I've had CiCi and Ava who did a good job, especially when I agreed for them to walk on my back, it really helped! Although I went with a friend who had the opposite experience. She was in a room directly infront of the reception counter, so her massager decided to leave the door half open so she could talk to the receptionist while she worked....taking away from the relaxing experience all together, and removing the privacy factor... If I could give 0 stars, I wish I could. I just finished what was supposed to be an hour long massage but I cut it down to 30 mins. Before I came, I checked the reviews and it was promising but this was the WORST massage experience I've ever had. She came in 3 times to ask if I was ready when I got into the massage room, and then the whole 30 minutes after that consisted of her and her other coworkers yelling through the walls to talk to each other. Not a single sound of music, I was more stressed out in there than before I walked in. I even heard the microwave being used, that's how thin the walls were! After I cut my massage short, when the girl left, not even 1 minute later, another girl bangs on the door and says "excuse me, u done, I need the room!!" The worst is when the front desk lady demanded for tip for my lady when I came out, and I told her what makes you think you deserve a tip when everyone is screaming to each other from their massage rooms with CLIENTS in there and having full on conversations? A nice well developed massage spot. Neat and clean with good massage tables and chairs. The masseuses did a good job. They also walked on my back and offered cupping. I heard cupping is an extra charge so I declined. I'm not sure if she would have done it without extra charge. The only problem was there was a lot of talking outside the room, and when the two masseuses were beside each other in the double room with the door open between the two rooms, they were chatting away the whole time. This made it hard to relax. Customers shouldn't have to deal with a lot of talkin by the staff, but I've seen cross-talking at many Chinese masseuse places. You just need to tell them ahead of time "no talking please". Other than that, excellent prices. Pay in cash and save on tax. If you want to get a new back, I mean literally, this is place to go to. I called in on a Wednesday to make an appointment for Saturday. A lady answered the phone and she was very nice. I was able to book a couples massage at noon on a Saturday. We arrived a few mins early and the place was open 5 minutes to 12. As we walked in, we were greeted and asked if we had an appointment. I wasn't feeling well and they offered cupping as part of the service. I agreed to do it ($30 extra). OH MY! I had Cici as my RMT. The massage was painful but I felt relief and good afterwards. She asked me if the pressure was okay multuple times and if I needed tissue (cause I had runny nose). She was very friendly. She stood on my back and cracked my bones (with a warning). She did a great job and I feel it. It was my first time cupping and it wasn't painful. You feel the heat for a second and it goes away. I felt like it helped with how I was feeling but that's just me. Although, they did a great job with the service, the environment is a bit loud. Staff were talking to one another and you can hear them. During my massage, the staff were talking to each other. I didn't mind it as much but it would be nice if it was more peaceful or quiet. The room is not too dimmed unlike other places. For insurance, you have to pay on the spot and claim it yourself (either online submission or however your insurance policy works). The prices are a bit lower compared to other places if you claim through insurance. I would recommend this place if you don't mind the noise but want to be reborn with a new set of muscles and aligned bones. read more

I enjoy how they were not afraid to be rough and really hit some spots that were bothering me. Great idea for a last minute. No frills just straight to business. I tried to book an appointment for a foot massage earlier today. I called and some girl with some attitude answered the call. She attempted in her broken English trying to upsell me on getting a full body massage, which I declined. I could tell from the call she was overly disappointed. I got to my appointment, girl at the front desk, headphones on, staring at their phone/Ipad watching their shows. Not even a greeting until I rang the bell. Pretty ridiculous, but whatever. Standard appetizers and bottled water available. I get to find out from my massuese with my poor Chinese, that the front desk girl's name is Cici, thinks highly of herself and acts like the owner of the spa while the real owners are away. Apparently some sort of power struggle going on, and alot of trash talking from the colleagues about this girl. Again, I was there for a relaxing foot massage, but I end up having to hear about them talking behind the thin walls about how the owners dont care and let this girl run while with their business. I end up hearing that Cici is actually one of the masseuse that works there, but only works on exclusive clients (makes me think this place might not be totally legit) Anyways, the foot massage was alright, nothing special. I was here a few years ago, and thought it was pretty good. Looks like its going downhill from here. Plenty of other spots in Scarborough. read more

Definitely a gem in the Markham area. Found this on Yelp and was so happy to try it with my friends! Going in, the place looked small, but it was clean. I arrived a little early, and was given a room to sit and wait. I chose to do a foot massage as my first time and my friends did body. After bringing my friends to a separate room, the lady from the front desk came to ask if I would like anything to drink such as water or tea. Later when she returned with my drink, she asked if I would like the tv turned on and did so for me. It was a very kind gesture, shortly after my masseuse, Ci Ci arrived with a wooden bucket of hot water. She waited till I put my feet in and asked if the temperature was okay, it was slightly too hot and so she went to grab me some cold water to bring down the temperature. After 3-5 minutes of soaking, Ci Ci returned with some dry towels and began my massage. It has been a while since I've gotten a foot massage, so it was definitely painful. Every time it hurt too much, she would see it in my face and pause for a bit then go back at that spot again. Which I really appreciate because if thats where I need help, avoiding it or going soft on it would not benefit me in any way. I enjoyed my massage with Ci Ci, she was very friendly and professional. She has recommended me to try cupping which is exactly what I think I will do the next time I return. My friends gave similar feedback about their masseuses, they enjoyed their massage. The price was GREAT! For 1 hour, its either $52 or $75 if you claim insurance. Will try cupping when I return! Second best massage place in town. They have heated bed and give great massage. The environment is fine but sometimes it's really noisy because the massage therapist talk really loud to each other. It's annoying that you can hear them talk when you just want to chill. Sometimes they even talk to each other while giving you a massage. Your experience here really depends on who is your massage therapist. After coming here a few times I only come when Maggie is here. Most of them give the same massage but it's important to find someone that can give you a great massage and doesn't talk. Or even they she talks she can still give you a great massage. My first experience at Royal Zone was definitely positive! I went with two friends - two of us tried the body massage, whereas the other one tried a foot massage for an hour. The place itself was very simple but clean, and the lady at the front was able to communicate with us in English. The massage rooms had sliding doors so if you wanted to get a massage experience with a friend or a significant other, you could simply just open up the door! My masseuse was Amy and my friend who also got the body massage with me was Ella - both of them did an amazing job on our bodies! They were very receptive and always asked us if their pressure was suitable to our liking; they also listen to your feedback, so if you want them to focus on certain areas, don't be afraid to speak up! My friend who did a foot massage also reported having a good experience and it's definitely something I would try in the future as well. The only downsides of this place, as people have mentioned are the thin walls and limited English speaking capabilities of the masseuses. Came in for a massage because a friend recommended this place. It's the type of massage where they step on your back using poles on the ceiling to hold themselves up, because of this, the pressure they exert is pretty high. You can ask them to use their hands I would assume - that's if the pressure was too much. The women who did my massage constantly asked if the pressure was ok or too much - I appreciated this because I found some other places don't bother. I've been going Comfort Zone (Warden/Steeles) the last few years and I'd have to say, I was absolutely impressed w/ the service I received at Royal Zone and glad I found this place off Yelp as there are plenty questionable Asian owned massage places in Scarborough. It may have been that it was mid afternoon, but they were able to accommodate me as a walk-in. The receptionist(s) were very welcoming and friendly, so was my masseuse Susan. They offered me tea and fruits to have as a snack as I settled in and asked if I wanted the TV on. I can take a lot of pressure and Susan was able to do just that. Even with the language barrier she was still smiley, not making me feel like I'm troubling her with any requests. I like that this place has an option of 15-135 mins of massage. They offer foot/body combos, a VIP package of $280 (cash only) and insurance receipts. They are open until midnight. Edit: Attempted to come here after work around 11 PM to find them closed. It's OK. I've tried this massage place yesterday from a friend's recommendation. The girls were really nice and they have great customer service. The walls are too thin because you can hear their loud laughters from the kitchen when you are trying to relax and just zone out while being massaged. Washroom is clean. I saw that they also have an available shower for customers to use. I tried an hour and a half of the massage. This is the first time I've had someone step on my whole back for massage. I wish the communication was there because I wasn't expecting this. LOOOOL I was scared as shit. In my head, I was like: Please don't break my back. The girl who provided me treatment was petite and maybe less than a hundred pounds so it was okay. I just wish she asked permission first or advised me that she will be putting her whole weight on me for deep tissue massage. I like their hours because they provide service after 6pm. Found this place online read the reviews and decided to check it out. I called on the phone and made an appointment walked in the guy greeted me and ask if I was he one that just called I said yes and he said room one. Went into room one he offered fruit and tea I accepted. The news was on I ask for he tv volume to be turned down and they did. The lady came in and started the massage (foot massage)...no one ask me how long I wanted. The light was very bright I ask her if she could turn the light down she said no someone in the other room is using it ok then!!.... Then the person in the next room turned the tv loud and it was in their language smh so much for relaxing. When I thought it couldn't get any worst she started a full on conversation with the person in the next room behind the curtain. I have been getting feet massage for years in many different cities and countries it's like my go to thing when I'm having a stressful day and it always works except today... I never experience anything like this before I'm literally sitting here writing the review while she's still having a full on conversation in her language during my massage. When I was done I paid and the lady behind the desk said tip is extra don't you want to tip her I said no. This really bothered me because I am a huge tipper especially when I get good service but this was just not a good experience. I am not writing this review to tell people not to go here I'm just sharing my experience and hope that the owner reads this and adjust these issues so other customers won't have to experience what I did.....
