Went there with my sister for her birthday. I ordered a lime margarita and she ordered red wine. For food, we both got the vegan Impossible Burger. The wine was OK but the margarita had a foul smell to it. The waitress replaced it with exactly the same thing with the same smell. An hour later we found out that the bartender had added raw egg whites to it to make it foamy! (Ewww) And there was no mention of the egg in the drink menu. The "burgers" arrived. Both patties (mine and my sister's) were not just dry but crunchy and burnt. All their sandwich had was bread, a burnt veggie patty, and lettuce. It was terribly tasteless and dry. Seemed like something they might serve to prisoners as punishment Even a four-year-old knows how to make a better sandwich than that atrocity! Not sure what is going on in that revolting kitchen but I am never going back. Went there on a Friday at 5 pm for daughters birthday. We arrived early and they were very friendly and gracious enough to sit us as soon as possible. Restaurant is very nice, ambience great. Both formal enough for a business dinner yet casual enough for a girls or guys night out after work. We ordered a mix of happy hour items and regular. I ordered Scallop rissotto which was incredible. The flavour, texture, creamyness. My mom ordered a 6 oz steak frites. Wow. What a steak. Better than Keg steak. She ordered it Medium. Happy hour items were great too. More Typical of Pub fare. Went there for my birthday dinner last night and wish I didn't. Terrible service. Our waitress looked almost annoyed to serve us. Everything took forever. Asked for water at least 5times. Asked to have food packed up to go 3 times. Asked for desert menu only for waitress to drop it off then disappear for 20 mins. We also orders pricey wine which was brought in a decanter. How are we suppose to know if it is the right wine? One of our guests really didn't like his meal and asked for something else and they still put his "sent back" meal on the bill. Asked the waitress to give bill according to guests and everything was mixed up for example my food was on someone else's bill and vise versa. Earls use to be known for their great service but certainly not this location. They have some serious work to do. I will not be going back to this location nor will I recommend it to anyone. read more

Sitting at the bar with my mother and friend and being chased out by someone who didn't even serve us saying we didn't put our bill???!?! All he says is well I don't know where the other bartender went.... I said bring her out here while we are waiting for an Uber. The manager who dealt with us was extremely unprofessional and not Experienced in hospitality. Very underwhelming experience and won't return to that disorganized restaurant. Ordered online, hunan kung pao bowl for pickup, received a call from the restaurant saying it's ready. After arriving and waiting 10 minutes for the pickup counter person to give me my order, they asked me to sit down while flagging down the manager. Manager came over 5 minutes later saying sorry the kung pao sauce had gone bad and the order wasn't ready. He asked if I wanted something else and took my order. Appreciate his efforts rushing the order but not sure why they called me saying the order was ready. Hopefully things turn up next time at this location otherwise no point ordering here. read more

folks, as the old saying goes: location, location, location!! as for this establishment, locationx3 and food, food, food! found out earls opened up at Ambleside. was in the area so why not visit for happy hour. after a long day of hiking, i do wanna relax and sip a cold one and munch on appys while enjoying a view. this place has it all! located right beside the beach on ambleside. just doesnt get any better than that. perfect views coupled with perfect bites! i love the open and bright concept of this restaurant. ultra sleek and modern furnishings, glass and steel. very high ceilings, clean surroundings and exceptional staff. got seated in 5 mins of asking for a table. we ordered from the happy hour menu: pizza with salami, coconut shrimp, spinach with 3 cheese dip, leroys dry ribs, chicken tacos, garlic fries, a glass of rhino lager and a sangria! the lager was so refreshing. the sangria came with real strawberries inside. wow! most just do a powdered or ready mixture...this one was made from scratch. the pizza was good. nice thin crust. might have come with a wee bit extra dusting of flour, but still tasty. the chicken tacos were amazing. real chicken was used and not grounded ones. the sauce was just right. the salsa and lime provided a very good mixture of flavours. the flour tortilla was soft and tender. heated up well so the tacos were not served cold. best part: you are provided with your own mini hot sauce squirt bottle. so chic and attentive to detail! the 3 cheese spinach dip was awesome. the cheeses blended well with the spinach well creating a creamy spread. it was also topped with crumbled feta...and came with generous portions of sliced crusty mini french breads.....crunchy delicious goodness in every bite. garlic fries were so good too. drizzled with garlic aioli and topped with fresh garlic. yummy beer perfect companion! the dry ribs were nothing special but it was done right and very tasty. came smoking hot and topped with real peppercorns. meat was tender and succulent. saving the best for last, the coconut shrimps were the start of the show. generous portions of huge succulent shrimps....each piece was perfectly coated with panko and shredded coconut creating a masterpiece. they did not cut corners here. breading was just right. the shrimps still took center stage. seasoned perfectly and came with a yummy dip that makes you want more... well done Earls mgmt! i will actually make the effort to pass by as much as i can. service was quick and efficient! our server made sure we were not forgotten. every request attended to. cheers! happy eating! read more

Been here a couple of times with my fiancée and always have a great time. The new ambience and decor is a fantastic place whether it's classy or casual you will love it. The time I felt I had to write a review was our last visit with the whole family. Our server (KD) was EXCELLENT. Exceptional service from start to finish. All of our meals were amazing to look at and indulge in! Just take a look at the photos and try it out as soon as you can. Already looking forward to going back. After one-hour waiting (it was supposed to be 15 min!) and every 10 min giving the excuse for their delay, I requested to talk to the manager to tell us whats going in this busy new branch of Earls?! Eventually, the Lounge Manager came, he was the rudest manager I have ever seen in Canada!! No apology, No concern, No responsibility I could see in him and just said this is what it is! I believe they need a manager with more experience to be able to manage and handle busy business and know the principles of customer service in CANADA! read more

Good experience overall. Service was attentive. Food was well-prepared and presented. Decent happy hour deals. Pretty much what I expect from an Earl's. One item really bothered me though. I had a $25 gift card. My bill was $94 including tax before the gift card. When the server saw the gift card she explained without prompting (in different words, but same effect) that the way the system works, the redemption of the gift card reduces the balance for me to tip against, she wanted me to be aware of that. My bill was $94 so after applying the gift card it was $69 and the machine default options were to tip 15%, 18% or 20% of $69. Meaning of course it would short the server even if I chose 20% - and she felt it important to highlight this to me. I overrode the default and tipped $17 based on the $94. I would have done this without the reminder. Admittedly, maybe I should have tipped $20 as I saved about $15 due to happy hour pricing - but I was a bit flummoxed about this already. The more I think about this the more I feel it was unnecessary for the server to mention this, even unprofessional. I do realize that tips are important, having worked in a restaurant during university summers years ago and knowing it is a tough job. But in my mind tipping should always be discreet - and appreciated. This just left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe it's just me! read more

Love Earls Ambleside. Such a great addition to the West Vancouver area. Love how they are supporting the front line workers during COVID-19 by donating meals to the hospital. I think that's so great and goes to show their sense of community. I also love how they have added grocery services on their take out menu, and at home meal kits. All around it's a great restaurant with pretty consistent food, and wonderful management and servers. I'll be a customer for life. read more

Thanks, Earls, for including a dedicated vegan friendly and plant-based menu at this fabulous and new location! We were on the north shore and decided on a Saturday morning to stop in for a brunch with friends. The restaurant is very clean and modern and the location is beautiful. We didn't have a reservation but our group of 6 was quickly seated in the lounge section of the restaurant. I selected the crispy tofu bowl and the green juice to drink. The bowl was really good: the tofu light and crispy (would be nice to have a little more marinated flavour to the tofu however), veggies are fresh and a good variety and the rice had a really tasty sauce. The price point is a little high for what it is (tofu + rice + veg), but it's very good and I would definitely order it again. The green juice was just the right amount of sweet and refreshing, too. Very expensive! We sat at the bar to eat because there was a little difficulty with requesting a table on behalf of the hostess. Our server was excellent, albeit so busy he was all over the place - not his fault. Several of us ordered burgers and we all asked for medium rare but they came out all different temperatures - my husband's being very well done. The food was good, but not what we hoped for especially for the price we paid. We just wrote it off for the $ to pay for being in Copley Square but I wouldn't go back. read more

If you expect an experience that is worth your money, please don't waste your time here. The restaurant itself looks high end, but it is messy, crowded, and the opposite of relaxing. This outing was for my grandfather's birthday, which I have explained to the servers. I asked if there was anything they can do (would be appreciated but definitely not expected), and they said that they would bring a dessert for him at the end of the meal. For any restaurant of this stature, a complimentary birthday dessert is the bare minimum. When it was time, they brought us a cheesecake that was presented very nicely but it was a bite size dessert, as expected if it was free. But it was not free. The tiny cheesecake was 13$, and they did not tell us that they would charge us. The waitress was also very clumsy and couldn't figure out our bill. The rest of the food was delicious which is the only thing saving this review. There are plenty of better Earl's locations to visit, this one is definitely not worth your time. We celebrated my son's 40th. birthday on Aug.6 and I am so glad we made a good decision to do that at this new modern restaurant with excellent staff especially Amyellian {hope I spelt your name right} The restaurant staff is very mindful of Covid 19 following all protocols. We ordered cajun chicken,cajun salmon,cajun chicken burger,chicken nuggets for our grand daughter 4 glasses of wine . The bill came to under $200 , which is very reasonable foe a restaurant of this calibre. This is the 4th. time to this premises. They have a heated patio. Has excellent happy hour menu. Our family has always loved eating at Earls, and today at brunch, that feeling was reaffirmed! The service was exemplary from the moment we were greeted and had hand sanitizer provided to us so professionally. We have been hesitant to go to restaurants due to Covid, but Earls Ambleside Beach has it down to an art, they made us feel very safe and comfortable the entire time. Our server, Peter, was super efficient and gave great menu advice! I've been to a few Earlses over the years but yesterday was my first time at the Ambleside location. I was really impressed! We were seated right away, and within a minute our server was there filling water glasses and asking about drinks. Our food came in a reasonable timeframe and our server knew just the amount of hovering/leaving us alone. She cleared empty dishes promptly but other than that we didn't see her much, which was perfect! The decor is tasteful and classy, but not obnoxious and pretentious like Glowbal, with lots of natural light. The acoustics are much better than the old Earls Tin Palace. The food was delicious and while I didn't find a ton on the menu that interested me I liked what I ordered. I would definitely come back. read more

Not pet friendly. Should be taken off the list of pet friendly restaurants. We are allowed to keep the dogs outside the railing. So they are not at on allowed on their premises. Not even on the edge of the rail inside the patio where they can avoid sunlight. The manager said "it's the law". That's fine but when we told them we have dogs, they should have informed of this clearly not wait till we seat and order our food and waste our time. I don't know this is the law every where or just West Vancouver, but i have been to other restaurants that let our dog stay on the patio before. This experience ruined our day. read more

We were in on a Thursday evening for a birthday and we had a superb server. Destiny was so attentive and even noticed the smallest things...like almost running out of ketchup. A new ketchup arrived before we had to even ask. Now that's five star service. The reason for 4 stars is that our drinks took longer then our appie to come out on Mother's Day last Sunday and we waited ages again for drinks this go. The service here was 5 stars. Honestly the best service I have had in a long time. All of the hosts & servers seemed young with great smiles & personality's. The food & drinks were deliciously made.
