We are very pleased with the work Heather, and her crew did on our paver project. The new pavers look great and really improved the areas around our home. We would definitely recommend Heather and Earth Smart Design to anyone considering a paver project. read more

Heather and her crew at Earth Smart Design are the absolute BEST! Super responsive, incredibly reasonable prices, VERY fast crew, listens to what you want, and really, really, really knows her stuff! She and her crew completed our front yard, and inner-courtyard conversion from traditional water-guzzling grass and ugly shrubs to water-wise and beautiful desert landscape, including new hardscape concrete walkways, less than a week after breaking ground. She has a degree in landscape design, and her crew does it all--plants, irrigation, design, hardscape... Her knowledge and experience, as well her patience and understanding came in very handy while working through all of the HOA requirements and approvals, too! We also had her convert our very big and (formerly) really ugly dirt backyard into a beautiful combination of a small patch of real grass, a new patio, pavers, all new irrigation, a small fountain (we provided) that gets automatically filled with the irrigation dribblers, a tricky walkway over some raised tree roots, lighting, and a variety of desert plants that will fill-in beautifully with the existing bougainvillea, oleander, and palm trees we retained around the edges for privacy. Her estimate was roughly half of what one of the big outfits was quoting, and her timeline was much faster, too. Both were accurate; they were done with the backyard project (after a number of rounds of design first) in less than two weeks, and the only increases to the price were due to my design changes and plant additions after the fact. She also comes back multiple times to adjust sprinklers/dribblers, any plants that died of stress, and to make sure everything is filling in properly or make adjustments. The ONLY thing I wish I/we had done differently was to have budgeted-in having the crew lay down pre-emergent grass & weed inhibitor on all the soil around the new plantings, but underneath the gravel, prior to putting the gravel on top, to prevent the old turf from popping back up as weeds. It still would've needed re-application every six months or so, but it would've given a head start to preventing more of the pesky crab-grass that really wants to grow back in after it was removed! read more

We were hoping to find a creative, reasonable and responsive landscape company - and found one! Heather's consultation, design, install and follow-up were remarkable. And pricing was more than fair. Totally recommend Earth Smart Design. read more

I have used Earth Smart Design for years. This year they did the front and backyard at my new build which a wrote about in and earlier review. This review is for the work they did at another property. The front drip system was replaced and several large bushes were removed giving the yard a clean look. The agave plants will only grow to 18" to 2' tall filling in the areas which will accent the boulders behind them. The lady slippers will add height growing 6'X6' but not give the yard an over grown look. Heather and her team are detail oriented which assures that the customer is happy. You couldn't have a better team to work with you! read more

Heather is terrific. Responsive, fast, easy to work with, and really cares about her work.

If you're looking for someone to fulfill all your landscaping dreams... stop searching right now! You've found her! Heather has been so incredibly helpful with the landscaping of our yard. She has gone beyond our expectations and truly cared about her craft. We have a home in a not so modern neighborhood that we were wanting to bring a little bit of a modern flair to while also cleaning up the yard and making it look fresh again. She came to the table with plenty of ideas and was very helpful and creative to nail down the exact landscape we moved forward with. We moved forward with all new rock in front and back yard along with a beautiful design with some arizona plants we love. The timeline of initial quote to final project was incredibly quick while still doing exceptional work. The pricing was unbeatable as well. If you've read this far in the review... close out all the other tabs you might have open in google for another landscaper. This is your gal! Thank you Heather and team! You have our recommendation any day. read more

Exceptional service! I have hired Heather and her team for two projects at two houses and both times the quality of the work far exceeded my expectations. Heather is super responsive and an excellent communicator. Her team has been with her for years and they have amazing synergy. The pricing is in line with the competition but the quality of the work and communication make Earth Smart Design stand out from the rest! read more

What a dream, truly professional company to work with and exceptional attention to detail! The experienced workers were fabulous and so professional. Heather answers any and all questions and is so pleasant to work with. She wants her customers to be happy and it shows as she stays in contact regarding what time the workers will arrive, any questions, followed up during the install and after. We had pavers added to the front, ribbons down the driveway sides, modified a paver area, added landscape lights and turf in the front and back. I wanted a circle in the sidewalk and not the same square or curved and she looked tirelessly for a circle kit, but could not find one. But, she gave us suggestions and we went with her idea to make a circle with the paver pattern. It looks better and is larger than a circle kit! Fabulous suggestion! Highly recommend! read more

Heather and her team just completed working on our yard and I cannot be happier! The project involved turning the front yard with grass into xeriscape, replacing grass in the backyard with pavers, redoing the entire irrigation system, and building a flowerbed. Heather is very responsible and knowledgeable--she listened to me well and had great suggestions. Very honest about pricing, too. Her team worked very hard and were professional. Highly recommended! read more

Heather and her crew made my backyard remodel project such a stress free experience. They were very communicative throughout, punctual, knowledgeable, and very skilled at what they do. Heather was very thorough with explaining/walking me through everything. They were also the most reasonably priced company for the job and did not out on quality. read more

I can't say enough great things about Earth Smart Design and Heather in perticular. We were looking to do a yard conversion from grass to rock but had no idea what we wanted from a design perspective. We spoke with Heather, she listened to our style, gave us an idea of what she was thinking, and we were instantly comfortable with them taking it forward. They finished the project in just 3 days (less than what was promised) and I can say we love looking at the "yard" every day. I would recommend not only Earth Smart Design but also the grass to rock conversion for savings of water and money! Next up - back yard! read more

I moved into a very nice home, but the landscaping had been neglected. Two trees were very scraggly and nearly barren of leaves. The decorative rocks were disheveled and the plastic was tattered. Heather came up with a plan to upscale my yard with a dwarf palm, plants, cactus, rocks, and boulders. All this and an automatic drip system. The yard now looks just beautiful. The trees? Heather advised me on how to revive them, and they are now flourishing. One was a lemon tree, but it received Heather's help too late to bear lemons this year, but she assures of a bumper crop next year. The neighbors were quite delighted with that good news. You will find Heather to be very friendly and knowledgeable. Check out her "Agave Weevil" video (it's ¾'s down her website's page) which only runs a little over a minute. It persuaded me to contact her, and during our planning meeting, I was convinced that she would do a great job. And she did just that. read more

We were in the market to replace the grass in our front yard with artificial turf. We had almost 2000 square feet of grass to replace! After obtaining 5-6 bids, we decided to contract with Heather, the owner of Earth Smart Design. We couldn't have been more happy! The project turned out beautifully! Heather kindly brought out samples on several occasions, kept in close contact with me, kept every appointment and her crew was professional, on-time, polite and actually worked for Earth Smart; not day laborers or one and done workers. I can't say enough good things about my experience with Heather and her crew! Please give her a call, you won't be disappointed! read more

100 stars to Heather and her crew if they would allow it! Heather came up with a great design and was super flexible as we discussed changes in the design both before work began and during construction. Her crew was fast and efficient and cleaned up after themselves every single day. We now have the backyard we envisioned when we purchased our home and are excited to enjoy it during the cooler months. Thank you Heather and team! read more

Earth Smart Design/Heather was a pleasure to work with. I wanted the grass in my back yard replaced with turf. I had a general idea of what I wanted done, but Heather helped me figure out a better design/layout for the project. The entire project only took two days and it turned out wonderfully. Heather was great to work with, affordably priced, worked with me to stay within my budget (actually came in $100 less than what she quoted me), and offered excellent guidance in the design/layout of the project. I'm looking forward to working with her on additional projects in the future. read more

Earth Smart Design I needed quality landscaping done in a timely manner at a really good price. Earth Smart Design was that solution. The quality with a really good price was just the beginning. Heather and her team are the most professional and generous people in the industry that I have every worked with. Being new at landscaping - Heather gave us some really good ideas and once the plan was on paper - the job became a reality. Heather listened and cared about how important this project was to us and she paid attention with the most upbeat personality. Earth Smart Design's team was also, very professional and weren't cranky. In fact, they were happy to be working and enthusiastic about doing the job right. All I can say is that the enthusiasm and the attention to detail comes from the leadership and teamwork of Earth Smart Design. Heather has a vast wealth of knowledge as well. Earth Smart Design - Before and After. Quality work done by Earth Smart Design. http://www.earthsmartdesign.com/ - Landscaping Near Me

Just built a new home and had a big, dusty dirt backyard that needed to be landscaped. I called several companies and had 4 other quotes. I told each company the budget I had to work with, my contemporary design ideas and features I'd like to have: turf, fire pit, dog run, etc.. The other companies came back with quotes that were way over my budget and either came back with drawings that were not even close to the style or features I had requested or they didn't provide a drawing at all. Why would I hire someone who can't even put on paper what they planned to make my backyard look like? Heather provided a wonderful design that incorporated every feature I requested in the contemporary style I wanted and within my budget. After seeing her drawing - which was even better than any example I provided, my husband and I knew we wanted to have Earth Smart Design complete our backyard. Heather and her crew were very professional the entire time. She finished the job exactly when she said she would and maintained constant communication throughout the entire process. I appreciate how Heather listened to what WE wanted and created a design around our style. So many other "designers" just keep pushing out the same tired designs for every backyard project instead of creating something new or different. She even tracked down and planted these flowering orchid trees my husband wanted which are hard to find because he was super picky about having the exact species and not just something similar to what he wanted. He is super happy Heather found them and they are beautiful. Our backyard is so pretty! It looks like a model home's backyard! We have a dog run, lots of paver work, fire pit, beautiful flowering trees and plants, rock, and maintenance free turf that looks like real grass. And it's super modern and contemporary looking! My husband and I are thrilled with our new backyard! Heather's work is amazing! read more

Heather's wonderful. She designed my mother's yard and maintains it. What a difference! We invited her to create a landscape design of our front and backyard. She was thoughtful and listened to all our ideas and concerns and came back with a beautiful and budget friendly design. She is a wealth of botanical information. We are so excited to get started in the spring with her. If it goes as well as we anticipate then I'll probably be back to offer 5 stars! read more

As the owner of Lights Out Exterminating periodically we run across scenarios where insects and plants meet. Our builder introduced us to Heather and Earth Smart Design when we purchased our new home. ESD had installed our front yard irrigation and landscaping, and we were impressed with their work (especially the unexpected cairn!) When we finally got around to the back yard, the ESD team did a beautiful and fast job on our trees, plants, yard rocks, and rip-rap rocks around our pool deck. Heather has been patient in teaching me how to care for our trees/plants, and her team continues to help with projects big and small. We highly recommend ESD! read more

Earth Smart Design - I needed my grass replaced with rock. I absolutely love what they did they were courteous and fast. - Landscaping Near Me

I have a rental property in Phoenix that needed a landscaping makeover. Living out of state, I was clueless who to turn to. I hit Yelp and took a chance with Heather. Best blind decision I've made! Within 24 hours she drove by the property and emailed sketches of some xeriscape design options. Once a design was decided upon, she and her team went to work. They removed the existing brown grass and transformed the front yard into something beautiful. The neighbors even came out to acknowledge the upgrade. They were incredibly appreciative of Heather's tasteful work...as am I! Not only is she a landscaping pro, she's a wonderfully sweet person, who is a joy to do business with. I'm sorry that Yelp only allows 5 stars...she deserves 10! read more

They use their expertise and knowledge suggest great improvements, that I love. I was there during most of the work and I can definitely tell you, they are perfectionists! This past summer we had a company, Earth Smart Design, landscape our entire back yard. They did such a fabulous job that we just had them do our front yard. Once again I can't say enough good things about this landscaping company. The owner, Heather, and her crew show up on time, everyday, all day long. That in itself is amazing. They are courteous, hardworking (only take one, maybe two breaks) and always leave our yard looking awesome. This is how I know someone takes their job serious. We asked them to dig up a plant from our backyard and replant it in the front. Some workers would dig the plant up (and leave the hole there, unfilled and looking awful) but they filled in the hole, smoothed out the stones and left the area in good condition. They also replaced a part of my hose in the front and I didn't even ask them to. Small details tell you allot about a person:) Thanks Heather, if I had another yard for you to do I would choose Earth Smart !!!! read more
