Hairender left me permanently scarred with uneven eye brows that are much too thin and sparse. Horrible experience.

It's not easy for a guy to submit to hair removal procedures in sensitive areas…read more It's not easy for a guy to call a SPA or salon to ask if they do "Brazilian for men". It is not easy, especially that, until recently, almost none of these businesses clearly advertised such a service. A nudist for many years, I had to suffer shaving around my penis and testicles when a smooth down-under became fashionable in nudist villages, resorts, hotels, beaches, etc. The culture of "waxing and sugaring are a woman thing" no longer holds water. True, still very few women beauticians are brave enough to invade man's private parts for the purpose of man-scaping, but some younger generation of beauticians don't subscribe to that stigma. One such ladies, a unique lady in her field in my opinion, is R i t a . A young woman who really loves what she does, Rita has no hang-ups when it comes to dealing with men's genitalia. She treats those private parts as you would other members of the body: hands, shoulders, ears, etc. And, more importantly and rightfully so, she is proud of her results. I've been having my back, shoulders, underarms and Brazilian waxed regularly as I travel a lot, mainly to naturist establishments. The woman who waxed me was super professional, loved her work, and did a great job. But I found myself always trying to space out the treatment sessions. Now I know why: the pain of waxing. Waxing in some areas of the body feels like torture. Thankfully, once upon a time, a couple of months ago, my travel plans changed, and I needed to wax on a Monday and fly out on Tuesday. I discovered that my wonderful waxer didn't work on Mondays. I had no choice but to surf the web, in search of someone that inspires trust and who works on Monday. I talked to a couple of hair removal experts. The one I felt most comfortable with on the phone was Rita. And the rest is history. She doesn't use wax. She uses sugar. Here is what I discovered I was missing during all these years of shaving, then waxing: 1. The pain factor is almost non-existent with sugar compared to waxing. 2. Rita's the kind of person you enjoy speaking with, even when you're lying down naked, and she's applying hot paste on the most sensitive body parts. 3. She took away from me that "should I go do it today?" or "maybe next week" feeling, that I always had when I took a waxing appointment. 4. I now feel this is "a break that I need once a month; it's good for me", rather than the "it's a necessary painful evil" of waxing. 5. I can go anywhere right after I'm done, because I don't feel sticky like after waxing, and definitely my scrotum is not bleeding in my pants as it almost always did after waxing. For me, there's no looking back. I found the perfect set-up for my hair removal needs.

I saw Rita for the first time yesterday and it was far better than what I had expected. Sugar is almost painless compared to waxing, especially on the dangly bits! Rita is very good at what she does, takes the time to explain everything and answer questions, making you feel comfortable and at ease. She also has a great sense of humour. I will definitely be a repeat customer and highly recommend her service.

I had never gotten a Brazilian wax before, nor sugaring of any kind. I was convinced to try it…read moreafter reading and hearing the pros of sugaring. I stumbled upon Sugar Me Spa on Google and read some mixed reviews, but decided to give this place a try anyways. I booked my first Brazilian sugar appointment through their online booking service in April 2019 at the RH location. Jasmyne was my aesthetician, she made me feel comfortable and walked me through the process of my service. I left not knowing what the results should look and feel like, but now that I've gotten a bunch of Brazilian sugars done (with another business), I can confirm that my experience with Sugar Me Spa was not great. I still had a lot of hair that hadn't been "pulled" out by the sugar, but I thought that's how Brazilian waxes were as it was my first time receiving one. It looked like I had shaved quickly and didn't bother to go over a second time to get all the remaining hairs. It didn't bother me as I trusted the process and was planning to book with Sugar Me Spa again once time came. Their online booking was extremely inaccurate in regards to the times and/or dates available for services. I booked my second appointment, only to be texted that the establishment was closed during the time slot I had chosen and I had reschedule. I wasn't able to reschedule, so I cancelled it instead. I booked another appointment 1 month later (with Jasmyne as I already dealt with her my first time around), through the same online system. I received another text a week before my appointment stating Jasmyne was not working during the date and time I had chosen. I was offered different dates and times to reschedule, however, time was too tight to reschedule. I asked if another aesthetician could provide the service, to no avail. I rescheduled my appointment 1 month later (with Jasmyne) in August 2019, only to be texted that Jasmyne couldn't make it to work and was asked to reschedule again... Overall, over a span of 4 months, I went once with mediocre results. Their appointment booking service is extremely hectic and inconsistent.

Jasmine took the upmost care in what she was doing and my service lasted at most 10 minutes. The results are amazing...much better than waxing. The place is very clean, bright and inviting. I highly recommend Sugar Me Spa. The only reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the inability to pay with card and that it took a bit to find as it is inside the natural health storefront while I was looking for signage for Sugar Me Spa.

However with the great reviews I was reading on this place I wanted to check it out. Can I just say you definitely need to be patient when going to this location. The parking lot is crazy small.. I was lucky enough to wait a few minutes and get a spot! I walked in (with a thought of being turned down because they were busy *side note yes I had a back up plan) and asked for a refill. The manager just kinda looked at me and then looked through his books and I was fortunate enough, he said I could have a seat (reluctantly). The establishment is small , to me everything just seems really cramped in one. There were a lot of client service staff to accommodate every seat in that place which was really good. I had a woman (she was blonde) and didn't introduce herself. However the work she did with my nails was beautiful. she was extremely precise which I thoroughly enjoy. I chose the colour that she was wearing because I couldn't spot it out in the selection. Bio-Gel Refill - $40 cash ($45 if you use card) Mr. Manager asked me if it was my first time and i replied yes, he then informed me to next time make an appointment because they are an appointment only nail salon. Which is fine if I lived near here and this was my nail salon. However I have a nail salon but I just did not want to head up then back down for what I needed to do. I do promise, if I ever break a nail I will call first. haha.

LONG REVIEW ALERTT!!! NEVER GO THERE FOR FULL BODY WAX!…read more As the owner of an IT company with 10 years of experience in the customer-facing industry, I have never encountered such awful people and service. It's shocking that a business can operate with such a lack of empathy and professionalism. I recently had the misfortune of visiting Prayosha Downtown beauty salon for a full body wax/Brazilian wax service. I arrived an hour late, apologized, and offered to wait or reschedule, but the front desk girl, Jasmine, suggested we proceed. The service was a disaster from the start. The initial technician, Roopi, was rough and careless, causing me to bleed from a burn bruise on my right hand's finger within the first 5 minutes. When I politely asked her to be more considerate, she was defensive and unapologetic. I was shocked by her attitude and lack of empathy. After that, Roopi disappeared and never came back to explain herself or apologize for her actions. Fortunately, Arushi took over and completed the service in another 2 hours. YES, 2 Hours!! Because the drama continued as Jasmine took turns trying to justify her ever changing statements and constant door knocks interrupting Arushi to leave my service and attend other customers. Arushi did whisper to me that I shouldn't tell others that she had finished the entire body waxing may be she knew that the other staff members were trying to take advantage of me. At two instances, I was offered a partial service by Jasmine but she would constantly change her statements. I think, she needs medical help with this foggy brain. It was clear that they were not interested in providing me with the full service I had asked for. They were asking me to pay the full price but they wouldn't do the front and the back as apparently, they didn't have the time bandwidth. I offered them that I could potentially wait or comeback in an hour or two but they didn't want that either. As I later found out, the girls were scared to provide me with the service because of my dry skin. While I understand that may be a concern, it was not the only issue. The real problem was that I was being body shamed and discriminated against because of my weight. I was made to feel like I didn't deserve the service because of my size. I was appalled when I asked Jasmine if the girls were hesitant to work on me because of my weight? And she said, YES! And kept blabbering further!!! Which honestly, I didn't listen! Throughout the ordeal, I was body shamed and humiliated, and I felt like I was being treated like dirt, a burden, not a customer. The staff's lack of empathy, professionalism, and manners were appalling. As an Indian woman myself, I was particularly disappointed to see such behavior from people who claim to represent our community. It's a shame that they are perpetuating the same stereotypes and biases that we try to overcome. Am I not allowed to have beauty services just because I'm obese? I'm paying the full price, just like anyone else. It's not like I'm asking for a special treatment? It was Roopi who suggested a special treatment while rolling her eyes in disgust and I quote, " I can't do the service alone if you expect me to considerate of your body (she meant flabby excess fat), I would need another girl to help out." To make matters worse, I started bleeding from a wound that I had, which the careless technician, Roopi had ignored and ripped off. It was a painful and traumatic experience. Eventually, I spoke to the owner, Kumud, who was 300 Kms away, she heard me but had a different story to share. Maybe her employees lied to her to cover for themselves. At least she was understanding and spoke in a professional way. In the end, I still ended up paying the full price of $89 for the service, despite the horrific experience and crying at the salon premises!! I want to warn others: beware of Prayosha Downtown beauty salon. The staff's behavior is unacceptable and is a reflection of the worst of Indian society from RURAL INDIA. Their body shaming and discrimination towards customers is a shame!!! It's a shame that they are bringing Indian community down with their ignorance and lack of empathy.
