Service was quick and food was very good...but, the cocktail was so delightful I had to have 2! Ordered the chicken Alfredo and the grilled chicken had a light salty crust that was very tasty. The Alfredo sauce was not too heavy, noodles cooked perfectly. The Colada Crush was my favorite, like a Pina Colada Margarita.....YUM!! read more

Stopped by Earl's during happy hour on the weekend for a late lunch. Got the large clam chowder which came with a slice of buttered bread. I got the large sized bowl which was listed as an appetizer. I wasn't feeling too hungry so this was just enough for me. They had a happy hour menu which had cocktails and some food on discount as well. The only thing is they weren't able to get a large table for us (we were a group of 8) so we were seated in a booth and grabbed extra high chairs. If you are coming with a large group it's better off making a reservation in advance. This was a more spontaneous walk in experience for us so I understand they might not be able to accommodate large groups right away. read more

Service was great! They were very accommodating of allergies at our table and took their time to share their recommendations. The vibes were mixed. Some people were dressed casually, and others were dressed business casual. The Bigger Better Burger was very juicy and flavourful. The height of the burger made it hard to eat but great otherwise! Tried their strawberry mocktail. It was THE BEST thing there. Will definitely come back to try more drinks. read more

This was my second time visiting this location. It is in the Colossus Plaza up by Highway 7 and Weston. Food (3.75/5) - menu has good variety of mainstream and asian inspired options. Noticed they added some interesting new items to the menu like Bimbimbap and Beef Oshi Press. - Szechuan Shrimp + Pork Dumplings - this was pretty good... nice mix of flavour and spice... dumplings cooked well and shrimp and pork was cooked well. I would order again. - Seafood Platter - this was not bad but nothing special. All of the items were fresh... just nothing really stood out about them. Oysters were average, Lobster, tataki, maki, shrimp also average. I have also had the Spinach & 3 Cheese dip which is worth trying... and the oven roasted salmon is not bad. Service (3.75/5) - find the service a bit on the slower side at this location. Friendly enough but sometimes takes a bit longer to get seated, get orders. Atmosphere (4/5) - it is typical of most other Earl's. Fair amount of seating including bar seating. Lots of free parking nearby. Overall (3.75/5) - Earl's is fairly reliable and in line with the other mid-scale chains in this category. read more

Ok nobody told me this location was prime location for LAWYERS??? So I came severely underdressed. Oops. I've heard a lot of great things about earls and their sustainability efforts - I've been wanting to visit on several occasions and was surprised by the price points. For the amount of food we received I could have gone elsewhere, but it was still delicious. I would not come here for Asian inspired food though and was expecting different menu items. 50 dollars for a 6oz steak is steep yikes... We ended up getting burger and fries, and a tuna avo poke bowl. I feel like this review is a little harsher than my other reviews but because of the high price points, I do expect something better, unique, and different... even if the food tastes delicious. It tastes good... but what else? If you do want to bring your dates here, it can be very romantic. There's a fireplace and multiple seating options. It's also excellent for ... client meetings (evidently based on the amount of lawyers that dined here during lunch hour) Overall, the place is good. But can be greater read more

This was my second visit to this Earls location, and between me and my dining companion, we found the food to be inconsistent. Presentation-wise, our food looked great and came out fairly promptly. Service was alright, but yet again, there was no offer of freshly ground black pepper (and no pepper mill on the table either). It seemed that our server was managing more tables than I'd expect, so I don't fault them for this. While our food tasted good overall, considering the prices, I found it a tad disappointing. The truffle tortellini had too much lemon, which masked the truffle flavour. My dining companion said they've had the pasta at this location before, and the taste was better. I would agree - my previous visit here was characterized by the food tasting particularly salty, and this time, I was just underwhelmed (or maybe just whelmed?) by an average pizza. read more

I love Earls Kitchen and I have been to their locations in multiple cuties and provinces. I love their decorations and their patios. Everything was great! The food was a bit pricy for what we received like the spicy pasta was almost $30 and it was quite expensive for just past, sausage and fresh burrata (a portion of burrata). It was tasty overall! read more

My husband requested we return to Earls for his birthday. Since he tends to work late and I see they have a late Happy Hour from 9PM-11PM, I booked us for 9. I used Open Table since no one still picks up the phone (not when I call, at least.) In the notes, I mentioned it would be to celebrate a birthday. When we arrived, the hostess checked us in and had someone escort us to a table. At first, I noticed a whole bunch of "Reserved" 2-person tables and wondered why we kept heading into the restaurant. Turns out we were given one of the super comfy and cozy booths along a far wall with a window view. Super! Only problems are that the light is so dim you can barely read the menu or, if you're a meat eater, who you're eating when your food arrives. Also, we found the music a tad too loud, especially given that the other end of the restaurant where the bar is, is so far away that there's no need to subject the other end of the restaurant to that volume. Kinda defeats the purpose of the cozy booth. I checked out the Happy Hour menu and ordered a classic Lime Margarita. Birthday boy ordered a fancy coconut lime version. When the drinks arrived, I saw that mine was served in Don Julio ceramic glass, so I told the server that I ordered a classic and wouldn't know the difference between Don Julio or any other tequila mixed with the lime. She sort of nodded along and said something to the extent of, it's fine (can't remember verbatim) but I just figured fine, if this thing is not the Happy Hour classic I ordered, I'll deal with that when the bill comes. For dinner, my husband ordered a 9oz sirloin steak with potatoes and veg medley, and I opted to try their chicken biryani. The food was great all around - the steak was properly cooked to order, the mashed potatoes were delicious (topped with super finely shredded fry garnish), and the vegetables were not overcooked. My biryani, which the server did mention when I placed the order was an Earls adaptation as opposed to authentic, was also absolutely delicious. The chicken was tender, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the gravy tasted pretty close to authentic, although they were served side by side in the metal serving bowl. Our food was hot and stayed that way till we finished. The manager came over to our table to wish my husband happy birthday and enquire whether we wanted anything special in particular with our meal. We didn't take him up on anything (although the prosecco suggestion piqued my interest), figuring we'd wait till we finished eating. We were so full when we did that we decided to check out; however, turns out the prosecco came to us on the house, which was a lovely gesture. It was also what saved me from having to have the bill corrected for the $14 Don Julio margarita I didn't order instead of the $10 classic cuz I certainly couldn't be bothered to go through a correction when we were just treated to complementary prosecco. Having said that, it's the kind of mistake you hate to be surprised with at the end of your meal. Mistakes notwithstanding, and some minor adjustments with lighting and volume, easily 5 stars. In the meantime, at least I'm willing to return at some point. read more

The ambiance was good, both inside and outside. We ordered some drinks and appetizers. the food was good, I ordered espresso martini and later sampled other beers but didnt like the taste. Game here on a weekend evening and we were immediately seated. I got the crispy prawn sushi tacos and the dish included three wrapped tacos with crispy prawns, sriracha mayo, and fresh shisho. They had a Sunday discount so it was $11.50 before tax and for this price it was worth it. Wouldn't justify an extra $5 because they were nothing special. My friends got burgers and pizza and they enjoyed it. Service was good. We weren't told we could pay using the barcode on the table until I noticed it so we just checked ourselves out. I was pleasantly surprised with how good all the food was! I haven't been to this location in years and the last time I went, it was pretty mediocre. Not this time! Our party of 5 had some calimari and tortilla chips and guac to share. Nothing special with the calimari, but I really enjoyed the chips and guac! It was really good. It was my favorite of the evening. My steak dish was pretty decent! The fries were so good and the truffle butter was tasty too. It was a lot of food, and the portion was generous. I was pretty full and happy! Our service was standard, our server was really nice and attentive. I guess if you're in the area, give them a try! read more

I wish there was an earls in Markham because I really enjoy their shrimp spaghettini, the sauce is not overly creamy so it doesn't get tiring. It's light bht savoury! Definitely one of my favourite dishes. The service was friendly but our server for some reason had asked us if we wanted garlic bread for extra charge, I was confused as i know it usually comes with bread. I asked to confirm, and my server told me no it didn't. So my friend and I paid extra for garlic bread just ti end up getting bread with our dish too?? I was so confused and thought maybe they were different? Except they were the exact same. So we essentially ended up paying extra for something we were already getting with our meal. It would've been ok but their garlic bread isn't the best, it has this weirdly sour taste that I am just not a fan of. But I would still come back for the pasta. read more

We went to Earl's to celebrate a special occasion the other week, and we all enjoyed the experience overall! Very good food and friendly service. We started by ordering the buffalo cauliflower and the spinach + 3 cheese dip, both of which were delicious, I highly recommend ordering these appetizers. My dad is a vegetarian, and I think Earl's does a great job catering to vegetarian/vegan crowd. My dad ordered the Vegan Hunan Kung Pao which he loved, he orders this dish every time and always enjoys it. We also ordered the Cajun Oven Roasted Salmon, Cajun Blackened Chicken, and Thai Chicken Curry Bowl. All these dishes were very flavourful and the portions were generous. The only disappointment of the night was the dessert. I remember Earl's having a much better dessert menu in the past, but they only had 3 options, 2 types of cheesecake and a toffee pudding. We ordered the Peanut Butter + Chocolate Cheesecake and the NYC Cheesecake, and was not very happy with either one. The peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake tasted too chocolatey for me and the NYC cheesecake had what I believed was a raspberry sauce that was way too sour! I probably wouldn't order dessert from here next time unless they change their dessert menu. read more

I'm not really a fan of negative reviews but this visit requires one. Came here for St Paddy's day recently on the patio. Experience for the evening I would say was quite disappointing. First of all the dynamite sushi roll tasted like it was prepared at 2:00pm about five hours earlier. The rice textured was just not right. Rice texture was more firm and seemed dried out. For a $17 roll this is unacceptable. Second the spinach dip was just meh. Service from our server was painstakingly slow as we wanted to keep ordering drinks and had to flag him down a few times. Also the Guinness + Earls ale was quite a bit on the flat side. Server never asked us how things were. Our bill was over $120 for the evening and I left feeling it was not a good experience nor good value. Buyers remorse. I have fond memories of Earls growing up in Western Canada loved it. Ate at locations very often. However this level of quality + service was not up to the standards that I remembered from Western Canada! read more

I went to Earls yesterday and I haven't been there in so long. I used to go there fairly often on Thursday nights as it is a great place to socialize and have some drinks. The late night menu deals = amazing. Our experience yesterday was a little off putting because of a few mistakes, however, we are all human nonetheless. The lady who approached our table (can't recall her name) was very apologetic and wanted to ensure we had a great experience. Regardless, I appreciate how she went above and beyond to ensure we left happy as I know reviews reflect the business. Thanks for taking the time to ensure the customer left happy and being a great manager! I would def come back! read more

Food: They serve good food made to order allowing us to adjust the menu items slightly. The chicken tacos were delicious and presented well on the plate. Most dishes come with french fries as the side order. It costs $2 extra to substitute salad or soup. They must really want us to eat unhealthy but tasty thin french fries. Lighting: Around 8 pm they turned on the brightest, most annoying light beside each table in our section. It was shining in my eyes making it impossible to look at a dinner companion beside me without being 'blinded by the light'. Yes, that happens to be the name of a Springsteen song from the 70s (google it, young people). Service: The service was very good with the server regularly checking on us. There was a large pitcher of water on our table but we didn't have to refill our own water since the server did this for us whenever she came by. Parking: It's hard to find a parking spot close to Earls because the parking lot is busy and shared by many restaurants and a movie cinema. read more

Earls is one of my favourite restaurants in the area! Even though I find the selection of the menu pretty average (I feel like all restaurants and bars offer the same kind of food), the quality of the dishes is quite impressive! Earls has amazing happy hour specials (i.e.: $6 Margarita Mondays, etc.). Bartenders are also able to handcraft any drinks you want (My favourite drinks are Cosmos and Raspberry Mojito!) Their kid's menu is also fairly ordinary, but still offers a great variety to kids. Finally, their customer service is pretty good. Everytime we come to Earls (be it on weekday or weekend) we are seated within a reasonable time and staff treats us politely. One time, the patio was at full capacity, we were at first seated at the bar (where we ordered our food and drinks). Then, we were seated in the patio 15 minutes after and our food came in shortly after (very convenient). read more

Let me first start off by saying I used to love this restaurant as I used to frequent it on a weekly basis near the Eaton Centre. We came here for my mother's birthday as well ad family day. Service was very slow although there were not a lot of people at 2:30pm. We all ordered our meals and got it at the same time. My husband ordered a steak and specifically asked for a medium-rare cook. Unfortunately when the steak came it wasn't medium-rare, it was more well done. So we addressed it with the waitress, who notified us that that is their version of a medium-rare and kept arguing that Earl's medium rare is was you see. As a steak connoisseur and an avid steak consumer in this city, I proceeded to tell her that she should frequent other restaurants to familiarize herself with what a medium rare steak is. The manager came shortly after and apologize for the service but did not bring a new steak. Once we were all done our meals, the waitress I didn't come by to check on us after dropping the meals. We had to get one of the waiters to get our bill. I was truly disappointed but the service I got especially when I was supposed to be a great occasion. Will definitely not come back to this Earl's location. The Earl's downtown and Square One location are outstanding in comparison to this one. read more

I came on a Tuesday evening for happy hour I ordered the personal size margarita pizza for $3.50 and the coconut Hawaiian shrimp for $9 they do have good deals for happy hour The Margarita Pizza had great flavor I just wish that there was more sauce on the pizza the shrimp had a little bit too much coconut for my liking and it also came with a side of coleslaw however my coleslaw was brown so I did not touch it and I cannot give my opinion on how it tasted I was in a group of six they forgot one item that we ordered and gave us an extra item that we didn't order the server was really friendly so overall I don't think I would go back I wasn't upset or highly disappointed but I wasn't really that happy either read more

Came here for lunch today and tried out a couple of things. Hostess was friendly and warm at the door and the decor of the restaurant was pretty nice as well. It had some ambient lighting and it wasn't too loud so you can actually have pleasant conversation. We had the half a dozen oysters and truffle fries with gravy to start. The oyster was okay, nothing special but not bad either but the truffle fries were absolutely delicious, especially with the gravy sauce. However things went downhill after the starters. Once we finished the oysters, the sever went past our table multiple times and did not take the finished plate away. I would understand if it was busy but it was fairly empty and she was setting up utensils for empty booths before she finally took the plate away. For the mains, we ordered the filet mignon and one of their new dishes, steak with truffle tortellini. My partner asked for medium well for his filet mignon and I asked for medium rare for mine. His filet mignon was okay but my steak was with truffle tortellini was not good at all. The steak was well done and the tortellini was ...bland. To conclude Earls is definitely one of those once and done experiences. Inoffensive but pretty unmemorable. read more

I thought the food was a bit overpriced for the portion size. I had the chicken club which tasted very good, the fries didn't seem to be properly cooked. I had cappuccino after and was surprised how small it was for the price. Earls is another hot spot restaurant near colossus movie theatre. It can get extremely busy towards dinner time/game nights, and they don't take day of reservations. So - if you're going to spontaneously come in the day of, expect a bit of a wait time (20-30+ mins) for a table. I ordered the calamari for starters and I didn't really like it. It was super oily and even though it looked like there was a lot on the plate, there wasn't much actual calamari within the fried breading. I also wasn't a fan of the tzatziki sauce it came with - it didn't pair that great together. For my main I ordered the chicken tacos - they were ok but the chicken was tad over cooked which made it taste dry. I choose the garlic fries for the sides and again they were drowned in oil - It was so bad that I actually decided to send them back. Our waiter was nice and said I could choose another side - so I ordered the yam fries instead and they were a lot better. I shared a pitcher of sangria with my friend and it was really good - what would have make it better is if they had added fruit. Overall, the meals can definitely be a hit or miss but this place isn't too bad for a post movie meal in comparison to the surrounding restaurants. read more

Decided to give this restaurant another try after having a not so great experience. It was too cold for the patio this time around but the indoor dining experience was nice. Thursday nights seem to be a bit of a party with all the live music. If you're coming to hang out it's great but for an overall dining experience it could be a bit of a damper. Due to the loudness of the music I had to repeat myself multiple times because my waitress couldn't hear me. I'm still sticking with my 3 stars because the service was still very poor. It seemed to be a bit worse than the last time I visited. Looking around every table seemed to have water except for us. We had to ask for it. The server was very zoned out, also didn't check on us much. What drove me nuts was the fact that she placed our cutlery on the dirty table. Even after we put it on a dirty plate she removed it once again and placed it on the table !! We asked for new cutlery which didn't seem to make her happy. What didn't make me happy was the fact that we were charged full price for the taco's even after requesting that we would like to wait the 5 minutes until the 9pm promotion started. But of course when it was time for the bill she was quite jolly because she obviously wanted a tip that she didn't deserve. The food however is where the stars come in! Decided to try the cajun chicken and rib combo with the AMAZING potatoe salad. I was told that the potatoe salad was to die for and that's exactly why I returned ! The meal was delicious and is definitely something I would recommend. Bellinis are delicious, while the pink lemonade isn't so great. Overall the food is great, but the service is very weak. The specials are also a great way to save a few dollars! read more

I've never had a great meal at any of the earls. This location was the most disappointing. Everytime I walk into this location I immediately walk back out. There's ways a weird smell in there. So this one time my friend made me go there.... They seem to be unorganized in there. It took a while for them find us and take the drink order. I like that it's spacious and they have many television screens. Food: came out quickly. The blacked chicken was dry and generic. The salmon was good didn't go with the rice. I don't understand why the music is so loud here. Wednesday night this Earl's is almost empty... most of the patrons here were watching MLB playoffs. All these guys hanging out with guys. Maybe just an excuse for me to YELL at my Yelp Friend?! Or he just pretended that he cannot hear me...even I am yelling right into his face. $5.50 a pint for Albino Rhino is decent, cold and refreshing. $3 off one pound of chicken wings on Wednesday but since it is on special, no raw veggie on the side. At first I thought the kitchen forgot, but apparently that's not the case. Talking about being cheap for a business of this size and price point? How much does those celery and carrot stick cost? Services was definitely show and indifferent. With no one greeted me or taking my orders for quite awhile... until the nice bartender hopped over to my table and take my order. Probably won't be back! I do love Downtown's location with its huge patio, This location has nothing much to offer. read more

Really disappointing meal. Food was really underwhelming. Not the usual standard for Earls. Bangkok bowl was 1/2 shredded lettuce 1/2 basil rice with some other thin sliced veggies for garnish. Had to pay extra for chicken or beef. Sticky toffee pudding was a fail - it's not stick toffee pudding. It was a steamed chocolate pudding. Drinks were sent back 3 times because they were tasteless. We couldn't taste the ginger beer in the mule. The cucumber mojito - same thing... No flavour so sent it back. read more

We went to Earls Woodbridge this evening. We ordered $200+ of food. When it came the waiter removed the candle on the table to make room for the food. We paid our bill and left. The manger, short blond haired lady called us back saying we left something behind. When we returned she accused us of stealing their dollar store candle. This was so disrespectful and degrading. She did not ask the waiter just accused us. I went back in and called the waiter to the front with the manager and asked him in front of her and he confirmed that he removed it. This was all done at the front of the restaurant in front of other people. This was racial discrimination and point blank disgusting especially since we paid our bill of over $200. Completely disrespectful and disgusting. This woman should be retrained or removed as she definitely does not have customer service skills and completely ruined a night out. read more

This was a really nice patio area. Clean, beautiful, comfortable seating and a lot of space. We went on a weekday around 3pm. It was not busy at all. Appetizer: Yam Fries were delicious and fresh! Main Course: Southwest Vegetarian Burger was okay. Wish the bun wasn't overcooked as it took away from the taste. The bun was a tad bit too crunchy. We ordered the Santa Fe Salad with no chicken but rather more corn/beans and it was a large portion so me and my partner split it. This seemed like a good idea with the heavy burger we had (which we also split). All this was more than enough food for us and very filling! The food here is reasonable, if you can manage with average service and a lot of noise. We had the steak frites and fish and chips. The fish was excellent. A little oily, but tasty nonetheless. I would have preferred a small New York steak, the usual fare for steak frites, but the tenderloin was decent and cooked as I ordered, although not all that flavourful. The fries were crispy, how I like them, but somewhat over cooked, so ketchup to the rescue of dried out fries. I get it's the holidays, and everyone is busy, but that doesn't excuse average service. Still waiting on the water refill that never arrived after asking for it the one time the waiter checked in before we were done. Oh, and my knife had a bar code on it. Weird. read more
