At the end of January 2023, a neighbor slid into my van because the Motel Management was negligent in keeping their parking lot plowed during a snow storm. There was a good 10-12" on the ground. My neighbor who hit me asked me to get an estimate from Gerber Collision in Avon CO. On Feb 2nd I went to Gerber w/ my neighbor. He paid $385 that day for the parts and we were told the first available date to get an appointment was 5 weeks later on Monday March 13th. Whaaaat???? 4 days prior on Thurs March 9th I received a vml from Gerber stating they canceled all appointments until further notice due to lack of technicians. Whaaaat??? I contacted my neighbor and shared the news. He was proactive and got me an appointment the next day to get an estimate at Mid alley Auto Body in Eagle-Vail CO. I was given an estimate for $350 LESS than Gerber Collision's $893 quote. I was told to bring my car in 2 days later at 8am. My vehicle was repaired & ready for p/u by 11am!!! SWEEEET!!! My neighbor was given the run around by Gerber when he requested his $385 parts payment refund by Gerber who admitted they had not even ordered the parts yet and said they don't order parts for repairs until 7 days before an appointment??? Huh???? 4 days before my appointment they said they can order the parts but they wouldn't be in until March 25th???? Whaaaat??? Are you following my account of the timeline? Gerber was telling story after story - lie after lie. Today is April 7th. My neighbor finally got his $385 refund FROM ME today because Gerber wrote the refund check in MY NAME!! when they charged the $385 to my neighbor's credit card!! My neighbor picked up the refund check at Gerber after the first check was claimed to have been mailed to an address that Gerber's Avon Rep knew does not accept mail for his tenants! My neighbor had to mail the check to me to my home in CT because I had to leave the Vail Valley unexpectedly a month early. I pray Gerber's check doesn't bounce because I mobile deposited their check and processed a $385 check through my bank's BillPay system immediately. I felt so bad for the BS the Gerber organization put my neighbor through to get his refund let alone the inconvenience they caused me having to wait 5 weeks for my appointment to fix my vehicle then being told 4 days before they did not know when they would be able to schedule a date to repair my vehicle when MidValley Auto Body did the estimate, ordered the parts, received them and had my vehicle repaired in less than 48 hrs!! Good luck Gerber Collision. I have no idea how you are still in business but I will tell you MidValley Auto Body has you beat when it comes to customer service, convenience & price! Gerber Collision and Glass in Avon CO was very unresponsive to me as a potential customers and uninterested in pursing work. They may not need the work. I stopped by in April with an insurance estimate for a minor fender bender to have my car looked at but was told by the receptionist to come back the next day. The following day, Victor inspected the car and said he would check on parts and get back to me to schedule. Days passed with no response. Many many excuses were given..."waiting to hear back on parts, family emergency, out to lunch, he stepped out a bit etc... After 3 frustrating weeks of multiple followup calls and emails with no response or call backs, I gave up and went to Midvalley Auto Body, also in Avon. Their service was stellar. I am baffled by Gerber's unprofessional service and I am glad I had the insight to move on and not waste my time. read more

We live in a small valley and everybody is busy working hard. So when someone treat you and your time is insignificant, it really leaves an impression. My son was hit by a drunk driver and it totally ruined this car. We dropped it off at Gerber only for an estimate for the insurance company. It's likely totaled, Gerber told us that they would have it by middle of the week but when we called back today, I said oh no we're just too busy and it'll be the middle of next month. If they had told us that last week, then we could've made arrangements and not been waiting on them. But instead, we've been back a week and now have to start all over. At another insurance company. Thanks for not only not doing your job but thanks for making our life just a little bit worse. read more

My first experience was a small dent which I showed the owner. He first gave me a list of excuses about how his workers had health issues, back pain, numerous reasons they could not work - said the work could not be done for 2 months. Then gave me an estimate of $800 for an almost unnoticeable dent. I obviously took my business elsewhere. Then my friend had a small dent to be fixed - insurance would cover it. They took the information a full 3 weeks before they took the car in order to get parts. We dropped the car off - which they had for 10 days. We had a set pick up date and when we arrived to pick up the car, they simply said it wasn't ready, they didn't have parts, asked us if we were notified that the car wouldn't be ready. We obviously were not notified, or we would not be there to pick up the car. Ultimately, if not timely, the work they did was very good. read more

I use to recommend this shop for the service I received back in 2009 after my truck was fixed following an incident with a icy road and guardrail. No longer will I mention this business as a quality mechanic. Had some work done at the dealer in Boulder, timing belt etc. had them do a thorough check and give me a list of recommended repairs. I got a list longer than I expected. I am able to do all the work myself, but was scheduled to leave town in a few days and Lenny promised I would have the truck back Saturday afternoon when I dropped it off Friday afternoon. I was impressed with the turn around time. Well, that didn't happen. I went by Saturday to pick it up and no one was around. Called, left messages, never heard back. Monday morning I called when they opened and they told me it would be done soon. I go pick it up two days after it was supposed to be done. Turns out they broke two lug nuts taking off front tires. Took two days to get new ones?! I get things happen, but I would have thought I would get a call explaining why it wouldn't be ready when promised. They blamed Big O for over tightening lug nuts. That's why they broke. Not sure about this. I looked under truck to inspect work and noticed the nut on the brand new outer tie rods were rounded and scared. Looks like they used a pipe wrench. I asked Lenny if he thought this was ok. He looked under and said "must have had trouble tightening it." Really?! So you just destroy my new parts so that they might not ever be able to do an alignment again without replacing the tie rods I just paid for. What kind of workmanship is that? So, no call letting me know it would be an extra two days and you tear up my new parts? No apologies from anyone. Wow! I will not go back or recommend you guys again. Lenny is the man! I came up from Colorado Springs going to grand junction and I broke down right past Eisenhower tunnel. I limped it to Avon and called Lenny. Before I even got to his shop he referred me to 4 different shops because he might not be able to do the the work. None of them answered and called Lenny back. I brought it over and he trouble shot my truck. Lenny ordered parts that day and got me rolling within 24hrs. He has a great crew in the shop and helped me out beyond belief! Seriously, he's the most honest guy I've met and treated me awesome! I can really tell he takes great pride in his work and he does an awesome job! This is my 3rd review I've ever written because not many people have impressed me as much as Lenny and his shop. Without a doubt if I ever get stuck in the mountains again I'm calling Lenny!
