Stopped in for dinner. This place has been around for a long time, but it's been ages since I last visited. We were greeted and seated quickly by the hostess when we entered., it's one large open space with a bar area/dining room, and more seating upstairs. The interior is what you'd expect for a "saloon", with a very strong western feel. That being said though, with the one large open space it gets pretty loud in there, and at that point no one was being seated upstairs, so I imagine when it's full it's going to be hard to carry a conversation. They offer a pretty extensive menu, soups, salads, pizzas, tacos, burgers, seafood and much more. I decided to try the meatloaf, with mashed potatoes, and the veggie of the day, broccoli. Food came out quickly, and the portions were very impressive. The meatloaf was good, but a lot more than I could comfortably finish, so had some to take home. I've lived in Norfolk my whole life and have eaten at EBS several times since they opened in the early 80's. The food has been good on most occasions, but I can't let this one go without saying something. My daughter put in a take out order last night (9/18/25) and asked if I wanted anything. I had her order me a seafood stuffy for $9.95. A bit pricey I thought, but it sounded good. I know EBS is not necessarily known for seafood, but I figured it would be good based on past experiences. What I received was a "tiny" extremely burnt unacceptable excuse for a restaurant stuffed quahog. Please see the photos. I've had much better frozen stuffies from the supermarket. My family just returned from dinner and were so disappointed in their meals. My husband had fish & chips; the fries were lukewarm, fish was mediocre. My son had fish tacos that were " nothing special". My sons fiancé ordered haddock and broccoli. Her fish was dried out, crumb topping was a few breadcrumbs sprinkled on top, not a buttery crusted topping one would expect. She said the broccoli was so cold, she thinks it was frozen then run under water to defrost it then thrown on the plate. To elucidate her experience, after leaving she picked up an order from The Horse Restaurant down the street because her dinner at Eaglebrook was so unsatisfactory. My daughter had a chicken Caesar wrap that was ok. It was probably associated with the fact that it is inherently a cold meal. Man, I really wish I could give this a higher rating but I can't. Coming from the guy who had his wedding welcome party here when Chuck owned it. This is from someone who has gone here dozens of times, both before and after management change. Short story is that changes have resulted in higher prices and lower quality food & service. I don't think it's on all the staff, frankly they are new and to my appearance had a lot of turnover after Chuck sold last year. - Small pizzas are fine / Large pizzas still undercooked - Burgers still decent - Entrees are pretty bad. Cajun Pasta with some dry rub on the chicken, sauce was terrible and veggies were on a fryer for maybe 10 seconds. - Service... at least 3 times I ordered takeout and my side salad is missing. Fries instead of mashed potatoes, you get the idea. lots of people say the same thing. - And for a short time they tried changing the blueberry ale supplier only to get lots of feedback from the bar patrons. Sum it up, I really only go here these days because my kids love their pizza, but nothing on the menu jumps out at me anymore. Just feels like any other restaurant trying to press margins and willing to mess up the small details because it's "The Brook". Enjoy your late beer sales going forward, it isn't the same. read more

Since the ownership change the prices have gone way up and the quality of the food has gone way down. I paid $15 extra for steak tips on my salad and got Tony steak tips that weighed 5.3 oz (I weighed them). I called and the new GM said "then don't come back" and hung up on me. I worked at Eagle Brook for many years back in the 80s and have a lot of friends that still work there. I have been loyal to the Brook for many many years and considered myself one of the family. That being said I heard that it's under new management. I was concerned that the new owners would lose sight of what makes Eagle Brook... Eagle Brook. I visited tonight to pick up my usual to go order and was taken aback when they told me the price. I have always ordered a Caesar salad with steak tip and it cost around $22 for 4 large steak tips. I ordered them to go tonight and they increased the price to $28.83 for a bunch of lettuce with 4 steak tips!! One which was so small I wouldn't even count it!! The tips were great but not worth the money Conrads, who are famous for their tips charge $23 for 5 tips with 2 sides. $28.83 for a salad with 4 steak tips? Your not getting off to a good start. This place was excellent!! I've never been there before. I went with three other people and we all had pizzas. We had heard that they were one of the best in Massachusetts. I had the mashed potato pizza. Unbelievable!!! There was a garlic cream sauce, mashed potatoes all over with garlic, cheddar and chives. One of the best pizzas I've ever had. My sister had the same and my brother and sister-in-law had the Buffalo pizzas. They all agreed with me. The atmosphere was really good too. It really was like a old Saloon nice and cozy too. The waitress was excellent, I wish I could remember her name. I have been back three times in the past month and a half and have gotten the same thing every time!! I really want to try other things cuz the menu is really big and they have some really good meals. But unfortunately I think I'm stuck on the mashed potato pizza, it was that good!! What did you do? You made the food worse and increased prices, that's not how it's supposed to work! The food was edible, but the recipies for the pub food are different on mutiple items. There are new menu items that look good in the description but for more money that are mediocre at best. This may have been palatable if the drink menue without prices actually delivered, but it was just bad, 15 bucks a pop for improperly mixed watered down drinks. Pick a side pub food at reasonable price or high-end food that is on point at a high price. I like both, but you're not doing either, right! read more

Always been a five star place. Have loved and been a regular there for many years. Enjoy bringing friends and watching sports on the tvs. Over the years we have become friends with the bartenders and severs It is that friendly and nice a place. Unfortunately we are now leaving earlier and earlier to avoid the volume of the music on Monday nights. it was bad enough when we had to give up our after dinner drinks at the bar to avoid the karaoke but in the past couple of weeks they have been setting up early and blasting the music well before the 8 pm start of karaoke We love the neighborhood bar vibe and conversation on a Monday night. Went for dinner last night at 5:30 on Wednesday, December 13. I ordered steak tips well done. They came out, medium rare sent them back to the kitchen and did not see what I was eating because it was so dark at the table took them home from my dog. Went to give my dog dinner (leftovers) Thursday night go to cut into the steak and I can't even cut into it to give it to my dog. Call the manager said he was too busy to talk to me and put me to call tomorrow morning. Rice is usually undercooked. Veggies are usually undercooked. Fish (salmon) is bland and dry. The food's really bad: small portions; somehow over- and undercooked (depending on the item). I have some history here that comes into play. First visit was 10 years ago with my kids. Food was so bad I refused to ever return. Friends all raved about the place but my experience was so bad I wouldn't go back. Fast forward to 2 years ago, I was forced to go there by friends that had planned a graduation party there. On that visit I had pizza and beer which were both VERY GOOD! They were off of my no fly list and I returned last year during Covid. They were overwhelmed and understaffed so the service was almost non existent. I literally had to get my own silverware. They get a pass because of Covid. Everyone told me their steak tips were great so we got those. They were the worst steak tips I ever had. They were undercooked, no flavor and a chewy stringy mess. None of us could eat it. Manager apologized and said they had not been marinated like they unusually are. He gave me a $50 gift card to give them another shot which leads me to last night and the ONLY reason we returned. As we walked in the door we were greeted by a stench that almost turned us right around. The odor of dirty bar mats and stale beer was overwhelming on the first level. This made me hyper vigilant on their cleanliness. I understand the place is old but it needs a deep clean in the worst way. At least dust! Again, as I write this I wonder why I didn't walk. If the places I can see are that dirty, how dirty is the kitchen? Silverware was also dirty and had to be returned. For food we decided to play it safe and got pizza and the kids got chicken wings and potato skins. We had to pay extra to get bacon on the already overpriced potato skins? Otherwise it would have been a little cheese on a half potato, hardly loaded skins. The chicken fingers were actually good (probably frozen), the pizza was vey good as was the service. My beer (blueberry) was just ok. Bottom line is I will never return. If you go, stick to the pizza, but don't go if you can help it. This was my first time dining at the Eagle Brook Saloon and I wasn't sure what to expect...turned out to be a great place! We really enjoyed the comfortable and cozy rustic atmosphere. There are many TV's and it is a bit loud inside. Looks like a fun place to watch a football game and the beer selection is impressive. For food I ordered the roasted lemon chicken and my girlfriend got a small pizza with a meatball topping. Both were very tasty, especially the pizza. My chicken was moist and flavorful with a wonderfully crispy skin. I wasn't crazy about the mashed potatoes because they had a tangy taste, maybe sour cream. Will return...thanks Eagle! read more
