I want to TRY to avoid big box stars. I bought some stuff here and asked if they could repair the screen from my patio door. They explained that they were short on staff but the manager was doing screen work. No problem that it might take a couple weeks. After 2 weeks they called "it's ready." The "brush edge" that keeps bugs out was on the WRONG SIDE!" Ok, I'm patient... a little over a week later I returned and picked it up. I was having MAJOR issues mounting the door.... I suddenly realized the "brush" was installed facing the WRONG WAY! I took it into the store and explained to the manager that he installed the brush facing the OUTSIDE Instead of facing inside. "Well, I GUESS I can fix it right now." He said, OBVIOUSLY annoyed. 5 minutes later he came out, handed me the door.... NOT A WORD! Turned around and walked away from me! HE screwed up! With tax I paid $23. I'm sorry to say this particular ACE just lost a new customer! read more

I waited at the service desk for 10 minutes while workers were all around the store, waiting to drop off a screen door to be repaired. I was told that a price estimate could not be given but I was comforted by the fact Roush Hardware in Dublin already said $25-$30. The screen was fixed fast and done right but the bill was $50! The whole frame and price new is $75. Unbelievable. I only took it here because it was closer. And it took 3 sales people to check me out because they didn't know how to ring up a service charge. I will never be back for a repair or anything else here at this location. Tried and true Roush Hardware in Dublin from now on, which also has far superior service! read more

What a cool place. As a guy who loves to grill they have an incredible selection and the guys and gals know their stuff to boot. I purchased a Traeger and they were honest in their assessment of all the grills they have in stock. Very cool store with a knowledgeable staff. Can't beat that. read more

Yes, this was the old Sears that was next door to the Kroger. It's now part of the E & H Hardware chain, owned and operated by the Buehler Family of Wooster, OH. There's not a lot that's different, really. Propane exchange ($20-Kroger has it as well) and mulch out front (sparse and pricey); the basics inside. Key cutting, paint department that mixes and matches, carpet cleaner rental, bird food (pricey too), pet supplies, Craftsman tools (ironic), seasonal grills-you get the gist. It's an Ace Hardware. I did ask an employee if they had more mulch and he professionally and politely answered in the negative. One entertaining thing I saw was complimentary coffee (Mr. Coffee machine) and popcorn (standing "nostalgia" popcorn maker.) Must be part of that E & H charm. read more

I don't know why this Ace has such a low rating. The staff is pretty friendly and genuinely want to help you find what you're looking for. It's somewhat small, but they pack a lot of different things inside. I usually find what I'm looking for when I visit here. Also, there really isn't a true hardware store in the area, so it's convenient. I think it's a great neighborhood store that is quite dependable. read more

This store that we have previously supported with our patronage was also the pick up location for a u-haul we were trying to rent. We arrived on time and were instructed to go inside to get the key. Unfortunately there was something wrong with the process and the store was closed. However, an employee of this store was there and closing up. Instead of getting the key he told us to contact u-haul. Simple fix, right? Wrong. This associate could have saved us a headache by taking 5 extra minutes to get us the key. I will no longer shop at this store ever again. Home depot and Lowes are not that far. Absolutely disappointed. read more

Friendly! Always somebody willing to help and will ask if you need help. I like going into ACE because I can find what I need and get back to my day. There have been times I was not sure they had items I was looking for, but I took a minute to ask somebody and sure enough they were able to find it for me. I also really love that if you sign up for their card they send coupons out on a regular basis. You can also order online and pick up in store! read more

Ace is the place.....For price gouging. After the last 3 trips to the new Ace hardware in Hilliard where the old Sears store was I can now say that I will never return. On average the price cost in that store are between 20 and 30% higher than other stores including Walmart, target, Lowes, home depot and Meijer. I've purchased everything from paint to electrical supplies and after have discussions on this point with the manager a few times I've concluded that the only reason is because they are the only "hardware" store in that area of town so not unlike the small town gas station they feel they can gouge their customers for what some would call a convenience fee. This is both unfair and distasteful. From now on I will drive the additional 2 or 3 miles to save even 1 penny versus spending another cent on overpriced items in ANY ace store. Please check online at any other store prior to wasting your time and overpaying. While I cannot say every item is overpriced I can safely say that the most used items are more than likely so do yourself a favor and save a few bucks by visiting another establishment. read more

I have frequently found myself in many DIY situations and Sears had become my "quick stop and shop" to pick up whatever items and/or tools I might have needed. You can only imagine how happy I was when I saw the signage for ACE Hardware - Coming Soon. Well, they did not disappoint. I find myself spending more and more time at ACE Hardware than at either Lowe's or Home Depot. The sales people have gone out of their way to help me find exactly what I want or need - whether in the store or elsewhere. I've never had anyone go so far out of their way to ensure my satisfaction. I'm incredibly impressed. As long as I live in central Ohio I will travel to this ACE Hardware for all of my indoor and outdoor remodeling needs. Keep up the good work!!! read more
