Rachel was our server and she was absolutely the best server we've encountered anywhere. Rachel was super friendly, she gave clear expectations and updates on our orders and made us feel really welcomed and appreciated. She was just truly a gem. I would recommend the corned beef hash skillet as it had tender pieces of beef throughout and the portion size was good. Poached eggs were an option and they were done to perfection. Great breakfast place - definitely the highlight of my dining experiences while visiting the UP. It has all of your standard American breakfast fare, but it does it all extremely well. The Southern Apple Waffles were great - and "the famous Yooper-bon" was delicious as well. Service was great - quick and friendly. There is outdoor seating available which can get chilly with the morning wind, but is an option for larger parties willing to bundle up to get in quicker. There was a 10-15 minute wait when we arrived at 9 and the line seemed to be steady the entire time we were dining there, so definitely arrive early if you want to avoid the line! This is a really nice breakfast place, very good, tasty skillet menu and you need to be very hungry to actually finish it. - Hash browns maybe a bit too greasy for my taste, but still a good winter morning breakfast. Friendly waitress and good coffee, what more can you expect in place like Munising, MI? No pun intended, but if it was not for dog sled racing and no available place in Marquette we probably would not end up in Munising, an old mining town that has seen better days and a bit depressing in Winter time (most of establishments closed), Summers might be better choice and Pictured Rocks tour, maybe beach going (hm, Lake Superior averages 65 degrees in August!!!) Was looking for a place to eat and happened across this place. Very small on the inside, but the atmosphere was great. It was very busy for a late Wednesday morning and the 2 servers running the floor were doing so great! The place is small with outdoor seating in the summer. My friend and I sat at the counter so we could watch the action in the kitchen and in the prep area which is tight. I was impressed with how well they managed. Our server never introduced herself, but she was nice and pleasant. My friend asked for a variation and while the food was good, the presentation was odd. I had the Legendary #2. The eggs were fine, the bacon was excellent, and those pancakes which were more like hoecakes were the bomb. So good. There are other breakfast places in town, but it's the most obvious. My friend and I got there around 9A and it was already crowded so plan accordingly. read more

The food was good...... I don't usually write negative reviews but this was a little ridiculous. The girl who was our sever was even nice but at one point told me to remind her that I'd like water... huh? I just ordered it. Soooo, we went to the place on the recommendation of our hotel front desk. There was a line, we waited. After we were sat outdoors we waited an hour and 15 minutes for our food. It was hot outside. They moved our table to the shade but I was already sick to my stomach and so was my nephew. When the food finally arrived, they had forgotten my sisters food. They didn't come back to check on our table to see how everything was.... She never got her food. She was so over it and they nicely said they'd make it for her or take it off her bill... she wasn't sticking around... her hill for her 2 kids for pancakes and a waffle was over $40. The whole thing should have been free. Not even a refill on water. But the food was good! 1 star for the food, the rest sucked. Sorry to the business owner in advance. But ya gotta know. Walked in was acknowledged by waitress with her head down, looked up and was shocked seeing 4 Hispanic young ladies looked at everyone around and everyone stared and after that no acknowledgment whatsoever stating they will be with us in a min or it will be a few mins to be seated, nothing. We decided to leave, as we left a family left also. nothing was said that a table would be available. We felt so unwelcome, Good thing DogPatch Restaurant was open and they acknowledged us, good atmosphere, waitress was nice, we didn't wait long on our food. Food was on point, we left a good tip. I wouldn't recommend that you come here if you have more than 4 people. It's small and really better suited for small parties. You will wait a very long time for your food. We waited around an hour for them to deliver our food from the time we ordered. They also forgot the bacon and avocado on my BLAT (Bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato) chicken sandwich. They made it right by comping my meal and they gave us a discount for the wait but I will not go back to eat here. My kids enjoyed the chicken tender basket but I felt like the fries were overdone. Would not go back here. They don't tell you when they upcharge you until you get the bill like adding on cost for the burnt fries. The slimiest thing was with a party of 5 is considered a "Large party" so they auto add on the 20% gratuity. Which was fine by me but on the second bill after you pay they make no mention that you already tipped them. So they want another 20% on top of the 20% you already paid which means you end up paying a 44% tip (tipping on a tip) if you didn't notice you already tipped. Very crooked and slimy. Came here for breakfast one of the days I was in the UP of Michigan. There weren't a lot of places to grab breakfast that weren't just coffee shops. So when this place popped up when I was searching on here, I read a few reviews to see what others said about this place and they were pretty good. So I had to check it out and I really wanted a place I could chill in town and upload photos to my iPad that I could edit from my camera. So as always I got an omelette with hashbrowns, and toast. I always get this meal first at a place to see if the mess this up or not. It's a test for me to see if they can handle a simple meal before I send more money on something else. And they did a great job on it. The food was hot and delicious. The staff here were all nice and checked up on me a few times while I was here. I liked how busy they stayed while I was here because you can tell the locals enjoyed this place as much as I did. Next time I'm up here I'll for sure be coming here for my breakfast. read more

We were there a few weeks ago , our first trip to the UP. The place was packed but we didn't mi d the wait. the waitress brought me coffee while we waited for a table. we didn't wait long to be seated. She took our order and answered all our questions. lol we had 2 teenage girls with us. Maybe 15 -20 minutes and our food came. WOW! I don't know how we ate all that food but we did and it was one of the best breakfasts we ever had! I highly recommend this place. well worth it!!!! read more
