Ordered a Zappie and a Greenpoint to go, with two Cappuccinos. Unfortunately they they took forever to come out of the kitchen (over 20 minutes). By the time they arrived the Cappuccinos were cold. Just had the best donut of my life. Light looking donut is filled with cream, topped off with a tangy zesty icing. That was amazing. Very well fried too. I usually scrape off boring yucky icing, but this flavored icing is something else. Early has been on my list for a while after seeing it on the Yelp Top 100 list for Brooklyn. I finally stopped by here yesterday to pick up two sandwiches after having breakfast already because A and I weren't full enough, it being winter bulking season and all. I chose the Zappie and him the ChiChi and we ate the Zappie right away in the car, which we thought was very good. A didn't even feel the lack of meat with the abundance of mushrooms and cheese on the open-faced sandwich. Baby A kept demanding more too. I didn't try the ChiChi, which is a chipotle chicken sandwich, until a lot later when it was cold but I liked it even more than the Zappie so it probably tastes amazing when it's hot. I'd definitely come back to grab more sandwiches if I were in the area. read more

I just ate one of the best Caprese sandwiches I've ever had in NYC at Early. Lemon-herb chicken, fresh mozz just barely melted, pesto, arugula, and balsamic on a thick, still-warm roll of bread - mmm! And it came out quickly too. With a casual and friendly ambiance, Early is great for a quick (or leisurely paced!) lunch or grabbing a coffee and muffin. Love the tunes they were bumping too!! read more

Cute little place. I'm giving it a 4/5 because I haven't tried any of the food yet (because it's a little more expensive than what I'd like to spend on breakfast) and also because a 16 oz. coffee is $3.00. The coffee is remarkably good and is brewed to perfection. Soy, agave syrup, and stevia packets at the condiment bar = so much yes. They're in competition with Propeller... I would suggest making a 16 oz coffee $2.50 & 12oz $2.00 to beat out the competition. (Wishful thinking!) Either way, I'm willing to pay $3.00 on Monday mornings when I want to start the week off right. I would be a more frequent guest if coffee were slightly cheaper. Oh. The coffee is on point. All of their staff seem to really know how to prepare every caffeinated beverage and are always smiling and helpful. Their iced coffee is my favorite, just take it black, so much flavor and not at all bitter. Quality seems to drip* down throughout their menu. I have had, to date, about half of their sandwiches and each one gets better than the next. I must say the ChiChi is my current favorite. It may seem a little pricey at first for just a sandwich, but after actually eating them, you will taste the difference in quality. It is not just a coffee shop that serves a few sandwiches, both types of items receive the same priority in care and crafting. Me and my friends were around Greenpoint exploring the area. We wanted to find a less than $10 area to eat so we found this place. The sandwiches were great, but I am not here to talk about the sandwiches. I am here to talk about the customer service. The workers there was so friendly and helpful letting us know, which food is popular and what had what. After we ordered and the worker was passing out food apparently there was some mix up pn the food. My friend didn't get a guacamole and my was a different sandwich I ordered so we told the worker. He applogized gave my friend the guac and even gave me a whole new sandwich on the house. There service was great and on point nice and friendly! read more

Starting to get really disappointed with how this place is run. I can agree with the fact that they can't serve a breakfast sandwich post noon, but now they are running out of bread after already submitting orders. I walked out with a sandwich on sourdough because they ran out of 7 grain again. I'm not a big fan of Yelp reviews, but I wanted to give Early some well deserved props. I was telling a friend I wanted to write Early a letter and he convinced me to write a Yelp review instead. To start, the staff here are always a pleasure. I go to Early two or three times a month and am consistently met with an attentive and pleasant vibe. Once when I had asked to buy light roast coffee beans, a staff member gave me a thorough description and volunteered to show me some beans he had open behind the counter. They're just genuinely nice people. Second, the coffee is from Toby's and has become my favorite to brew at home. Third, they serve amazing sandwiches! I'm a guy who was born in NY and have always had a love of sandwiches. My ears will always perk when someone exclaims they found a good sandwich spot. This is one of those spots. My wife and I love their breakfast sandwiches. I also love their Bahn Mi and 12 hour pork sandwiches. Damn delicious! If the weather is nice I might eat it outside on their small patio. Otherwise it's fun to eat facing the window and do some people watching. Plus, they tend to play very decent songs. I've shazamed there a number of times. Well done, Early. Never change! read more

I know they serve Toby's Estate coffee, so I'm already a fan; and that led me in the cafe. Since they know good coffee, I assume they would know good food. It was a risk because I was a pretty hungry mofo when I entered and I'm extremely picky with my sandwiches. Bread has to be high quality, toasted just right, aioli or whatever sauce is a mandate and the meat better be fresh and good quality. And I need tasty - not just salty but it needs to be music to my mouth. I asked the gentleman behind the bar what his fave was and he was so polite and sweet. I was eyeing the chichi b/c I'm a chicken and aioli fan. It turned out that the Chichi was his favorite too. I scarfed down that sandwich and it had a great mix of spice and subtle chipotle sauce. I Loved it! Great recommendation and good service. I'll be back more than once a week! read more

Iced coffee wasn't that great but the staff is awesome and they have Organic almond milk which is great since Starbucks only offers coconut milk and Dunkin donuts has sweetened almond milk. Wish the coffee tasted a little better thou but definitely coming back! read more

Chi chi sandwich, I dream of you everyday! The sandwiches at Early are the best! Get the chi chi sandwich (I get it with the lemon chicken instead of chipotle) or the Zappie (mushroom heaven). Even the cold ham sandwich to go at the counter or the banana muffin hits the spot when you are on the run and need a quick bite.
