Beware! Do not use this company! I used them for a very long time because I loved that they were an all natural pest control alternative. They have been taking care of our property since my kids were babies, they are now 11 and 13. We never had issues with them and were so happy with all of the people who came out, however in the past year their billing department billed us $8,000.00 when we we should have only been billed 59.00 a month for their monthly service. It was a bunch of charges done by their billing department that had our credit card on file. We filed fraud on it and got some of the money back, but then the owner of the company told us he would not reimburse us for the remaining amount and as a loyal customer we were shocked that they are just going to keep our money. read more

In the beginning there were no issues but lately there had been several issues that made us cancel our quarterly service. Most of the issues had to do with scheduling. The technician would say that she would be here on a certain date/time or would call to reschedule and then not come during the time frame/date. The last straw was when she rescheduled and then said she would come the next day. I inquired if she was sure she would come because it was a holiday and she said she would for sure be there. We wait around the next day for her to show up and she is a no show!! I Earth First the next day to inquire what happened and she said "my boss told me not to come cause it's a holiday"'. I found a hornets nets outside of my front door and called places asap. Nate from Earth First called me back (some others didnt) and gave me a very reasonable quote over the phone. He came by the next day, very professional and nice. Since he was there, I asked about whether he can also spray the perimeter of the house to get rid of other bugs and he gave me a quick quote (again very reasonable). He was super nice, very professional, didn't try to upsell me for no reason and for the job within an hour. He even found a second nest and handled it without charging me extra. I've used EarthFirst first three times over the past seven years, most recently last week for ant problems at our house. For both previous incidents, that were also for ants, the service rep needed to come back for re-application, which was fine and part of their "You won't see any more ants" promise. This time we again still have ants-- a LOT of ants -- every day since the first application 10 days ago. We have more ants now than when they first sprayed -- ants in the laundry room, ants in both bathrooms, even ants in the toilet tank. My rep for the Hollywood area Nancy has been made aware of the situation and has been slow or completely unresponsive to multiple messages and phone calls. When she was here for the first application, she emphasized (before she ran my credit card) that a return visit would be arranged no problem if we saw more ants. Unfortunately, she has not honored that promise and has failed to schedule a return visit despite four requests. Earth First has left us with MORE ANTS a week after their $299 treatment and is not honoring their guarantee. Let me be clear. I am not disappointed that they need to come back for a re-application. I understand that ants are often difficult to fully eradicate. What I object to is paying $299 and then being IGNORED in scheduling follow-on service that is part of their guarantee. You shouldn't be ignored either. I recommend you contact another exterminator. Earth First is no longer a reliable vendor. read more

Skip this one. Not only did they not eliminate the ant problem they double billed us. They offered some excuse about a parent company and billing issues. Then they text ME claiming my credit card company is disputing the "wrong bill". My credit card company is attempting to right this entire double bill wrong, but I'm not holding my breath. It is not an exaggeration to say that Earth First truly gave us our house back! I have used Earth First twice. The first time I had a lot of ants because I avoid spraying, and I have a large property. So when they didn't go away after the first spraying, I wasn't surprised. But when after spraying they came in my bathroom in hoards, I was surprised. Marlon said it was my fault because I didn't let them spray inside. I have lived in my home for 30 years and have NEVER had to spray inside. Clearly the spray from the outside WAS INEFFECTIVE and pushed them inside. They came back and sprayed a second time and I was happy with the result. So I called them again this year. It wasn't perfect the first year, but it went seriously downhill this year. This year I had much less ants, but wanted to keep things in check. First off, Marlon forgot my appointment. I looked the other way and we set up another appointment. He sent two young men who I watched spray randomly rather than at the perimeter or in cracks or where it made sense. Then one of them spayed the GLASS PANES on a kitchen window. I ran outside and asked what are you doing? He said I had said ants were coming in a kitchen window. Yes, I said, but it was a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WINDOW and from the WINDOW SILL. It would have been appropriate to spray extra along the perimeter there - not the glass. The other tech was spraying side to side as walked in my backyard. I don't like pesticide, which is why I was trying to use an environmentally friendly company. I only want the spray to go where there are actual ants or along the perimeter. The first year service, they appeared to be paying attention to where they were spraying. This year, not at all. THE ANTS WERE BACK IN ONE WEEK. I called Marlon and told him I needed a re-spray but I needed different techs than the two young men he sent the first time. HE GOT MAD AT ME AND SAID NO ONE ELSE HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT THEM. He kept insisting he had trained them and that they were fine. So instead of apologizing for have glass panes sprayed with pesticide etc., he told me I was wrong. So I asked for my $200 back and he refused. He FINALLY agreed to send a different tech = LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE. But it gets worse. The second guy came out and was WORSE. I walked outside to show him were the ants were. He didn't care. He just wanted to spray everywhere again. AND HE LEFT HIS CAR RUNNING. I asked him why he had left his car running and he said it didn't matter that he was wasting gas and polluting. I NOW have more ants now that I started with. Although I am out $200, I don't want Marlon or his horrible service techs on my property ever again. Do not use this company. read more

I called Earth First because i avoid cancer causing chemicals like pesticides around my home. Recently i had carpenter ants, there was something that looked like sawdust under the bench of my outside picnic table and in my house, i kept seeing single ants, not many, but they weren't the usual kind i've always seen before, i googled it and learned if it's carpenter ants it can seriously damage your house structure. In looking for a pest company, i came across Earth First, on yelp, i looked at their website and liked how they described their mission and their approach. I called, Marlon answered the phone. I told him that my main concern was these ants, the night before, one ant would crawl on me while i was watching TV. I would kill that one and another would come, they didn't come together in a group. i also told him i was suddenly having a lot of flies and i wasn't sure why. He said they could help with the ants but flies were another matter as far as getting rid of them. He told me to put pennies in a ziplock bag with water in it and hang the ziplock bag up in the room and they would go away. wow. So that was good to know. I made an appointment for the next day for them to come out. Leo came and looked at the place where the sawdust was. He said they could take care of it, he told me how much it would cost and he told me the method where you drill holes and put the stuff in. But he said what he saw there looked more like there had been some termites in the bench, and the ants are territorial and it appeared that they had come into the termites' place and made it unusable for him. He said the ants "took care of your termite problem." He said it was possible that the ants might not come back, and since there weren't any in sight, i might want to wait and see if they come back before spending the money. I really appreciate that. It wasn't that he didn't want to do the work, he was there to do it and he told me how he would do it, but he wanted me to have an informed choice. He was not in a hurry to leave, he was informative, he spent quite a lot of time talking to me about other recent pest issues i'd had (i had a rat) and he told me about Earth First services and that they could take care of any kind of pest problem. i wish i had known about them before i had the rat taken care of because Earth First had a much better price. As Leo was leaving, he saw this dark spot about 5 inches in diameter flat against the wall above my front porch. I had been wondering what it was. He said it was a mud wasp nest. I had wasp nests before over my backdoor and got stung many times before i realized where they were coming from. He said this was a different kind of wasp that was not usually aggressive or attacking, but he said since it was right in front of my front door, i might want to spray this peppermint oil on it that i had gotten from Amazon as an insect repellant and then take a hose and squirt it off. Otherwise, he didn't think they were dangerous but because it was in front of my door, i might want to remove it. After he left, i looked at it and i noticed it was bulging out. It had been flat at first, like it was painted on, but now it was a bulge, and i saw the mother wasp flying up to it and kind of doing nurturing behaviors toward it. I felt kind of bad about destroying it, but when she went away, i hosed it. If not for Leo being observant and informative, i would've ended up with a bunch of wasps right outside my front door, after they were born. Earth First, both Marlon and Leo, helped me out by telling me things i could do easily, no poisons, to get rid of three different kinds of pests, without having to spend any money. I was given clear information about their prices, and i will gladly call them next time i have a pest problem, this is the pest control company i've been searching for. i have no doubt that if there is a problem, they will take care of it. Very professional and expert knowledge Update 10/1/17 2 weeks later, carpenter ants came back en masse, thousands in my backyard. i called Earth First. Nathan came out. He told me what he would do & was sure he would get rid of them all. He would spray EcoSmart all around the house, which is made of some oils like wintergreen. I still had the occasional one indoors but he thought it unnecessary to spray indoors due to how few it was. He said they wouldn't die immediately, they had to carry the spray back to their nests and infect everybody. The next day, no more sign of ant life, just 100s of ant carcasses everywhere. 6 weeks later, not an ant has been seen. i feel safe and protected as i walk around my yard. I now know the few in the house came in on me and my dog after we were outside. i saw this when they infested the outside. $215 to get rid of ants with 60 day warranty. I used to think that my house was built on an ant hill. Years ago I called one of the toxic pest companies for help. Not only were they expensive, but they they didn't really get rid of the problem, So I decided to battle the ants myself. For a few years I was setting traps, and sprinkling diatomaceus earth, and spraying with orange oil. Then the roaches came, so I decided to look for professional help once again. I got a dog, and really wanted a nontoxic company. I don"t know why I chose Earth First after googling, but I am glad I did. My husband was really skeptical, but I told him that their service comes with a warranty. Leo cam to the house, and after the inspection, he sprayed some industrial grade rosemary oil. Sounded too good to be true, but it worked!. I was so impressed with the results. After reviewing my amazon orders for for orange oil and diatomaceus earth, I realized it would be cheaper to put them on a quarterly service. It has been two years, and my home is pest free. They have sent different technicians, but Leo is still my favorite. This is a very small business. They don"t always have someone answer the phone. Emails and texts seem to work better. I left a chat message, I never got a reply. My first appoinment and the second (quarterly) appointment were both rescheduled and I had to reschedule the appoints again (no show up due to technician sick or something). I had Earth First come out for rodent control 3/2020. I didn't hear from them for a few months, so I called to tell them I had thought we had set up monthly service. A nice man came once, placed some bait, said he'd be back but was never seen nor heard from since. I don't have time to keep calling. I am editing this review. After writing it I heard from the company and they were kind enough to send Nancy out to spray the side of the house that I'm sure was not sprayed before. They were very professional and wanted to do the right thing. I'll be getting the house sprayed every other month as long as Nancy is the applicator. Thank you, Previous review-something to watch out for...I'm thankful for a more environmentally friendly way to control pests but am a little frustrated with the contractor that came to my house because he didn't spray the entire house and less than two months later baby roaches are back. We didn't have a big problem with pests before. I now understand that after paying $275 for the original application of the spray to my duplex I get a discounted rater for future money sprays but I'm bothered my the original application. If David (or the guy that's come out to give you the estimate) calls shortly before your appointment and tells you "he's locked his keys in his car and is waiting to get into the car to finish his current job so he'll be late", call the company and ask for another person for the estimate and work. David was nice when he finally got here but when he called me shortly before he was supposed to arrive to apply the oil a week or so later he gave me the same excuse as to why he was running late. That in itself didn't bother me too much. What DOES bother me is that he did not apply the produce all around my house. I was in one room and never saw him pass windows on that side of the room. When before paying I mentioned that I had not seen him on that side of the house and walked out to look at it with him he lied to me and said that he had. It was clear nothing had been applied. Then he said something about having a warranty. If bugs showed up again I could call back. I'm now learning that there's a 30 day warranty for that first spraying. About 90 days later I saw a roach come in from that side of the house. Haven't seen anything from anyplace else. I called the residents on the other side of the house and they are seeing baby roaches as well. I can't believe I paid almost $300 for a partial job and now get to pay $90 a month for reapplication. If I call the company again I will insist that David NOT be the person who applies the oil. read more

This year felt like a Biblical punishment in the form of ants - they were literally everywhere, and I was practically wearing a bottle of ant spray like a cowboy wears his trusty six-shooter, blasting thick streams of ants streaming across the walls, ceilings, windowsills, floors, and carpets 24/7. Nancy is an absolute GEM - super professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and the personality of an angel. We (okay, *I*) had concerns about pets and the birds/wildlife we have been feeding on the property, and she assured us that their products are totally safe for anything that is NOT an ant, silverfish, or other targeted pest. i got our house sprayed inside/out and even though i paid for the most "concentrated" spray that was supposed to wipe out all the spiders and last for at least 8 months, in one week the webs were back in the same exact places. I called to use the 60 day guarantee and again was assured that this time they will be all gone for sure. They came out to my property for a possum that had made a home in a storage unit. They left a cage and never came back. $450 bucks wasted. After calling and calling, I finally got Marlon on the phone and clearly and repeatedly asked him to call me 30 mins before they got to my place, as I work far away. Every summer we have an ant invasion, a really bad one, but didn't want to use harsh chemicals bc of pets and kids, so we are super happy with their service and have recommended several friends. I didn't know how big my moth problem was when I first emailed. Marlon was very helpful and since I was out of work gave me some tips to try to take care of it myself. Well, it got considerably worse, so I had him come check it out. He was nice, polite, respectful and knowledgeable. I had a pretty tough case and they were living in places he had never seen before.
