Tuesday night dinner. The menu has food from several cultures including Caribbean, Cajun, Asian and South-East Asian. They also have gluten-free buns for their burgers! Yaay! Menu: The menu sometime changes at Earl's Test Kitchen. We ordered the Cajan Roasted Salmon and the Jerk Chicken. The Cajan seasonings were mainly salty...it could have had more flavor. The jerk chicken was better than I expected. The jerk sauce was flavorful without being too hot. Check their menu for daily specials which include 1/2 price bottle of wine. Venue: Very close to Robson Square. Centrally located. There are two areas in the restaurant that offer a quieter dining experience or a lively pub feel. Service: There was a long wait to be seated on a Tuesday night so we sat at the bar. The bartenders were very attentive, polite and friendly. read more

You will not be disappointed. Great service and casual atmosphere. Very tasty & interesting menu.

Came here two nights in a row while in Vancouver. Everything on the menu is delicious and you can't go wrong. The portions are big and the prices are very good for the quality and amount of food you get. Book a reservation on open table so you don't have to wait!! read more

Earles is consistent with good food options and bar options. We came here because of that. Really enjoyed the food and drinks. Had a pleasant experience with the waiter until he brought our food and didn't check in after that. Not once. It was a busy Friday but I'm not sure why he couldn't manage to stop by the table. We would have had more drinks and dessert but we decided we'd go spend our money elsewhere. We will likely go back for the good eats but will just need to remember to lower our expectations. read more

Had a fantastic time at the Langley location and our server Kenzi was the Best. Efficient and knowledgeable and was a great experience Thank you read more

We ordered their Turkey Meal to go in advance. They still required us to wait for half an hour when we arrived, and they did not provide utensils. The turkey and the mashed potatoes were salty and crumbled (not mashed) and the brussel sprouts were tasteless. They gave us a lot of mashed potatoes and not much brussel sprouts. The gravy was watery and salty in which you could not tell whether it was turkey, beef, or mushroom gravy. Moreover, their bread pudding was actually a foccasia bread pudding with white onions. It was misleading that they named it bread pudding. Also, their gingerbread cake was actually a molasses cake with a hint of spice; it was very sweet and you could not taste the ginger. The three toppings for the gingerbread cake were unnecessary: gingerbread cookie crumbs, apple cubes, and salted caramel which just tasted like regular caramel. The service and the food was disappointing. For the same price and the same food, Cactus Club is better. read more

This Earls location is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The decor and interior design breathe an air of upscale-ness. This is also the home to their test kitchen, which provides new dishes that the franchise hopes to try out in the future. We came here as large group and they were able to accomodate us. To start, I got the whiskey sour, which was made with egg white. The drink was made to standard, nothing out of the ordinary. For the main, I got the 8oz steak with a side pf vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked to my request. The carrots and mashed potatoes were okay too. However, at the end of the meal, our server took around 20 minutes to get our bills. The server then messed up the bill and had to re-print everyone's bills again. This whole ordeal was frustrating and delayed our schedule for the night. I hope that this is an one-off incident at this location and not reflective of the entire chain. read more

Came here for a chat after a big dinner. Even though test kitchen menu looked good, our party of 3 were simply too full so decided to pass and just get some drinks. I got a couple of ginger lemon lime mocktails and they were truly refreshing. I had a slight throat irritation so really enjoyed this drink full of citrus and ginger. The interior was very inviting. It was spacious and beautifully decorated with a clean, modern look. Our waitress was really warm and friendly so that added a nice touch. Too bad I wasn't hungry or else I would definitely try some of the items on the Test Kitchen menu. read more

My husband and I always stop here when we visit Vancouver. We came on Valentine's Day - which funnily enough we never go out to eat on V-day, but there we were. We were late to our reservation, but they still fit us in. Service was perfect, our waitress was super friendly and efficient. We were heading to a concert, so didn't have extra time. The food was delicious. My husband got steak and lobster and I had the butter chicken. OMG the butter chicken with basmati rice and naan is to die for good. We had the dynamite roll to start, it was tasty. This place is consistently good, with friendly service and a great ambiance. read more

I agree with Tod M., I think Earls to be quite good for being a chain restaurant. Despite the low ratings, I'm willing to give Earls 4 stars for what they offer. The ambiance is contemporary and somewhat trendy, way better than other chain restaurants like TGIF, Chili's, etc. In terms of the classiness of the decor, it's on par with Cheesecake Factory but with less frou-frou. I really liked "West Coast Prawn Salad with Citrus Honey Vinaigrette" which contains prawns, quinoa, and avocado. So healthy and tasty!! And their spicy shrimp pasta too was pretty good for what it is, but the salad was definitely better. I think people should stop judging chain restaurants. I'm telling you, for the affordable price, quality of the food, and the ambiance, Earls deserves more credit. And yes, I love Cheesecake Factory too. read more

Man this place sucks. Ordered online for pickup got there within 5 min of the app telling me things are ready. Brought it home and half of it was cold. The gravy is straight from a can/mix and really thick in not a good way. Pizza was burnt. My Cajun chicken sandwich was burnt too basically just extra crispy skin with a shitload of slaw on top. Not good. Fries cold but they were decent at least. Wing we're fine I guess on the small side definitely not worth the price. Place sucks for food don't even bother coming here so many better options around. read more

Am I the only one that naturally pulls out their drivers license to show the waiter your over 21 but then remembers that the legal drinking age is 19 here? haha I'm so not used to it. We came here after dinner just to get some drinks. The place was very dim, but a nice spot to have dinner or just hang out. The place wasn't too busy so we were immediately sat at a booth when we came in. We ordered the Paloma, Marilyn Monroe, and Raspberry Mojito. They were all good but wasn't very strong which I guess we didn't mind since we wanted something sweet. But if you wanted that hard liquor taste, you should probably get something else. Can we appreciate that the bathroom signs are figurines in the middle of their door? The ladies bathroom had Wonder Woman and the men's bathroom had Superman which I thought was super cute! Overall, we had good conversations and had a great experience here :] read more

We came here around 4:30pm and decided to have an early bite. I ordered the 8oz. Sirloin, it comes with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. When my food came it looked very nice. After I had an bite of my mashed potatoes I noticed it was cold, at first I thought it was in my head so I had my fiancée tried it and he confirmed me I was right. Normally I am not one of those customer who will make a big deal and have my food send back to the kitchen, so I thought I would give the mashed potatoes a couple more tries.. After trying a couple more bite. The mashed potatoes was definitely left over from the lunch time and they reheated it for me and didn't realized it was still cold (it wasn't even lukewarm, it was cold). So I decided to ask the waiter nicely if the mashed potatoes is supposed to be cold, he was very nice and took my plate back to the kitchen. By the time my plate came back, my steak was already cold and they used the same mashed potatoes from the previous plate and reheated it again. I was very disappointed that my steak was cold and the vegetable was cold too it wasn't very enjoyable, the only thing that was warm is the reheated mashed potato. Meatless to say we hurry up finished our food and got our bill, there was no discount on the bill for serving me cold mashed potatoes which turns into a plate of cold meal. I don't think I'll ever come back to this location, the one in Yaletown is much better. read more

Not sure what's happened at Earl's. The food is just not that good anymore ---overpriced tacos, pizzas with next to no toppings, many items not available. Cactus club does things right. We thought we'd try it with the new menu but it's the same low level offerings. read more

Came here yesterday for lunch and had the 7oz sirloin for $24 which included mash potatoes and veggies. I was a little sad with the size of the sirloin when it came out, hoping it would appear a bit bigger, but it does have girth, which doesn't show in the picture. Anyways the entire meal was delicious. The sirloin was phenomenal, I could taste the differences between the outside and inside of the meat. The mash potatoes was buttery and just irresistible and addictive. Heck, even the veggies were amazing too. If it doesn't cost dinner prices, I would definitely come here more often for lunch. Food and service was quick and attentive. It's a pretty big location and conveniently located, so will also be good for groups and drinks also. Can't believe I'm going to give Earls 5 stars, but yes, my experience yesterday was worth of the full 5 stars! read more

Good ambiance, decent food but nothing over the top too make you scream wow. I think this is a great place to watch a game and grab some shareable bites. Burgers and pizzas look good. I went with a poke bowl. Nice flavors, but there are so many other choices for poke in Vancouver. Test dish didn't appeal to meal that night but it's a good concept that more places should adopt. The service was impressive. Accommodating, friendly and willing to make recommendations as they get a chance to try out dishes. read more

My friends and I did a walk in a few weeks back and my overall experience was okay. I think the server was having a bad day and I felt that she didn't really pay attention to us too much. We did come during a non busy time so I felt somewhat neglected. I will not point names on who this server was. But I think that earls staff should just understand that their servers should care more about their customers rather than checking their phones. Food was done well, drinks were good. service wasn't the best. Hope that server is doing better though! read more

Had been to the Earls in Whistler before so we were excited to see this one just a few blocks away from our hotel, The Cascadia. We weren't starving and looking for a full dinner so we split a few appies. We had the calamari, tempura shrimp sushi & prawn tacos. The calamari rings were quite tiny but perfectly cooked. Red onions should be removed as they add nothing to the dish. The tzatziki sauce they serve with it tastes okay but I would prefer and aioli sauce to dip them in. The tempura shrimp sushi was allso okay but I would have liked it to be bigger. Prawn tacos definately the best app. of the 3. Tasty nuggets of shrimp in a warm tortilla with a lime chili dipping sauce. Vodka martini left a lot to be desired. Alexander Keiths IPA no good. Albino Rhino dark ale one of the best beers we have ever drank, and we drink a lot of beers. Nice server (Jason) Will go back again next time we are in Vancouver. read more

The service could have been a little better because they brought the wrong cocktail twice and kept forgetting to bring my husband a clean water glass, but we enjoyed this restaurant and the food. The fish tacos were sooo delish and flavorful. The first one I had was good but a little dry, then the second one was amazing and I realized it was because they forgot to put the sauce on the first one. My husband got the steak and sushi, both of which were super yum. Definitely recommend! read more

Had a late night dinner here on a Friday night. Seems to be poppin' at this restaurant and is obviously quite popular. Our experience was so-so at best. We were seated right away but the service was slow. Our waitress was kind but the kitchen was pretty slow and our food sat under the warmer longer than it should have before being brought to us. They had a good selection of happy hour foods (after 9pm) and the Bigger Better Burger was $2 less so we both ordered that. The bun was really good. Made of brioche, so it was super soft and fluffy so not overly filling like a lot of buns are. However, it was definitely overall in the mediocre category. The music was really loud like a club, which doesn't make sense in a sit down restaurant setting. read more

Came here for the 9pm happy hour on a weekday evening. We came a but before 9 and let our waitress (Angie? Long blonde hair with British accent) know we were waiting for the drink specials. We got a gin and ginger/gin and tonic. Our waitress asked us what gin we would like, and explained that they offer "Bombay, tanqueray, and something else". She didn't remember the last brand but said that she could check - we said the tanqueray was fine. Drinks were fine, tonic water came in a cute little glass bottle. Ordered another round or 2, with captain Morgan and coke. Upon paying the bill we noticed that the drinks were double the price listed for a highball (3.50). We asked our waitress and she went to check. Apparently the tanqueray and the captain Morgan's weren't included in happy hour highballs. We thought she should've mentioned this as we specifically said we were waiting for happy hour. She went to go speak to the manager again. They reduced the price of our drinks to 3.50, HOWEVER added the price of a tonic water (about 1.75) to all the drinks we ordered. We both noticed but didn't speak up for a third time. However it's unfortunate that they misinformed us and deceptively changed the bill again. Speaks volumes about their management style and how they treat their customers. read more

Busy busy place! We went on a Friday night around 9. We joined the crowd of people waiting outside, clutching our coaster and praying it would light up. This Earl's has a different vibe than the one on Broadway- that one seems more casual, this one seems sleek and dark. Super skinny waitresses all in black slip through the crowded tables to bring you your food and martinis. They are a little slower on the water refills and non-bar drinks. The alfredo was wonderful- the noodles are at least an inch wide. I love that. The sauce was rich, so save some for lunch tomorrow. The cajun chicken sandwich is great. On a fluffy ciabbata bread roll, the sandwich comes cut into two triangles. I opted to pay more for a side salad over fries, but I was not impressed with the salad. A little lame, the vinaigrette it comes with is pretty weak. I think this is a fun place to stop in during a night of fun. The food was good, but you could also come just to enjoy the drinks. read more

Recommend! We went there for dinner on a Saturday and we got a table for two very quickly. We ordered the 8oz steak with mushroom sauce (+$3.50) and it was delicious. It is one of the best steaks I tried in town. It came with vegetables and mashed potato. This dish was very tasty and the steak really juicy. We also ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. It was really juicy as well and the fries were great. For dessert we had the Warm Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake with Vanilla Gelato. It is a warm dark chocolate pudding cake with a little bit caramel and chocolate on the side, and the Gelato came on a sugary basket. Quite delicious! I am definitely going back and trying other things of the menu because everything that passed our table looked delicious. read more

The sushi was very delicious! I ordered the dynamite and tuna rolls, and my family members ordered fettuccini, the bigger burger and the short rib. The fettuccini was the best item received. I usually don't eat at chain restaurants..I find that the food is only mediocre at best (except Swiss Chalet). I decided to eat at Earls. Maaannnn...I was not disappointed!! I had the Cajun Chicken breast with the warm potato salad & coleslaw accompanied by a cold Kokanee Beer. The food was indescribable good. The chicken was cooked to perfection. Juicy as you'd want it. The warm potato salad was amazing with just the right amount of dill. All in all for sure a 5 star meal! This is a do-over! read more

Food was good and we were happy to find a restaurant which has a plant based menu as well as a full "standard" menu. However, despite the dining room being very quiet (an entire section was closed off) the service was tremendously slow, waiting 20 mins after ordering to receive our drinks. Pretty disappointing for the prices and considering all of the other competition in the city. Likely won't be returning. read more

Awesome time at Earls! Tried the Big Better Burger and it was delicious and perfectly cooked. Size was manageable and not messy and the fries were crisp. I also had a side of gravy which was deliciously made. The only knocked qould be the service was not the greatest. Didnt refill my water and awkward conversation. But i guess i got a newbie in the industry. We were also seated closest to the washroom when tons of tables were available. No one is a fan of washroom table. I don't think you can compare it to "boutique" restaurants, or I'd have to give it only 3 stars. But if we could limit it's category to the type of large comfortable chain it is, then I would be glad to give it 4.5 stars. We were there for a late dinner (9 or 10pm on a Sunday night?). The hamburgers were very very good, along with the side dishes. I liked the menu very much. The drinks were not too weak. We couldn't see the staff well enough to tell if they were the good-looking lot so many others have referred to! It was a very laid back Sunday night mood, and the lights were very low. Lots of Christmas decorations made it very warm. The service was in the average range, nothing impressive but also not annoying. All in all very comfortable and just a bit better than we expected. read more

I don't frequent Earls often but when I do they are on point! This location especially. The servers are wonderful and exceptional at their jobs. Super attentive to their guests needs and always ask how everything is! My mom and I caught Deadpool 2 at the theatre and weren't looking to walk too far for lunch so we settled on Earls as it's familiar and has really versatile food options. We ordered the Dim Sum for an appetizer and shared the fish tacos for our main. Both were absolutely delicious, the dim sum was flavourful with accompanying sauces. They could have been a touch hotter but I'm use to eating them right out off the stove and they're piping. I understand they don't want anyone getting a burnt tongue. The tacos were fantastic - moist, cheesy, crunchy; all the textures you want in a taco. They also came with garlic fries that were very addicting. I couldn't stop eating them. All in all a wonderful meal and we left happy as can be! read more

The food's aight. It's Earls, it is what it is. What I would recommend is their focaccia. You get a ridiculously huge slab, and tearing it bit by bit is oh so satisfying! And it only costs $2.50! Their pasta is ridiculously huge as well...you get 2 meals worth, easy. The atmosphere is decent...comfy chairs, dim lighting...I do like the staircase leading up to the washrooms (but that's about it.)
