My first car that I leased with Bay Ridge Mazda 3 years ago was up and since then I've moved to Staten Island. Island Mazda was now much closer so I decided to come talk to someone here rather than travel back to Brooklyn. I was helped by Yuri. I thought I'd be writing a positive review about this dealership, however due to the lies made about the car, I'm finding it difficult to say anything good. First is the recall. The dealership specified to me that the recall was actually done. Turns out it truly wasn't, hence why the car KEEPS STALLING when entering high speeds. Second is the spots on the top of the car which it was made clear by the dealership that it was JUST DIRT. No, they lied again, turns out it is PAINT CORROSION. Third is the touch screen panel. I asked very clearly if there was a screen protector on it and they replied that there was in fact a screen protector on the touch screen panel (so I decided to leave it), but as the bubbles on the "screen protector" began to annoy me, I decided to remove it. Only to find out that it was not actually a screen protector. Turns out it was a defect that affects 2011-2018 cx5 models. SCREEN DELAMINATION. Thank you for the lies. Such great salesmen, that's the name of the game, scamming customers and overcharging them. I've already submitted a report to the attorney general. If nothing is done to remedy the issue I'll take it to court. I do not enjoy being lied to. read more

While I still have a high opinion of Island Mazda sales, I can't say the same about their Service Dept. I brought my car in exactly once, for a recall, a visit you'd expect to be cut and dried: they'd inspect the car, replace the part under recall, done. Right? Wrong. I went to sign in and got this arrogant jerk who proceeded to launch into a hard-sell pitch on all the service my car needs. I tried to politely stop him. "Look, my car has had all its necessary-" But he cut me off. "So you know for sure that your car has had [insert list of 3 or 4 services]?" And it quickly went downhill from there. Then some supervisor-type person came out and ushered me into her office. At first, I thought she was some sort of customer service fixer who would kiss my butt a little bit to get me to stay. But, no - she picked up the hard sell pitch where the arrogant jerk left off! I finally lost my patience and caused a minor scene by loudly demanding to have my car brought back out to me. I was given all needed information and options and went back the next day 6/30/2022 to lease my ready vehicle. The process was quick and efficient. No greeting, salespeople all sat on their behind. Refused request for test drive despite numerous cars of the same model requested were available on the lot. They also refused to offer a test drive a year prior. Unprofessional and discourteous. They seem to only want to cater to a certain kind of customer. Mazda Corporate has a lot to do to reign in dealerships like this if they're going to try to go up-market with the upcoming CX-70 and CX-90. The level of service provided is a big joke if they want to actually compete with luxury brands. This place is a textbook case of why people hate dealerships and why this slimy yet legally protected (resulting from big business "lobbying," America's favorite pastime) middlemen industry should be abolished. No doubt there are countless fake 5 star reviews on here and Google, just check the reviewers' accounts with no other review. I made an appointment for an oil change. I got to the service center at the appointed time. I was told there would be a 2 to 3 hour wait for an oil change. An oil change. They were "backed up" due to a shortage of mechanics that day. As this was a noon appointment, a simple phone call an hour or two earlier letting me know about this ridiculously long wait time would have saved me a wasted trip. In addition, their price for a synthetic oil change is $89.99; most other dealership service centers charge $69.99. They are disorganized and understaffed with little consideration for their customers' time. First and last time I will be going there. I'll make the trip over the bridge to Sansone where I leased my CX5 and the customer service is decent. read more

Though I went with a different dealership even the price was a little higher than Island's Mazda. Price is not always the most important, sometime the respect, integrity and the principal matters more. --------- Definitely lost me as one of the customers at this dealership. The price was great, even without the disputed promotion that was argued. This feedback and rating is based on the "principle" of things and not the price. Everything was going well with Chris P. until at the final discussion about military promotion; if it was included in the quoted price. This was unpleasantly argued back and forth between us. Chris would NOT HAVE KNOWN that I'm with the military prior to informing him in the morning when the quote was ALREADY provided to me (AM of Feb 13). In addition, a voicemail with the same quoted price was also left the night prior (Feb 12, ~ 8:49PM). Chris repeatedly mentioned that "all calls are recorded", and can be reviewed. I really wish Chris had the time to review the recorded conversation, and perhaps issued an apology and we can even proceed with a deal between us (with or without the $500 military promotion). I was researching and researching all different types of cars, and determined a Mazda was a good fit for me. I was concerned about where I should purchase a car from, because most dealers have bad reps. In fact, it's hard to find any dealer with a good rep in NYC. I drove home shortly after in the new car I viewed online. The sales rep Kim B. was phenomenal. She answered any questions and concerns that I had, and was extremely helpful in my decision making. There wasn't any pressure at all, no smoke/mirrors, or no baiting and switching. I also dealt with Matt F. in the financing department, and he was awesome as well. I was dealing with genuine people who weren't "full of it", which is why I'd recommend Island Mazda to anyone. I'm truly surprised how easy they made the purchase. From the start, Israel (the general Sales Manager) was beyond helpful over the phone and was really working hard to get me the car I wanted within my budget. Of all my years leasing vehicles with different companies, I can assure you that this was the easiest, quickest, most painless process with the best deal I have ever gotten on a new lease. In the market for a Mazda CX-5 and was referred to Island Mazda through my bank's (USAA) car buying service. I was contacted almost immediately after using the service. Made an appointment and was set up with Mike Promyslovsky, who gave me a courtesy call prior to the appointment. Mike was neatly attired, friendly, and polite to both my parents and myself. Fortunately I already knew the vehicle (and options) I wanted so we wasted no time. While driving, Mike explained all the pertinent features and answered my questions. I had wanted a blue or red vehicle, but they really sold me on the black with black leather, which really is nice. I was satisfied going with the guaranteed price as per the USAA quote, and so I was then introduced to Stephen Chandler, the money guy. Steve was also professional and easy to talk to. He explained everything without being long-winded and answered all questions. He is a straight talker and my BS meter didn't pick anything up. Finances were agreed upon and paperwork was done promptly. Never did I feel pressured or rushed. The car body had a scratch, so Mike had the service guys fix it. They redid the clear coat on the entire vehicle. The next day it needed some more buffing, which I was happy to do, but Mike offered to bring it back in for a touch up, which I appreciated. After a horrible experience the 1st time with Mazda service I decided to give them a 2nd chance. What a MISTAKE!!! I scheduled a service appt online for today at @ 1:40pm (oil change only). I was told when I arrived that they were overbooked and the wait would be several hours. To make matters worse they replacement car key I ordered several weeks ago was NEVER processed!!! I left the service area very upset and went to the quick lube and got the oil changed in 15min!!! As for the car key I really hope you do the right thing when I come back!! This was the fastest, smoothest, easiest car lease transactions I have had, and I have leased many cars over the past 20 years. This one was a 2018 Mazda3 GT Hatchback. Everything was done online with the help of Rocco. The paperwork was all ready in advance. When I got to the dealership I worked with Mike in Sales and Mike in Finance. Both were excellent to work with. They handled my lease return and had my new car ready. Mike in Finance was respectful of my time and got the paperwork done faster than any other transaction I have ever had. Mike in Sales was such a nice and helpful sales person. We went to Jersey and bought a brand new car from a real old fashioned car salesman who gave us a great price on a brand new car and was a pleasure to deal with. I decided to cancel them on 7/23/17 & 8/23/17. I haven't received any refund back. If I ever get my refund I'll update this review. This review is for the Service Department only. As a mechanic I'm extremely dissatisfied with the professionalism and lack of attention to customer service. I recently dropped off a vehicle for a warranty issue involving the vehicles brakes. From the moment I stepped out of the vehicle the service employees insisted it was Operator error and caused by lack of care. I attempted to explain the issue to the Service Writer, and the "hosts", none of which gave me the time of day. Upon diagnosing what they pre-determined was the issue, they wanted to charge me for what should have been covered under warranty. Clever wording placed blame on the owner and disqualified the issue from warranty coverage, meaning the dealer could then make $600 off of me. I promptly picked up the vehicle and took care of the issue myself. The only reason I went to the service center in the first place was for warranty covered repairs. A vehicle with 3,400 miles should not encounter "wear and tear" parts issues. This incident was a blatant disregard of the actual issue and the customers requests. Please go elsewhere. read more

So we zoned in on the CX-30 "Select" Trim Line. ALL WHEEL DRIVE of course. 18" Wheels, Blind spot Monitoring, Rear view camera, Cross traffic alert, Lane departure with Lane keep, Radar cruise control with stop and go. Passive alarm system with anti theft immobilizer. Keyless entry with push button start. Israel told me with the My Mazda App., I can start the car remotely. I downloaded it on my I-Phone, the CX-30 has Apple Car Play and Android Auto. All LED lights with rain sensing wipers. He was so knowledgeable, respectful, listened to what I wanted where do you find that. Gave me a price that was really very reasonable, that it actually surprised me. Israel Alcivar showed me the proposal and I agreed. He took the plates off my car, transferred the registration, called ALLSTATE to add the new and remove the old. I signed the contract, he had the car prepped and ready to go. Set up Apple play, showed me the features of the vehicle. Seamless process. Later on they showed me this other car which I fell in love with a sports car originally for 10000. But joe the manager was amazing he was able to bring the price down to 7000 which was amazing. My salesman frank was amazing very friendly and very helpful I really liked having him as my salesman I rally recommend coming to this place if you want good service and a nice car. Saturday morning we came in and he was ready, prepared set everything up. He was fast but maintained organization. Truthfully, got us where we wanted to be. He prices out the Mazda 3 , CX3 , CX 5. We went with the Mazda 3 because that is where we wanted to be financially and it came with options I was looking for. Phil is a man of his word and will not disappoint you!!!
