The bar and full tap of beer
TJ S.

I probably would not have found this place, if it weren't for a wake to attend in Agawam. If you have an occation to go to Six Flags, then this may be a good place to come for dinner. It is a bit out of the way, but not that far from the highways. At any rate, a great surprise and great find. My friend from college knows the owner since they were 10 years old! At any rate, they have a wide variety of Italian and American dishes. About a dozen craft beer on tap and additional standard run-of-the-mill Buds, if that is more of your speed. I ordered a chicken marsala over ziti for my main dish. It comes with mixed greens. Appetizers - more chicken! Sriracha buffalo wings and Old Bay seasoning wings - both done to perfection and moist inside. Apparently, chickens are what you have there at EB's, as recommended by my local boy. The marsala sauce had just the right balance of marsala - not too skimpy or too overwhelming. The chicken breast were tenter and moist. The sliced mushrooms were perfectly done - at least for me - not too soft, yet cooked enough to bring out the full mushroom flavor. The ziti was a little too soft for my own personal taste, but my fault for not telling the server to be "al dente." Thea atmosphere is casual. There is a lard bar as you walk in. At first, I was not sure if this place was a bar with small sitting area, or a restaurant that has a large bar. It is the latter. But I guess the local guests like to sit at the bar, as I witnessed that most of the guests seem to do here. I guess the other recommended items are grinders. I will have to make a trek back to this place in the summer to try out their famous grinders.

Fish & Chips Dinner

A hidden gem in Agawam. We kinda was driving by decided where to get lunch. Was very happy we stop in. My husband and I ordered fish and chip and chicken franchise. Everything was so good and the portion was huge we actually had leftovers and the price so reasonable . We also had a nice server, very attentive. Definitely give EB's Restaurant a try. They have all kind of specials on certain days. This restaurant is for sure on our list.

Here's the new bar.

Local institution. Some of the best wings around. Especially love their crispy Buffalo chicken salad.

Main Street Deli is a great find in Agawam, there aren't very many chain restaurants in the area…read morewhich I like, and this is one of the better local restaurants I have come across. The food items are classic deli style meals but still tasty all the same. The menu is pretty big and I think most people would be able to find something they will like. They also have daily specials to pick from as well. My families favorite here is their Reuben sandwich, each time I come here at least one person orders it. I haven't tried a ton of things on the menu myself, but the things I did try were very good. I will say however, I don't think their Chicken Caesar Salad is worth the price for what you get, it's $10 dollars and you get a plate full of lettuce and only a few pieces of grilled chicken. If I would make any recommendation to the owner it would be to change this. Otherwise, the staff, menu, decorations, seating, cleanliness, and outdoor appearance and seating is all very pleasant and wouldn't need changing.

My only problem with my visit to the Main Street deli was the woman who took our order. I've been…read morein there before, and she is never very friendly. I asked her about their new menu and she just pointed above her to show me where the menu was on the wall behind her. I was looking for some advice or description and I did not get that. I would like to tell her that a few genuine smiles would be nice and a kinder gentler approach to customers asking questions. The food was good and reasonably priced but I will probably not be going back there anytime soon. Kindness matters!!

We were exhausted and starving after a long Mother's Day at Six Flags New England and looking for…read moresomething better than fast food near the park. This place came up and I was surprised we'd never seen it before in all our trips. Being seafood lovers, we had to try it out. It was packed, which was understandable for Mother's Day. And very noisy! The service was exceptionally slow, which we also understood! Figured this had to be a hidden gem. My son ordered the lobster grilled cheese and loved it! The boom boom shrimp app was amazing. I had the stuffed founder and it was pretty good, but a bit dry. I should have chosen one of my go-to dishes like a lobster roll or salmon. Anyway, we've decided we definitely want to give it another try as Mother's Day is not the best way to try a restaurant for the first time. The scenery was a lot of fun and it gave our whole trip that special vacation vibe we look for! In spite of the Mother's Day glitches, would recommend!

We decided to go up to Kaptain Jimmy's in Agawam mass for dinner this evening. It's Friday night…read more It was warm and a beautiful evening and it was not a long drive up there so it was a good opportunity to try a new place. Jimmy's has an extensive menu of seafood, burgers, steak, salads, giant shakes and all manner of things they could please almost any palate. We started with a basket of bread that was reminiscent of anadama bread served with whipped butter that was unbelievably delicious. I ordered whole belly fried clams with fries for an appetizer so that I could try the fried clams. These clams were fried perfectly in crumbs and were sweet and very good. My wife had the classic Jimmy's burger with cheese and bacon and fries, and ordered one of their shakes so that we could each take a taste and see what both were like. The burger was cooked a beautiful medium rare, served with a smoked bacon that was fantastic. The shakes are gigantic. We ordered a mocha shake that came topped with a mountain of whipped cream. Sweet, thick and creamy if it was worth every bit of the eight dollars you pay to get one. I ordered a lobster roll, but not the one they serve on the menu. I'm absolutely a lobster roll snob because I'm from Maine where we invented lobster rolls. The Jimmy's lobster roll is served with melted cheese, lettuce, and tomato - not legal anywhere I am aware of. I asked for and was served a lobster roll of cold lobster, served on a grilled bun with mayo on the side - just as God intended. The bun that this lobster roll was served on was nothing short of spectacular. I would've taken a dozen of them home. It was reminiscent of a French baguette with just the right crunch on the outside and a soft center filled with beautiful lobster meat, and just a hint of mayonnaise. Right on point. Our server was excellent and received a 20% gratuity for her service. We will definitely come back because the food is very good and there is such a tremendous selection of different things to eat that we have to come back and try something else the next time. All in, $91 for two. The fried clams alone were $27.
