Unfortunately a month ago, my husband found bed bugs in our sons bed. ::-( . We called our landlord as soon as my husband told me. We had a visit from Art , who works with Earls Pest Control. He came, told us was to do , gave us his number to contact if we had any questions ( which with my panic and hubby of this bugs that I hate and wish on no one, we called Art too make sure that. we organized my place well for them to exterminate) Next day he came told us what he was doing and gave us more of a inside of how they could have comed into our home, plus how long we have had them, what to look out for after he did the extermination and more. So far we have had 4 visits. Next week he will come by for a last check. We want to thank Art for his amazing work and help he has been for the couple of weeks. Definitely recommending this place, especially ask for Art (amazing worker). read more

Earl's was highly recommended by a friend. I should have read the other Yelp reviews first. I was charged $525 and paid at the initial spraying visit where we discussed services to be done. After the first spray visit Earl's owner quoted an additional $300 for extra work that needed to be done. Yes it was needed and I agreed to get the extra work done. After that they would not finish the work promised and closed my account. I ended up paying $675 and received 2 sprayings for bugs. I found the office and the owner, Richard, very difficult to work with and unreliable. Richard told me in the beginning that they were a very professional organization. I found just the opposite. I usually just pass on reviews when I am displeased. read more

I had an issue with rat mites. I signed the contract and paid for the service. The problem persisted after 4-5 sprays, after which the contract expired. I paid for the extended service. The problem still persisted. I called them but it seemed like they were not interested in my business. I do not know what to do. read more

I do not recommend their service. The service was very expensive and they did not take care of the issue for me.

I only write reviews for companies that are either outstanding or terrible and happily this is to sing the praises of Earl's Pest Control. I'll start with this is a family owned business that truly cares about their customers. They are responsive, professional, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. As a realtor for almost 30 years now, I have used a myriad of service providers and Earls is at the top of that list. Bed bugs, rodents, whatever critters are places they shouldn't be, Earl's is your best option in the San Jose area. Call them with the confidence it will be the only call you need to make. read more

Love working with earls pest control. I brought them in two years ago for both my business locations. After years of having/dealing with other companies. That did horrible work and over priced. I found earls. They have been the best to work with. Always professional, completely reasonable in pricing. My tech is mikey, and we love him. Will never go elsewhere. read more

Called and talked to richard. Live in my van because i am dieing with part of a bullet in my brain as an unwanted souvenier from viet nam. Told richard that i must have picked up sofa cushions that had bed bugs in them. Got their phone number from the salvation army where (in my belief) richard became a member to be able to do the pest control on the salvation armys numerous properties. He talked to me once and said he would get back to me. Never returned my call. The initial conversation with me the only thing richard kept telling me is, "it is very expensive." Never heard from him again. Con artist? You be the judge. read more

They did what they need to take care of our rodent problem. They said it should be rats and used baits. They came out once for a fixed fee, and that was it. 2 weeks later, I found another company who would take care of us for 1 whole year with quarterly check-up for the same price. They said it was actually mice inside the house and used trap. I don't really know what I have, but no signs of any rodents anyways. I also found out that the cost for similar one-time service could have been 40% less than what Earl's has charged me. I think they all can take care of the rodent problem in their own way, but Earl's just cost more. read more

I want to say how amazing Richard from Earl's pest control is! He was sooo helpful and called me on his off time to assist me in my anxiety attack about bugs I discovered. Thank you so much and I appreciate you more than you can imagine. He is definitely someone who will go out of his way to help you! Thank you! read more

I arranged a visit for rodent problems in the attic. Mr. Art Quinones showed up and he was super professionally and knowledge. He explained every single detail of his plan with great patience. Definitely recommend Mr. Quinones! read more

We have been very disappointed with Earl's Pest Control. The service was spotty - once they checked our property to make certain no wildlife could get in, when it was pitch dark. Another time they did not even bother to check but charged a full service fee. The real problem is their front office. We paid our bill via check and months later received a bill for that same service, after giving them the check number and date we thought all was well. Fast forward a few weeks and we receive a bill for the very same service threatening to send us to collections. They could have called to get more I formation but no. Another phone call with the check number (which they had cashed) no apology just rude office staff. So although we liked the techs who came out we will be finding another pest control company. read more

I have just started using Earl's. The first week they cancelled appointment and rescheduled. Then they came to house and put out rat boxes but within a week took them out saying the rats weren't eating the bait and insisted I didn't have rats. I had paid an upfront fee of $400. So I protested that yes I had rats and yes everyone in neighborhood agreed. So Richard came out who seemed more knowledgeable and put out boxes again and used carbon monoxide in a hole which was a temporary fix. Richard said he would fix the cover on my basement to prevent entry and this has been an ongoing process of about a month of trying to get him to schedule to come out. He says he is busy and overbooked by 2 months. I wish he would have told me that originally but it appears that his convenience is most important. I am not happy with this company and feel I paid for nothing but emotional distress. read more

Michael came out today and sprayed the inside of our house for a bad spider problem we've been having. He was very nice, greeted our kitty, listened to all of my questions and crazy antics (I'm terrified of spiders), and was very helpful overall. We left for about an hour, we came back and he told us that this was one of the worst spider problems he's ever seen - he is coming back soon to spray the outside too! The best part of the whole experience was the customer service. I last minute had a change of plans and could only do the inside of the house, they agreed to come back the next week and do the outside for no additional cost -- I end up paying the same rate as if it were both done on the same day. Fantastic! My only suggestion would be to have better phone manners, the man who picks up the phone doesn't greet you with "Earl's Pest Control" ..just a "HELLO." which is strange in my opinion. Overall I would highly recommend these guys. read more

Obtained Earl's Pest Control contact information from Yelp, and I was glad I did. Earl called promptly and set up an appointment. They arrived on time and solved the issue. I appreciated the professionalism and would call them again. read more

I have been using this company for years and the customer service is far better than anything I have ever experienced. Dave, the owner of the company handled a complaint I posed last year and my service has been exceptional from that day forward. I would recommend Earl's to anyone in the market for pest control, they are by far the most customer oriented. read more

The guy that came out was great at explaining everything, but really for the price I paid...not worth it. I was told they would do a thorough inspection and go under my house. All the guy did was open the door to the crawl space and throw bags of poison in there. I could have done that...Not worth $225 I paid, and that was with a $20 coupon...feel like a rip off for the price. read more

Richard came to my father's house to take care of a rodent problem. Extremely knowledgeable and professional. Had a meeting with a friend later in the day experiencing the same problem and gave her the contact information for Earl's. Great service! read more

I had a very different experience with Earl's Pest Control, and I strongly urge homeowners NOT to sign a contract with them. If you are dissatisfied with the service you cannot cancel - you still pay for the entire year. Likewise the contract automatically renews after a year so if you aren't careful you are quickly paying for two years of service. I found a big disconnect between the information I shared with the receptionist and what was conveyed to the technician. As a result, I waited for appointments and no one came. Likewise, I described specific problems (silverfish) to the receptionist and the technician wasn't prepared to treat them; he had never been informed. Another wasted day. I was upset and spoke with Richard - he needs some lessons in customer service. NEVER argue with a customer who is already upset, trying to prove your point. read more

Earls Pest Control was a referral and a darn good one. Customer service is fantastic, super friendly and fast. John showed up on time and couldn't have been nicer and more knowledgeable. He was so patient in answering all of my questions and making me feel like there was hope for my ant and mice issue. Did a great job and will be using them going forward for maintenance on our home. Richard was who I originally spoke with and he was great, called me back and answers all my questions and they were able to service our house with days. Nothing bad to say about Earls. read more

I prefer hiring locally owned businesses over chains. After reading other reviews, I hired Earl's Pest Control for a general treatment and the technician was thoroughly knowledgeable about pests. All my pests were efficiently eradicated. However, on the communication/business side, things were a little less clear. From a lost check to the pricing structure/coupons to a curt phone representative, the overall service was especially frustrating. However, the owner, Dave, went out of his way to fix the problems I encountered. So far my experience has been 3 1/2 stars but Im hoping that will be a 4 star experience soon. I will definitely give them another try. read more

Earl's Pest control was a referral and was able to handle our complicated sloping tile roof. We had a growing WASP nest right above our upstairs bathroom and the wasps were finding their way into the house more and more. It was not fun. Richard explained what was happening and was able to come out promptly to treat the problem. It's been 24 hours and there are no signs of the wasps. What a relief! I highly recommend Earl's for knowledgeable and prompt service! read more

We used their rodent service in March 2017, at which time we paid the technician. Now in Dec, they sent a notice claiming non-payment and threatening to send the account to collection agency. There were no notices or any other communication in the intervening nine months. They think it is our problem to show them proof that we paid - ie, I will have to go through all of our credit card and bank account statements from nine months ago to find proof !!! read more

Thinking this was reputable stable company I called them to eradicate bees I had on the second level of my house. Unfortunately this isn't the case. I found that they only have one tech who services bee's. I went ahead with the treatment anyway. At the conclusion of the treatment, I noticed some damage to a hot tub pipe in my backyard. When I asked the tech about it he became very argumentative and even called me an "ass" claiming there was damage before he showed up even though I had just used the hot tub an hour before he came over. After several back and forth conversations he sent a plumber over to fix it. Well, the bee's are still there and the pipe is still leaking. I contacted the company to have them come back out to honor the 30 day warranty. This time I spoke with one of the owner's, unfortunately customer service isn't at the top of her priority list either. I didn't call to argue just wanted to get the bees taken care of, but she wouldn't even listen to my side of the story. She simply brushed it aside. Ultimately, I have chosen to go with another company and forego the warranty for Earl's service (wasting $325). I too am a business owner who depends on customers and customer service to grow and maintain my business. I would never treat a client like that. I will never engage or recommend them for service ever again. read more

no 0 star rating possible. Dang it. I just got screwed over by Earl's Pest Control. 9 months of trying to coordinate schedules. (we have 3 kids and 4 pets) we finally had a day when my wife had the day off, the dogs had vet appts, and the kids would be out during the morning. (scheduled the time a week ago) They took the liberty of changing the appt time on their own without letting us know. I took part of the morning off work to make sure they got there on time (between 9 and 10). I called at 9:30 and they said he was "simply running late" so I arranged to leave the back door unlocked so they could treat our issue. Come to find out they decided he could service us at 3:30 PM but it took me getting the technician on the line and explaining AGAIN to an Earl's Pest representative that we had dogs at the vet only for a certain amount of time and he said he would rearrange AGAIN to be there within the hour. As of 3:09 PM I still dont know if my house has been treated because they didn't keep tabs on their technician. Thanks for sending me the prep list that I worked on getting all things out of all closets until 1 in the morning, not informing me of the change in appt time, and then not letting me know when my house would be safe to enter. i gave this company four stars just based on customer service and follow through and if their service controls the roaches then i will add to my review and give it a '5'. i placed a call on monday, which was a holiday and left a message describing my problem. after two months of working at my property and not finding any roaches, i was totally surprised and embarassed when my new tenants told me they found roaches in the kitchen's electrical outlets. at 8 am, the next day, richard called me and asked me to describe my problem. he said based on what i told him it did not sound like a huge infestation and that an initial service call would take care of everything. i told him i needed to schedule the appointment based around my tenant (she has a cat) so he offered to call her himself and set up the appointments. later that day, his office called my residence to alert me of the appointment as well as leaving a message on my cell phone. the appt. was scheduled the next day at 9:30. at 8:45 richard called to tell me that he would be arriving at the duplex at about 9:15, which he did. i met him at the front unit for treatment there as well. he was prepared, had the paperwork made out, had notices for the tenants to read, notices to post on the door, etc. he made a visual inspection of the vacant unit and said what he would do and that the treatment would be effective. he also said he would leave 'monitors' in place so that we could determine if there was any roach activity after the 30 days. he did not try to sell me a yearly contract or scare me into all the diseases roaches can carry, etc. i felt he was very honest and very knowledgeable about his business and the follow through was terrific! read more
