Yi was amazing! He was able to squeeze me in last minute before a wedding I was attending, and made my hair look amazing before the event. I asked him to do a light balayage and short haircut, and he made sure I was comfortable with the color and length each step of the way. Would highly recommend him!! read more

I booked online, received an email confirmation. I show up and the studio is closed. I emailed no response. I called number just rings and rings. Called a second number and goes straight to voicemail without opportunity to leave message. I arrived 15 minutes early and waited in the freezing cold and wind. A courtesy call or email that the owner would not show up to my scheduled appointment would have been appreciated!!! read more

So glad I found this place! I popped in for an unplanned cut and color consultation and was warmly welcomed by Yi, the salon owner. He took his time with me and asked questions and made suggestions. He seems to care deeply that his clients are satisfied. I made an appt for a couple days later and Yi brought life back to my stringy flat hair. The salon is so cute and well thought out. I'll be back :) read more

E Hair Studio - Fresh Hair Cut - Hair Salons Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Recently I came across Yi's new salon that recently opened up on 4th Avenue in Brooklyn. I decided to wander in and ended up speaking with Yi awhile about hair, and felt that this is a hair stylist who truly loves his job, has passion to make his clients leave his salon feeling and looking fabulous and listens to what his clients like. I decided to book a blow dry for the very next day. From arrival to the end of the appointment - everything was wonderful. From the start with a wash and a relaxing head massage to the blow dry itself where Yi took extra care to be gentle with my double processed hair and to be detail oriented on each wave and curl that was placed. I certainly did leave Yi and his salon feeling fabulous and like I can take on the world, or we'll at least take on Friday night. It's now Sunday and my waves are still looking full and beautiful. A few more details: The Playlist is a perfect mix of genres that fit well with the salons eclectic and modern feel. I felt like I was home. I'll definitely return! read more

Wowowow! As soon as I got home I needed to write this review. Yi is truly amazing. Such a sweet soul. I went in for a consultation and I left knowing I'd be in good hands. I wanted to completely change my look with something a little more bold and went for pink. He absolutely killed it! I left most the creativity to him and he absolutely blew me away with the finished look. I'm so happy and I will definitely be back to see him. The neighborhood needed someone like him truly. read more

Yi has been the only person I have trusted with my hair for the past 6 years. It was clear from the beginning that hair styling is not just a job for him; it is his craft and his passion. I am stunned with the outcome every time and have never received more compliments than with him. Yi goes the extra mile to ensure every last detail is accounted for; his professionalism is unmatched. Do not hesitate to book your next appointment with him--choosing Yi those many years ago was one of the best decisions I made for not only my hair, but truly, my style as a whole. Thanks for everything, Yi! read more

Yi took my over-processed, damaged bleached hair and transformed it into a silky beautifully blended dark blonde wavy crown. I don't know how he fixed my hair so beautifully, but all I can say is I would literally trust Yi to do anything with my hair. He listened to what I wanted during the consultation, and took the time to truly understand my vision and my needs, and fixed my hair! It used to be a fried mess, and now I love seeing it in the mirror! Thanks, Yi! read more

Yi and I met somewhat "accidentally" as I was passing by his hair salon. It was striking how beautifully decorated his salon's window was. The first thing I know is Yi welcoming me into his space. He was attentive and kind throughout our chat, which landed in a way that made me want to come back. Once I was ready to change my look, Yi consulted me on some options I have to color my hair. He encouraged me not to rush in making decisions. This way of relating to prospective clients is unique in the sense that Yi saw me first as a person, and then as a client - that doesn't happen too often in a busy NYC... He did full head highlights and used the exact toner I wanted. In the end, I felt happy with the result. My clients have noticed the change too, so I received quite a few compliments this week :) I look forward be coming back and would encourage whoever is reading this to consider trusting Yi with your hair too! read more

He does an amazing job and is a really great guy to talk to - I feel lucky to have found him :) highly suggest this place for color and cut! Love my hair and will be returning. read more

What a gem in Brooklyn! I'm incredibly picky about who cuts my hair since I've had some poor experiences in the past, and I have very long and thick hair. I had such a good experience here. The salon is beautiful, the prices are very competitive for the neighborhood and Yi is so lovely. He took the time to make sure my cut was perfect. Definitely one of the top cuts I've received. I would definitely recommend and I'll be back! read more

for picture references from my previous review.. my hair turned orange when i went to curl it about a week later. I wasn't going to post a picture but i noticed yi was dishonest in his reply to me. i've never been so dissatisfied and disgusted with how this was handled. Also, you can see all of the darkness that was left in my roots- i did not pay $500 to be left with inches of dark roots! horrible! i can't believe nothing has been done to fix my experience since. read more

When you leave E Hair Studio the haircut you hoped for will be even better than you imagined.

Where do I even begin?! Too many good things so I'll go for bullets: -Precise: When I first went to Yi in 2019, I booked a balayage session and showed him a picture of an ashy blonde I wanted. Balayage wouldn't get me to ashy blonde, he told me. He patiently explained how my hair had warm midtones so I'd be better off bleaching light and toning down, potentially with a shadow root to blend the roots. I was skeptical but needless to say, he was right. Yi carefully cuts through the latest hair buzzwords to make sure he's giving you the look you want. -Thoughtful & strategic: Yi makes sure he understands your long term goals. This past winter I wanted to take a break from frequent coloring given COVID precautions and my wallet post-move. He perfectly melted my highlights towards my natural hair color so I ended up with a soft ombré **4 months** after!! (Pictured) For my latest color (also pictured), he lightened it up beautifully while also keeping in mind that I part it in the middle, to the side, and wear it back--it looks blended from any angle. (None of those ridiculous "money pieces" that look chunky and disconnected from the root mere weeks later.) Safety-minded: Yi provided private service with meticulous mask wearing throughout the pandemic. I can't imagine having gone anywhere else. Excellent vibe: Yi always welcomes you warmly to his beautifully decorated home and studio and offers you complimentary coffee, water, or tea. I've even worked on my laptop while waiting for my color. OVERALL: Yi cares so much about the customer experience and it shows. Getting hair done with him is a relaxing treat! read more

E Hair Studio - 4-month grow out (!!) v brand new color for spring :) - Hair Salons Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I came to Yi for a quick haircut, and he did an amazing job! He was responsive and was able to book me on short notice. His studio is calm and non intimidating, and I was really excited to find a small, local salon nearby. My haircut was fairly straightforward, but he was thorough and left my hair feeling light, bouncy, and with tons of volume (which is not a small task as my hair is on the thinner side). I'll definitely be returning when it's time for a highlights update, and highly recommend Yi and his studio!! read more

I have been a client of Yi's for years now, and I always trust him to make my hair look good. I'm semi obsessed with Yi. Yi has been cutting my whole family's hair for over 10 years. I could not be more thrilled that he has his own beautiful studio now. Yi takes the time to know you and what you want. Even if mistakes happen (which is extremely rare with him) he always finds a way to hear you and make it right. No matter what I've always ended up with what I wanted my hair to look like. Not to mention he's the only hair dresser my son and husband will trust as well. He's just fantastic for every one. I could not recommend him more. read more

Yi is amazing! My hair hadn't been styled or coloured for a long time because of the lockdowns in Canada (I am a Canadian citizen living in New York) and I was feeling so self conscious about my hair that I'd taken to wearing hats everywhere I went - NOT a good look! Yi spent so much time and energy on me. Coming from Toronto, I'm used to hairstylists who simply aren't able to devote the time and attention to their individual clients. It seems nowadays that it's all about the money, but Yi is different - he is a true artist with a passion for hair and a devotion to his craft. And he's got a great sense of humour (and fashion!) on top of that! He made me feel so important, and my hair has truly never looked so good. And I am BRIGHT blonde, so that's no easy task. Yi, thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me back my confidence. If you are considering getting your hair done, look no further than 360 Hair Arts by Yi. You will not regret it! read more

A welcome addition to the neighborhood. I walked by Yi's recently opened studio at the time when I was in dire need of a haircut. Yi is friendly and takes the time to learn what you are looking for. His passion for hair styling really shows with bringing to life what you are looking for. I have long straight hair and we cut probably 7 inches off to freshen up my hair with some layers to make it manageable to do on my own, as I do not have the time to do much to my hair. The style came out perfect, exactly what I wanted. Thank you Yi, very happy with your services! read more
