We were traveling up an incline on 70 in an old 79' van with a carburetor that had not been adjusted for the altitude! No joke, we were going around 40mph or slower on the side of the highway, just sputtering along. A tow truck appeared behind us and followed us for a while. Unfortunately, our hazard lights weren't working, so it was much appreciated to have him pull up behind us with his hazards on, following to ensure we were ok. After 5 minutes, we finally decided to give up and stop to let the tow truck guy help us out. Come to find out, it was the owner of Eagle Vail Towing, John, that appeared behind us! He hooked us up and towed us to the top of the summit. But because we still had about an hour to go before we hit Denver, we still needed the assist. So John called up one of his guys with a bigger rig that could take us there. Both were so helpful and kind and patient! John waited with us on the side of the road till his guy came, and as we contacted our insurance about coverage for the tow. I wish I could remember who drove us. Regardless, we had great conversations on our drive, and he was willing to stop off somewhere so we could get lunch along the way - even offered us his personal snacks. He dropped us off as soon as we were down off the summit in a safe parking lot (the van worked fine then). So so so grateful for these angels. They really saved our asses from trucking up that hill for god-knows-how-long, in addition to the time we would've waited to get a tow truck to us. Thanks, Eagle Vail!

This company took complete advantage of my situation. $700 dollars later, and I was out of a very minor snow bank. After getting out of the ditch, they asked if they could move the car, so "you don't get it stuck again". That's when the driver, John, got it stuck a second time and had to tow it out. Which I paid for.

Service was excellent. A leaf spring on my 4wd vehicle broke when I was far up a dirt road north of Wolcott. The vehicle was undriveable at that point. Fortunately I had a cell phone signal. EVT was very responsive. Matt contacted me, came to my location, put my vehicle on his flatbed and hauled me all the way back to the Front Range. Because of EVT's can-do attitude, the time from when my vehicle broke down to when EVT dropped it off at my local shop and I got home was much shorter than it could have been, eight hours instead of possibly days. Matt is a very skillful driver and tower who enjoys his work. He was a lively ractoneur during the four plus hours we spent together. Since I was 6.5 miles up a rough 2wd road, the service was considered a recovery and not a tow. Recovery is more expensive than towing so the total for the complete operation was anything but cheap. My one complaint is that EVT requires a $500 start-the-meter fee paid before the drive starts heading towards the customer. The only practical way to make this payment is by credit card. EVT charges 3.5% for using a credit card so the initial payment ends up being $517.50. Since there is no other way to make that payment EVT should either say in advance that the initiation fee is $517.50 or not charge the extra credit card fee. The 3.5% fee is also added on to the remaining fee if is made by credit card, but this is somewhat less irksome since at least one has the possibility of making this payment in cash. (EVT does not accept checks.)

Heaven Sent! My family and I are moving cross country and we picked the best weekend to do so. During the middle of a BLIZZARD! Gabe pulled up as I panicked and my 18 month old screamed in the back. He explain what he was going to do. Got us out of harms way. He directed us how to get back to town. He left during that 1 minute we were pushed off to a ramp. As we heading back to the freeway we got stuck again!!! On a bridge!!!! At this point Gabe was gone. We called our roadside assistance and they couldn't find any help. Police couldn't help since there was no bodily injuries. I called Gabe he was in the middle of a tow but promised to come back...he did!!!! He got us off the bridge and directed us to go to the closest Walmart to get Autosocks....one light away from the Walmart we get stuck again!!!!! At this point I lost hope. I decided to leave my husband with my son in the car and walk to the Walmart. It was closed!!! I cried and prayed for direction for hope... I looked to my left and our angel was unloading a tow! He screamed for me to get in his truck and took me back to my family. At this point nothing was open due to the storm. The man literally guided us to the top of the hill where we could safely go down hill. After 3 hours of being stranded we made it safely to our hotel room. Honestly if it wasn't for Gabe things could of gone bad quickly. Not only did he go up and above so help us. He saved my sanity. No words can express my gratitude for all his help! Gabe once again thank you for everything thing you did for us. You don't understand the impact you made. Thank you

USE AFFORDABLE TOWING!!! Andrei is AMAZING!…read more -Professional, Quick & Efficient, Kind, & Affordable- my car slid off of i-70 wednesday night near edwards, & I went through my insurance to get a tow, but got set up with three companies that were trying to tell me it'd cost $1000-2000 to just get it out of the ditch, as a college student, I didn't have that in cash nor did i have it to spare, so I cancelled on those companies, which has harassed me all thursday morning. Then I called a friend that was originally from the area when I slid off to see if she had better recommendations than the insurance company. She recommended affordable towing, and I called Andrei. He answered right away and gave me a much lower, much more reasonable price. I was stuck at a gas station, and he came to pick me up to get my car within 15 minutes! Super quick, super affordable, super nice!!! I explained to him the charade i went through that morning and he explained to me that it was a big scheme set up by a guy named john who runs three towing companies that are in partnership, I was so relieved he explained it because i had been so frustrated. Those three companies you should NOT go to are : Eagle-Vail towing, JD towing, and Mountain Recovery towing - DO NOT GO THERE, especially if you're a woman. They harassed me and called me 9 times that day to see if i could pay $750, I said no repeatedly and the first time i met the man who was towing he told my $350, but then it was raised after we got to my car originally , luckily my insurance called me saying they were jacking up the price to 750! The man also harassed me by asking for my social medias in a flirty way that made me feel uncomfy. So, after all that Andrei helped me out quickly, efficiently, & professionally!!! He was so great!! He made me feel so much more relieved after an already crappy situation, even was able to take my car to the shop after I decided it didn't feel safe to drive. He took me to a great recommended, trustworthy place in Avon! Thank you!! i appreciate you so much for your help and professionalism!

I was ripped off, insulted, and threatened with physical violence…read more $1,900 for a spark plug replacement?! Absolute robbery. This is a $500 job, $600 max. I checked with other shops in the area. This is not even in the ballpark of a fair price. They are lying about providing an estimate prior to service. That never happened. They threatened to "kick my a**" because I was attempting to argue these charges. They called me a dbag, told me to F myself. All sorts of profanity and insults. Just an absolutely insane way to treat a customer who has brought business to them for years. Never again. My fault for trusting them to conduct their business in an honest manner. I've taken vehicles here before so I wasn't expecting to get ripped off and extorted like this. I certainly was not expecting to be threatened with violence. It is unfathomable to me how a business owner could think that scamming, stealing from, insulting, and threatening working people in their own community will be a successful business strategy. If this is how they treat locals, imagine how they treat tourists... Edit: the business owner is blatantly lying in their reply to this review. I WAS NEVER PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE. Stop lying. Charge me a fair price, and don't threaten to beat me up when I complain about you scamming me. It's really not that difficult. Just be a decent human being. What is wrong with these people? This place used to be ok. Sadly, not anymore. I dont know what changed, but do yourself a favor and steer clear.

DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS NECESSARY…read more 25 year Eagle County Resident. Go to a better shop in Eagle or Eagle Vail for better prices and superior service. I have used this shop previously and they did a fine job (when they first opened). However, the service is incredibly inconsistent and the customer service from Clarence is insulting. Clarence could care less about your time or providing information. Less than 20 minutes after receiving a verbal quote for various services from the other front of house person - he has always been great - and returning with my vehicle, Clarence let me know that he could not give me further information and I would have to sit and wait until they could get me in, 3 hours later. I indicated that I received a quote earlier and he said he was too busy to look into it, because he had phone calls. This is not the first adverse experience with this shop, particularly Clarence, and I would avoid it at all costs, if possible. Stay away, if at all possible and, if Clarence is serving you, ask for another representative. **Follow up - the shop in Eagle Vail quoted about $200 less and did so in writing. If I could give negative stars for customer service, I would.
