Back side of Apple Fritter Donut with some dark spots or burn spots.

I ordered through Uber Eats and wanted to try their apple fritter. Was disappointed in what I received. The outside of the fritter was hard and bitter to eat almost like it was burnt on the outside. I only ate the inside and it was decent but not enough apple for my taste. In the picture that whole part was just hard to eat and unappetizing. I feel like they try to cover it up by just glazing it.

First off, the donuts are insanely fresh and absolutely delicious. I can definitely taste the difference between Earl's vs. other donut shops. They're so soft and not too sweet. Whether you're into classic glazed or something more creative (like fruity pebbles or a maple bacon cresnut)... there's always a great variety to choose from. What makes Earl's stand out even more is their array of items they offer beyond donuts... muffins, bagels, smoothies, fresh juices (made with fresh veggies and fruits), and coffees. They even have CA Lottery vending machines if you're feeling extra lucky! Haha The staff is friendly and quick, and it just has an overall welcoming, neighborhood feel. I used to pick these donuts up for the office staff when I was teaching, and there was never one leftover! Whether you're stopping in for a treat or picking up breakfast on the go, Earl's is 100% worth the stop.

Finally got to try this place! My coworkers all raved about this place since they got it all the time growing up and I have never until now. Our usual go to is a mom and pop one up by us but my boss decided to grab some for the office so I finally got to try it! Fresh, soft, incredibly delicious, melt in your mouth goodness!! They're exactly like the ones by our house which I was super happy about! Gives us another excuse if we are out this way. I'm a classic maple bar gal and that's the one I went for! Earl's is definitely a solid spot for a late night or early morning. The donuts were fresh, and they have a nice variety from the classic glazed and unique options like their ube cake. The apple fritter and blueberry cake is a standout too. They're not overly greasy, and the texture is light and fluffy, which I really appreciate. The place is open 24/7, so it's super convenient if you're craving something sweet. The service is friendly, and there's plenty of parking. Bring cash, as I had to pay a 50 cents credit card fee if youre not going to pay over $10, but overall, it's a great spot for donuts.

The ROSE on top of the vanilla donut is FOAM RUBBER. Any other cook would make a decorative donut made of fondant or frosting. Earl's uses FOAM RUBBER. Hahah hahaha hahahaha. OMFG. That's horrendous. A seriously lazy and a dirty trick to play on your customers. SEE PHOTO.

I have been coming here since I was a little kiddo and now I bring my daughter here at least once a week! Yummy donuts, breakfast sandwiches, so many options, and amazingly friendly service! I'm so happy that something I enjoyed as a kid has stood the test of time. A great local donut shop that never misses.

My roommates and my favorite place to get late night donuts. We came around 1:30am and the donuts were fresh out the fryers. The guy even suggested ordering a different donut because it was fresher than the one we initially wanted. Everything tastes so heavenly. Our hidden gem of the valley. read more

Earl's has been my go to donut shop since, gulp, 1973. They are always open and have been a fixture in the lives of community members, with locals visiting daily to get their fix. They were even open the day of the Northridge earthquake despite their glass storefront in shards on the floor. Day or night their donuts are always fresh and they have a wide variety of the standards. My parents aren't fans of the coffee but I've never tried it. (There are 2 Starbucks across the street if it's not your fav either.) read more

After reading the reviews, my guy and I were assuming we would be getting some pretty damn amazing donuts. I had Boston Cream, and he had a glazed and a maple-something. They were good, but in a pretty average donut way. Same kind of donuts can be had at Winchells, or any other strip mall donut spot. If I found myself standing outside of Earl's for some reason, I would go in and get a donut, but otherwise I would go somewhere closer. And this is less than two miles from my house. read more

Came for a midnight snack, and this jerk working in the back came up to the front after a minute or two and maybe said one or two words to us, then we told him we couldn't decide what we wanted. I asked him a question about a donut and he briefly answered it with a one word answer and stormed to the back. After a few minutes, I made eye contact with him hoping he'd come back to get our order. He looked at me, and looked back down at what he was doing. Idk if this is Earl, but if it's not, FIRE HIM. Good fresh donuts. I always get the $6.25 mixed dozen deal they have. Watch out though as this is a local old mens hangout and I always get dirty looks from the locals who hang outside Earls. They must know Im not from they hood. read more

Picked up donuts and a crenut at 11p.m. ; They had a big selection with fresh, soft great tasting donuts. They call it a crenut, but it had a great texture and the chocolate on top was so creamy. None filled, but we will have to try it next time. Love that it is open 24/7 read more

Donuts here are good and service is good. Seems like they have a lot of regulars and the Asian folks that run it are friendly. I bought 2 dozen donuts for work the other morning and she said she threw in an extra 4, cost me $15. Parking is easy and they sell lotto tickets. I will come back. read more

This place was recommended to me by a friend and it is good. Friendly staff and great coffee. I like two kinds of donuts French curl and custard filled which are my childhood favorites growing up. They are in a good location because they have a trader joes in the shopping plaza and Sharkeyz to open up soon. This is bound to be the local hang out place. read more

I base my review of a donut shop on 3 donuts: chocolate devils food, French cruller and glazed. Tonight I had the devils food with nuts and the French cruller. The devils food was perfect, a little crunchy not greasy on the outside, slightly moist on the inside, fresh peanuts. So good!!! The French cruller was firm on the outside and the perfect amount of moistness on the inside - perfectly glazed. I'm very impressed! My donut shop going forward. Excellent maple old fashioned. I normally eat the tops off my donuts, but here was the exception. Each layer complimented one another. I did not want to omit anything. The frosting was rich, sweet, buttery with homemade flavor. The donut was just the right thickness, made with buttermilk. The edges of each donut had a slight fried crunch/grit texture, total perfection on texture. I loved that after finishing my donut, I wasn't left with a waxy coating along the roof of my mouth. Next time I will try the apple fritter. This place was easy to spot in trader joes shopping center and plenty of parking. read more

I love this place. Places in the valley that cater to a sense of community are few and far between. One is always greeted with a smile and there is always a table or two of "regulars" at Earl's. And the donuts and croissants are delicious. Last time I was there I had the ham and cheese croissants with jalapeños, heated just a bit. Wonderful! I have always had a good experience, whether I go inside to order or use the app. The staff is always friendly as well. The only reason I took 1 star off is because today I was shopping at Amazon and saw they had the brown sugar toffee latte and decided to try it. The girl that helped me (has helped me before as well) has always had somewhat of an attitude. I don't even think she made my drink correctly as it was undrinkable. So the one star off is because of her - but other than her, everyone has been amazing. The space is clean as well. Parking: it is in a shopping center and parking is usually easy.

I come to Earl's to support my gambling habit of buying lottery tickets. The parking lot here is a mess and is always crowded with people coming to Baskin Robbins or Sharkey's. The store here isn't super clean. The floor is dirty and they don't seem to wipe down the tables after people have eaten donuts or spilled their coffee. That should be a priority at a donut shop. The donuts here are not really that good. I've eaten a couple in the past and they were just ok. Seemed like they were sitting in the case for a day because they were pretty dry. I no longer eat donuts here anymore for that reason and their health violations. I would think twice about eating donuts from Earl's. The health department closed this place down for vermin infestation the last three years. You would think they would get a handle on that and not let it happen after the first time. Earl's gets 2 stars since I've won money from here at different times. read more

I had a terrible experience here. The employee made me and another customer wait while she stood around discussing the schedule with a coworker, completely ignoring us. When she finally acknowledged me, she refused to let me buy six raspberry jelly donuts as part of my dozen, even though there were at least 20 sitting right there. Her reason? "I have to leave some for others." Really? She was dismissive, rude, and clearly not interested in providing good service. I left immediately and won't be back. Thankfully, I found "The Donut Shop" just a few blocks away. Not only were their donuts incredibly fresh and delicious, but the staff was friendly, professional, and actually cared about their customers. Go there instead. You'll be glad you did. read more

I used to go to Earl's years ago every time I was out in the Valley and it was the best little donut shop in LA! I hadn't been back to LA or the Valley in more than 10 years, so when I drove by and saw the familiar "Earl's" sign I had to stop in. The atmosphere is different and the donuts were... donuts. Nothing to rave about anymore. The sign might be the same, but Earls' just isn't "Earl's" anymore. Time to take down that sign and rebrand with "Donut Shop" or something more generic. You can't promise an "Earl's" donut and deliver just average donuts. The get two stars instead of one because... donuts! read more

Do NOT trust this store if you place an order there - not even if you prepay. They'll "forget" to hold your order THE DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS (after telling you that they will call you an hour before closing to remind you to pick it up). I arrived 1 1/2 hrs before closing and was first told they had no orders left for pick-up. When I told the male clerk that the woman he was working with had taken my order and my money, she went back & found my order slip & said "I forgot about this." Have you ever woken up at 2 AM fiending for sugar?? These donut nightmares are a regular occurance in my life : ( The fix is a trip to Earls Donuts. I don't know what it is about the donut batter, but the light, full , buttery, doughy taste is unbeatable. Best donuts ever read more

Great donuts! Not super fancy. Just great FRESH donuts. Go by at night and they are still warm. Family owned and they could not be nicer! If you need a large batch of donut holes on a weekend get there early because lots of team moms swing by on their way to Mason Park. read more

Amazing! we got breakfast for the team and let me tell yall- you get your money worth! only $8 for croissant with egg/cheese/ham which was fresh and really filling . Honestly, that's a steal deal! I'll be back very soon! read more
