To often you only hear of the bad and so I had to take this time and give this positive review. My Recommendation is to AVOID this dealership for KBB Instant Cash Offers at all cost. Went through KBB's cash offer service they placed me in contact with East Coast Auto Group. Scheduled an appointment for them to check out my vehicle and for them to accept the cash offer or submit a counter offer. After management reviewing the vehicle they submitted their offer to KBB which was $3,000.00 below the instant offer, I instantly received their submission to KBB via email. At this point they have not yet told me what they were going to offer me and I do not think they knew that I received their submission to KBB. Around 20 minutes later they told me their offer which was 5k less then the instant cash value in which they came to this amount due to minor scratches on the vehicle paint. The manager then told me that my vehicle was involved in 2 accidents which is how they came to their offer. I requested to see the Carfax to verify the vin and the information to ensure accuracy. I was able to verify the vin but not the accidents because he kept shaking the phone around. I then requested for the manager to email me a copy of the report. He sent an email but there was nothing in it. He mentioned that he has been selling cars for a long time and urgently told me that my vehicle is depreciating in value. I acknowledged and mentioned that the vehicle was in one accident prior to myself purchasing it, which shows on the vehicle CARFAX. I have copies of the CARFAX reports which shows a minor accident that was fixed 3 months later. I purchased a newer updated record on the vehicle which confirms the vehicle was only involved in 1 minor accident on the front drivers side fender/bumper. The manager intentionally attempted to mislead me in order to negotiate an extremely low offer. I normally give businesses the benefit of the doubt but this dealership was egregiously dishonest. I really hope any consumer that goes through East Coast Auto educates and researches any and all information pertaining to the sale/trade-in or purchase of a vehicle from this company. As an end note, I will no longer use KBB's instant cash offer service nor recommend it to anyone. read more

My issue with this company is their level of service which is totally lacking and possibly non-existent. While I waited for my permanent plates to arrive by mail, I was informed they would arrive within 30 days. After 5 weeks I still had not received them however, I was then informed by ECA I could pick up the plates at their Linden location, which I did. Mind you, I'm from out of state. For the most part of the first 3 weeks, no one returns your call and worse, they don't even answer your email. I recall receiving an email from Emad ( rep from ECAG) about purchasing a vehicle. Soon as mentioned to him my dilemma, he never either contacted me by phone or responded to my email. I emailed him twice. To make matters worse, the vehicle was missing the fuel hatch door which sits on the quarter panel. I was told, "oh, that's no problem, we can order you a new one," which of course, never arrived because ECAG never ordered it. With this level of service I am going to assume ECAG does not depend on repeat sales or on customers to disseminate positive information about them. If they did, I doubt they would stoop to this level of customer satisfaction. The few times I had the privilege of someone answering the phone, I was put on hold an excess of 10 - 12 minutes without anyone ever returning to at least provide some type of feedback about what's going on, almost daring you to terminate the call, which I did. Thanks to Reggie, the manager and Dean, the owner, for introducing me to the claims department of Motor Vehicle Commission and the Department of Consumer Affairs. I recently purchased a car in full and a week later received a call from Reggie telling me that the money he brought to the bank didn't match what I paid. I was then told that I wouldn't be able to get my plates or registration until this "imaginary balance" was paid off. Three months later, I was able to retrieve them with the help of an investigator at the motor vehicle commission. DO NOT go here! 1/13/2019 Well first of all don't believe the reviews on there web site. I gave them a one star review and they can delete anything negative. My review somehow disappeared. That's why all you see is 5 star reviews. For every 5 star you see on THERE site, there are probably 5 one star reviews they remove! I bought a Jaguar XK which I bought as is. It needed a few things mechanically. According to Angelo one brake light was out, and it had a TPMS light on the dash. Ok no problem bought the car. Picked it up next day and left around 4:00 in rush hour traffic in NJ,NY, and CT to where I live. Come to find out I had no brake lights at all! After almost getting rear ended and was told by that motorist I had no brake lights. So I was able to make it home by turning the switch on the dash to engage the very bright rear fog lights every time I braked to emulate a brake light and get home alive. I did make it home in one piece and it was a very scary ride! Well I took a week to cool down and gave them a call. Well Angelo stated in the call said he told me it had NO brake lights which is total BS. Who in there right mind would drive a car off the lot like that? He could have gotten someone killed. Well I know they were trying to fix the brake lights in there service dept. because all of the rear access panels for the rear lights were opened up. Low and behold it cost me 7.00 to repair the problem and an hours labor! What does that say about there service department? Not much. There was a rotted socket and connection problem. Now they work perfectly. Finally I post a similar review on there site and it never shows up, and I get a call an hour later from Dean with the big apology and mixup. Dean asked what he could do to remedy the situation and offered to pay 57.00 towards the repair. I guess that's what a life is worth these days. I said if they refunded there 500.00 paperwork, temporary registration, and processing fees I would drop it. Well that never happened! Never heard from them again, it's been over a week! On top of it, it took them 57 days to get the title sent to me and had the nerve to charge me 15.00 to send it overnight and it took 8 days to get it because the secretary forgot...Well thanks to Yelp they cant erase this review!!! I am going to be reporting this incident to the NJ motor vehicle department next. Well Angelo would you drive a car knowing it had no brake lights in Jersey City and Manhattan in rush hour traffic?
