LONG REVIEW ALERTT!!! NEVER GO THERE FOR FULL BODY WAX!…read more As the owner of an IT company with 10 years of experience in the customer-facing industry, I have never encountered such awful people and service. It's shocking that a business can operate with such a lack of empathy and professionalism. I recently had the misfortune of visiting Prayosha Downtown beauty salon for a full body wax/Brazilian wax service. I arrived an hour late, apologized, and offered to wait or reschedule, but the front desk girl, Jasmine, suggested we proceed. The service was a disaster from the start. The initial technician, Roopi, was rough and careless, causing me to bleed from a burn bruise on my right hand's finger within the first 5 minutes. When I politely asked her to be more considerate, she was defensive and unapologetic. I was shocked by her attitude and lack of empathy. After that, Roopi disappeared and never came back to explain herself or apologize for her actions. Fortunately, Arushi took over and completed the service in another 2 hours. YES, 2 Hours!! Because the drama continued as Jasmine took turns trying to justify her ever changing statements and constant door knocks interrupting Arushi to leave my service and attend other customers. Arushi did whisper to me that I shouldn't tell others that she had finished the entire body waxing may be she knew that the other staff members were trying to take advantage of me. At two instances, I was offered a partial service by Jasmine but she would constantly change her statements. I think, she needs medical help with this foggy brain. It was clear that they were not interested in providing me with the full service I had asked for. They were asking me to pay the full price but they wouldn't do the front and the back as apparently, they didn't have the time bandwidth. I offered them that I could potentially wait or comeback in an hour or two but they didn't want that either. As I later found out, the girls were scared to provide me with the service because of my dry skin. While I understand that may be a concern, it was not the only issue. The real problem was that I was being body shamed and discriminated against because of my weight. I was made to feel like I didn't deserve the service because of my size. I was appalled when I asked Jasmine if the girls were hesitant to work on me because of my weight? And she said, YES! And kept blabbering further!!! Which honestly, I didn't listen! Throughout the ordeal, I was body shamed and humiliated, and I felt like I was being treated like dirt, a burden, not a customer. The staff's lack of empathy, professionalism, and manners were appalling. As an Indian woman myself, I was particularly disappointed to see such behavior from people who claim to represent our community. It's a shame that they are perpetuating the same stereotypes and biases that we try to overcome. Am I not allowed to have beauty services just because I'm obese? I'm paying the full price, just like anyone else. It's not like I'm asking for a special treatment? It was Roopi who suggested a special treatment while rolling her eyes in disgust and I quote, " I can't do the service alone if you expect me to considerate of your body (she meant flabby excess fat), I would need another girl to help out." To make matters worse, I started bleeding from a wound that I had, which the careless technician, Roopi had ignored and ripped off. It was a painful and traumatic experience. Eventually, I spoke to the owner, Kumud, who was 300 Kms away, she heard me but had a different story to share. Maybe her employees lied to her to cover for themselves. At least she was understanding and spoke in a professional way. In the end, I still ended up paying the full price of $89 for the service, despite the horrific experience and crying at the salon premises!! I want to warn others: beware of Prayosha Downtown beauty salon. The staff's behavior is unacceptable and is a reflection of the worst of Indian society from RURAL INDIA. Their body shaming and discrimination towards customers is a shame!!! It's a shame that they are bringing Indian community down with their ignorance and lack of empathy.

I made an appointment for a shellac pedicure and a gel manicure with extensions. Appointment for 12 and I left at 2:30. Tina was so meticulous and detailed - just what I love! She made sure my nails were perfect in shape, length, and polish application. The pedicure included a 5 min foot and leg massage which was soo good! Tina recommended the dipping powder mani which I never had before - so I decided to try it because I was told it's less damaging on the nail bed. Was I ever surprised! They use clear gel tips and the dipping powder was applied twice, and then the shellac polish on top. They feel secure and strong but not bulky or thick at all - I am so pleased. My mani was funny bunny for the base and I asked for a slight curve French tip. My pedi was just white ! Great experience.

The water was never changed once, not even after scrubbing and using soap. The soap and lotion they used smell interesting to me. The polish seems old and almost dried out, it was very thick and unevenly applied on my nails. Looked very unprofessional. After I came home, I had to remove it and take a shower. The whole experience was not pleasant and somewhat felt rushed not relaxing. If you call them, be patient with the receptionist, very difficult communicating with her.

The machine only had solution that came out of one half of the machine. I brought it to the attention of the staff member who was working who advised to contact her once I showered to let her know if it developed ok. I contacted her the next day when I got out of the shower to find one side of my body tanned and the other with no colour at all. I sent her pictures and she advised that she would get back to me after speaking with the owner. By the time I heard back I was already on the plane so she left a voicemail telling me that I would have a free spray tan on my account for whenever I needed it. Fast forward to today when I attempted to use said tan. The manager was a complete bitch right from the get go and gave me attitude refusing to go out the tan. She then called the owner who also refused to allow me to use the tan even though I still have the voicemail to confirm the situation. I had been more than willing to pay for the tan if there was an issue when I first walked in but after the disgusting attitude I just walked out and will be going else where. The salon is filthy and dated. Staff are rude and nasty. For a business that never seems to have anyone in there they sure don't seem to appreciate the customers they actually have walking thru the door. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere

Crystal followed my instructions really well, offered numbing gel (though I didn't take her up on it), and made nice conversation to distract me from discomfort. She was thorough, did a lot in 30 minutes, and was really friendly. The place was clean, parking was easy, and a 30 minute session was totally affordable. If you're looking to get electrolysis done in North York I would absolutely recommend Crystal at Hairender based on my experience so far.

I've been going to Hairender for electrolysis treatments on my upper lip for a few months, and I am…read moreextremely happy with every aspect of my treatment. First of all, the results have been amazing. Every time I see regrowth, there are fewer and fewer hairs. The process really works. I'm looking forward to having a totally hair-free upper lip! The standards of hygiene and cleanliness are obviously very high, and the office is a pleasant environment, with what seems to me to be very advanced equipment. They use a kind of magnifying scope thing so they can really focus in on each hair. The price is very reasonable. I had always assumed that electrolysis was very expensive, but that's not the case. They were able to tell me the price per session over the phone before I came for my initial assessment, and have been very upfront about how many sessions I'm likely to need as my treatment has progressed. As someone on a student budget, I really appreciate that. The electrologist I see, Caren, is unbelievably kind and friendly (she's so great, I actually look forward to my treatments!), and incredibly skilled. She gets every single hair, and even though I have a really low pain threshold, she manages to make the process as comfortable as possible. It's really not painful, it just stings a tiny bit. I would recommend Hairender to anyone and everyone who struggles with unwanted hair. I used to have to wax my upper lip really frequently, and I would have to pluck my regrowth literally every day, and even then, the new hairs would often be visible under the surface of my skin. Electrolysis is freeing me from that burden, and really improving my appearance. I am so happy that I chose Hairender!
