This is a "family owned" business. My experience with them makes me wish for a faceless corporation that cares about its future, which Eagle Air most definitely does not.
Eagle Air installed the furnace, air conditioning, and ductwork in my new home. Shortly after I bought my home, the builder switched to a different vendor. I can only guess what went on behind the scenes, but this much I know:
- The design was sloppy. Air flow to the various rooms was incredibly poorly balanced. A HVAC contractor that cared would set it up right in the first place. Two star for this.
- The entire unit was installed off level, so the condensation water ran out through the overflow. One of my neighbors had a similar issue, but this was because the primary drain was plugged with trash. You got that right: The installer left or put some trash in the primary drain. This was either an incredibly stupid, incompetent, or vengeful employee. This was a zero-star installation.
- The installers left trash in the attic. Now, one or two little paper items wouldn't bother me. But I filled a trash bag with all the stuff left around. There was even a cardboard box INSIDE one of the ducts! Zero star, again.
- The gas pipe feeding the furnace is under-sized. Now, it is technically correct, because the pipe is adequate to supply the gas, so no one technically has a case against Eagle Air for this. However, because the connector is on the smallish side, it makes a whistling noise. A good installer would put in a connector large enough to avoid this problem - and would have noticed it in the first place! It isn't that hard. Two star.
Here's where the real problem begins: Eagle Air did not fix a single one of the above problems. The builder tapped into their reserves and got Andersen to fix the tilted installation. Andersen did a great job. Then, finally, after many missed appointments - not only is Eagle Air incompetent, they are flaky - a guy showed up. Kind of scary looking, like he'd just gotten out of the pen. He looked around a little, and then when I told him about how Eagle Air had messed up the installation, he refused to do anything and walked out. I let him go because I do not want him, or anyone from Eagle Air, back on the premises.
So I am stuck with a gas furnace that whistles. I'll fix it with some Home Depot parts; dealing with Eagle Air is not remotely worth the trouble.
If you are a builder, or a homeowner, avoid these guys at all costs. They are not worth the trouble. read more
