We have been using Macias for over 10 years. They might not be the cheapest, but they are the best and have reasonable prices. Other companies hack, they trim and remove all debris. Highly recommend. I've tried countless landscapers, always hoping they'd provide consistent results and leave our landscaping looking amazing ... and I think I finally found the one who will leave it looking amazing. I texted asking for a quote and Alis' wife, Maria, responded within a minute I think. Set up a quote for the following day - Alis and Manny showed up right on time. I walked them through our 6-month-neglected yard which was really a mess thanks to 2 mesquite trees. Anyone who has a mesquite tree knows exactly what I'm talking about regarding mesquite mess - layers and layers of mess and things to pick up. I'm so happy with the result! Our yard has never looked this clean. So much mesquite tree mess was always left behind with other landscapers or they'd just blow the mess into corners and leave most of it. Not with Alis. They did a fantastic job and I'm now going to have him come regularly. If you've neglected your yard like we did, you'll have to pay someone to deal with all of that neglect. If someone quotes you a low bid for a neglected yard (can't tell ya how many times I've gone for that!), don't go that route. I had gotten a letter from the city to have the palm tress in my yard trimmed. They hadn't been trimmed in over 2 years and needed it badly!! On Friday afternoon I called 4 tree trimming services and Macias Landscaping came out that following Saturday and called me with a quote that afternoon. Macias Landscaping was the best priced bid I received. So I called Macias Landscaping on Tuesday and they were back at my house trimming the palm trees on Wednesday morning at 6:30am so that I could check to see that their work met my expectations before leaving for work. I called Macias Landscaping because I got a letter from the town of Tempe saying they were going to fine me because of my palm trees being overgrown. They were able to come out the day after I called them and was even able to come particularly early because of my work schedule. Great, great job! There are many landscapers to sort through, and I've had my share of disappointments and money lost. I took a leap of faith after seeing all the good reviews. I had a good feeling when he came and looked at the job. He seemed to really care about what the finished project would be and talked intelligently about it. There was not a big language barrier as has been the really painful case with some. The crew did the whole front yard (some plants, a new irrigation system, stucco on a new block mailbox post, and new gravel over the whole front) and new irrigation for the back yard in only 1 1/2 days! Only 1 1/2 days!! The yard looks fantastic! The cost was reasonable, and I really didn't want to find the "cheapest guy on the block". I wanted someone to charge a fair price for great work, and that's what I got. read more

The owner came to my house the day after I called for an estimate and did a throrough walk through of my property. He gave me an estimate and was very patient while I discussed the estimate with my fiance. We decided to have the work done and the three men worked very hard and went above and beyond what I expected. He set up my sprinkler system and took time to explain everything to me. I am in awe of Alis Macias and his crew! I had a 45-foot tall palm tree in a tiny corner of a tiny courtyard that I wanted removed. There was literally about 10-square feet in which to work, although some potted plants on one side of it could be moved. Alis texted me to let me know he was running a bit late for the bid. I completely understand that it's hard to predict to the minute when jobs will be done, but I really appreciated the communication. When he was on his way he texted me to say that he'd arrive in 10 minutes. He showed up right on time, took a look at what I thought was an impossible situation, quoted me an excellent price, and said they could remove it right then! And no, it wouldn't be necessary to move the pots! It took them all of 20 minutes, and the palm tree was gone! (I did not need to have the roots grinded, which would have cost more.) I have rarely, if ever, had such a professional experience with a landscaping crew, and I wouldn't hesitate to use Macias Landscaping again. read more

Overpriced. When I initially met Macias he was pleasant but quoted me a ridiculously high amount to clean up my lawn. We negotiated and he ended up reducing the price by $150, so whatever you do don't pay the price he asks for up front. Then he was supposed to come every other week to do maintenance. The first week they were supposed to come they didn't show up. After two days in a row of not showing up I called and he said someone would come the following day. He then told me it would be $400 to put in my winter lawn. I told him that was insane and that my previous lawn service had done it for free as part of the routine maintenance. He then told me $400 was a "typo" and he meant to tell me the price was $150. I canceled him and never used him again. He did decent work but be careful you don't get ripped off. read more
