The store is bright, clean, and well run. The people are nice and chat while prepping things. It's one of the best places i've found for buying large scale brushes that are of high enough quality that bristles don't escape in to your wet paint. I suggest, if you're working on a project, that you pop in here before you go somewhere like lowes. Its slightly more expensive, but you're getting more bang for your buck.

The store was busy. All the workers were busy. But they all made sure to greet every customer & follow up with offers of help. The building's above 100 years old. It reminded me, while I was waiting, of the small town hardware shops my grandpa & I would hit when we needed supplies between roofing jobs. That was a great memory for me. Those background places in the past gather importance when folks are gone. Small shops navigate the big box waves through specialized products & good customer service. The staff is a little "hit or miss". During one recent visit, the staff was less than helpful and wasn't able to answer questions regarding the cost of wall-covering. On my most recent visit, the staff was great - the young man working the store was knowledgeable and helpful. He greted us as soon as we arrived and aksed how he could help us. Was disappointed with my Sherwin-Williams experience. I went in to get the paint color for my front…read moredoor. I live in a condo community, so the color should have been easy to find. A younger teenage employee was helping me. First, he told me he couldn't find the color. I specifically said "Merlot". He tells me he can't find that color. I describe it as a "burgundy-like color". Again, he tells me no. I go to double check my records, then go back to the store a few minutes later, insisting that he check again. Twenty minutes later, I figure out that he thought I said "yellow" instead of merlot. I also found that he couldn't find my community name because he was only looking back in the system for the past couple of years. When I ask him, "You can only look back to 2010?" He finally says, "Well, I can look back to 2008, I think." Why do I have to ask that? Furthermore, I was so flustered and frustrated, I didn't realize he gave me flat paint, which has to be perfectly applied. My door shows a few streaks which I'm going to have to paint over again. I was completely irritated--I'd never shop there again.
