We ordered queso with chili and it was $6. What arrived was a very small bowl the size of a sauce dish. One thing I did not really like was that when our meal was finished, our waitress just showed up with a handheld with a total and tip already added in. I know some places do this for large groups but there was only 4 of us. The total was $90 for three entries, two margaritas, a queso, a coffee and four waters. No iced teas or sodas. Seemed excessive but the way they just bring a handheld with a total, it's impossible to check what is on your check and how much each item was.

Service is always great, even if they are busy. Once in a while, a mariachi band will be playing for the customers, and this can be a tad loud. I personally prefer dining in when they are not playing due to the loud noise is a trigger for my TBI. However, many absolutely enjoy the show. They also offer a couple of tables out front if you'd like to dine outside. Definitely a MUST for anyone driving thru town to try. Our favorite for sure!

Came in for a quick late Sunday lunch and had a great meal with tons of overordering. Its a very…read moresmall spot that is essentially a converted house so it feels homey and quaint. As we walked in, we were greeted by who I assume is the owner and she let us know there was a free table next to her. Our waitress was super friendly and gave us chips and salsa shortly after being sat. The chips and salsa were excellent and I, as usual, ate too much. The salsa had a good spice and great flavor and the chips were very crunchy and crispy (like fritos but airier). I ordered a small menudo and chilaquiles with green salsa and both were really good. The menudo had a ton of flavor, good spices, and the stomach pieces were cooked perfectly; super tender and no, sometimes off putting, lingering offal smells. The chilaquiles were also great and the green salsa was mild and refreshing, with excellent side of potatos and beans. I could not finish my food as I thought the small menudo would be like a small cup not a whole bowl. I had also filled up on chips and salsa and our waitress refilled it so I had even more. All in all, this is an excellent little local spot for some bold flavors and fresh food. The menu is quite large and I'm curious to come back and have some other foods (like chicken fried steak).

I've been here twice in the past week so I guess you could say I like it here. For drinks, Mexican martinis and margaritas are perfect, not too strong and not too sweet. For food, I wasn't crazy for the birria tacos and wouldn't get them again, but everyone else in my group had delicious plates which is why I gave it another chance. Second time around I got the al pastor mini tacos. These by far are the best al pastor tacos I've had! So juicy and flavorful. Can't wait to come back and try something new.

Well my aunt (who is almost 70) didn't see on the menu it said charro beans was an up charge, refried beans came free. So when she got her bill she was surprised to see she was charged extra for the beans. Mind you the refried beans DID come with her tacos. Why did the waitress not ask "do you want the refried that comes with it or charro for an up charge?" Instead, the waitress automatically gave her charro beans. You don't automatically give someone the upgraded version to their meal and especially not without asking which kind of beans does she want. I'm writing this update bc in my last review the waitress did the same thing by up charging my husband's meal when he didn't ask to. BEWARE here! The food is pretty decent, nothing crazy but it hits the spot if you need some decent Mexican food. However, go over your bill and clarify everything-twice! Just in case because they will try to make extra money off upgrading you without asking you.
