Found out they don't care cause the gratuity is taken out up front. Many that why the waiter I had acted like she didn't care. I was pissed my wife wanted me to leave a tip! I refused because if you don't want to do your job and serve people cause you think you are better than them (which you are not we are all equal) then don't come to work! If you don't belong there don't come there. But if you are going to show up and not do your job to the utmost potential stay your ass at home! Choose another profession! I live 5 minutes from this place and always come here with my parents during Lunch. Their lunch hour gets pretty packed (12-130pm) but they're very consistent with bringing food out. Unfortunately it's a smaller buffet so they lack variety with the food choices, but it's enough to get you full. Comparing this place to Minado, I'd have to say the speed of Dynasty is much better than Minado. Minado is overpriced and the food does not turn over fast enough. I would suggest this place to anyone in the area looking for something simple and enough to fill your stomach. For those who are looking for a high end buffet, this will not be the place. Absolutely HORRID!!! NEVER again will I go to this place or likely even a buffet for that matter. I went here tonight with my family because my husband thought it would be a nice place to take the kids and have a great family experience...I was hesitant from the start but he was excited about it so I figured why not give it a try...BIG MISTAKE!!! I am utterly disgusted and am still crawling in my skin...as I put French fries on my plate I saw something black...I at first thought it was a burnt piece but I took a second look and noticed a HUGE ""FLYING GNAT" deep fried into a French fry ...and I don't mean a small baby gnat...this was almost as long as my thumb nail I immediately went back to my table and showed my husband...I told him to go back to the register and get a refund...I wasn't staying another second in that place nor feed my kids that food...I was appalled and wanted to throw up! The waitress was stunned as well and apologized and even came around a 2nd time to apologize as I was trying to gather the kids...the hostess refunded us our full total and I exited that place as fast as I could..NEVER, EVER, EVER again!!! The food here actually was pretty decent and fresh for a buffet. But it's the people here that really ruined the experience. We came here on father's day and the place was packed. We waited about 20 minutes before we were seated. And once we were in there, the buffet was like a war zone. You have to elbow people to get your food. People were aggressive and greedy and gave zero fu*k of other people especially when it comes to crab legs. They were stingy with the crab legs and didn't fill them consistently. People were in line and once it came out, the first ones in line were grabbing moutainrous high plates of it.. didn't care that other people were also waiting. It's really sad that you see the worst in people. And the restaurant really shouldn't be so stingy with refilling it when they know it's busy and the dinner costs about $30 something dollars per person. Other than that, their steak, fried shrimp and your other Chinese buffet stables like chicken and broccoli were all pretty good. So come if you are a warrior and ready to fight for your food. Over the years..too many years....I've learned to take time to taste the food as opposed to vacuum the food at a buffet. At the same time I have visited a lot of buffets from mediocre to exceptional. Ambiance: average. The place kinda feels like it came out of the 1980s and crash landed into New Jersey. Staff is attentive and serious about their work. Food: They have a decent variety Sushi, steak and Peking duck. However I must note they are skimpy on the salmon sushi. Went here for dinner and was skeptical as I hadn't had buffet in a while. But when we arrived it was bustling and food was fresh and plentiful on a Friday eve. We didn't realize we could "BYOB" but was happy it was an option. There was one station that was running low / cold and the owner was attentive - she had the kitchen make a fresh batch and served me personally. My fave was the abundance of finger food (mozzarella sticks/onion rings/chicken wings), Chinese entrees and the dessert area. Why not just get take out from a good local Chinese joint? Way too many hands in the food. Their only goal is to pile their plate high and run off in a corner and devour enough crab to give themselves gout. Barely masticating and inhaling several different types of proteins along with greasy noodle & rice dishes, washed down with ice cold soda to solidify the fat, will surely lead to incomplete digestion. If you like crab legs, don't bother going to this buffet at this time. It changed management and it's not what it was. If you are not willing to fight over food like it's free, also don't bother coming here. It use to be one of my favorite buffets, they use to put crab legs out and now you have to wait in line 20-25 minutes and probably not get anything because you have 2-3 people on each side waiting. Before they would put a full tray and now the only put half. When asked the manager if they were putting anytime soon, she was ignoring me and rolling her eyes until I said excuse me, can you please answer me... her response was yes you have to wait, make the line or or eat something else, this is not a seafood restaurant. How rude! I explained to her I did wait for 25 minutes and she asked the waitress if I took some in her language because she says the waitress said you took one plate, that's 15-20 dollars that means you already ate what you paid for , eat something else. I get it, it's a buffet but there's no need for that rudeness and people do go to eat seafood as well, plus they are more expensive than other buffets so if you're going to change things about it like putting less seafood tell your customers. But Dynasty Buffet is, dare I say, upscale? Mostly Japanese & Chinese food. Certain items are excellent. *Snow crab legs.....very meaty, hot, plentiful. *Oysters.......I''m not a big fan but this is super popular item with others * Chicken skewers.......extremely tender, nice spiced meat * Carving station.....the peking duck (complete with hoison/pancake/scallion) was excellent. Steak is also good. * Hot foods: from pancit to grilled veggies to wonton soup. HUGE selection and all very, very good. and my favorite..... CREME BRULEE at the dessert bar!!! Hey, it isn't Paris, France quality Creme Brulee but it's still pretty yummy! There is only about a 1/4 inch of vanilla custard in the ramekin which is then topped with the traditional burnt caramel topping. The sound of that spoon cracking through the sugar shell....ahhhh!!!, .....I could probably eat five. My son loves being able to make his own sundae at the ice cream station and my husband loves the almond cookies. Also, always an abundance of fresh cut fruit.....watermelon, pineapple, honeydew, cantelope, kiwi. Wonderful! Buffets generally don't earn anything above 3 stars for me so this is a real first. Dynasty Buffet deserves stars for all of the following: food variety, food quality, setup, and service. Through one review or another, the below has already been mentioned, but:: - Fresh crab legs are meaty and succulent - Marinated beef short ribs fresh off the grill are tasty and remind me of Korean Kalbi - Creme brulee served at a buffet; not the best you'll have and it was a tad cold - Stuffed crab shells are so much better than the cheese stuffed clams The pricing is very fair - we went on a Saturday night and it was $20/pp (not bad when you take into consideration the amount of seafood we had). My one and only complaint as a regular customer is that your waitresses are very greedy with their tips! Case in point.... this IS NOT A FULL SERVICE RESTAURANT! Usually when I go with my friend, we tip a couple bucks opposed to the suggested percentage that's printed on the receipt. One day after a man in a wheelchair was with his nurses aide they were leaving. Maybe they forgot to tip I really don't know, but the waitress practically chased this elderly man down and asked why he didn't leave a tip or maybe it wasn't enough, but if she ever did that to me, I would've never came back, no matter how the food is. Its far and away the most expensive in the area, but the food is very good quality, and the selection is pretty good, with some decent seafood. Service is ok. Not my favorite buffet, but it's a buffet, you dont need amazing service. Unfortunately, this is one of those places that coworkers always seem to want to go to for lunch, and it is just plain overpriced for lunch. There are no seafood options, except for the sushi (its just Chinese buffet sushi, nothing to get excited about), and the price is more what I would expect to pay for a dinner buffet. Cons- Way too pricey especially for a weeknight, not that much selection but worst of all is they only put out a half tray of crab legs every half hour. They have even posted a sign at the legs to this extent. This particular night a fight almost broke out between people rushing for a new batch. Words were exchanged. My mom asked me if I wanted to go with her to a Christmas party last week. When I asked where it was and she said it was at a Chinese buffet, I was pretty unimpressed. I went anyway because I wanted to keep her company. VERY SURPRISED! The food was great and only a couple things disappointed. They even had carving stations of roast duck, prime rib and spare ribs and a guy working on grilling all kinds of meat. There was a sushi bar, a salad bar, an American food bar, a raw bar..... I mean what else do you need? And to top it off, a dessert bar! Honestly, the only thing in the dessert bar that was good was the creme brulee. The panna cotta had way too much gelatin in it and was hard. They do have a whole setup for soft serve ice cream and the fixings but I didn't eat that. Pretty good for a buffet! This is a Chinese buffet, but it has a lot of American and Japanese options. There is a large grill area with freshly grilled meats and mushrooms, and at least 7 types of soup that I can remember. There is a full salad bar with interesting options, and a dessert bar that will not disappoint. You pay when you enter the restaurant, and select your choice of beverage at that point. Your meats are typical with some being too seasoned or too dry. The carbs (noodles and rices) are standard, as are the soups. Don't believe the sushi hype, it's terrible here. Veggies though were surprisingly more fresh than I was expecting. IMPORTANT: what makes this place worth it is the plethora of fresh crab and raw oysters as well as a cook to order grill. This is a "Go To" place if you are trying to decide on a type of restaurant to go to. They serve many different types of food and do them good. The $20.00 per person is a little expensive for a buffet and then you have to shell out $2.00 more for a soft drink. I been here many times and I have still not sampled all of the items on the menu. My favorites induce Kielbasi - BBQ Ribs, Prime Rib, Country ribs, Steak, Chicken Sticks, Pot Roast, Fresh Green Beans, mashed potato etc.. I saw a sushi bar in the corner but I'm not into seafood. Speaking of which there are oysters, Salmon, Big Ole' Crab legs (Which is what I understand is worth the 20 bucks by itself) I have not tried their Asian offerings but I did see General Tso chicken, Crunch Chicken, Pepper Steak, Many different soup offerings as well. Dynasty is without question the best of "Chinese buffets" in the area. The large selection of foods on the buffet stands, along with the fresh grilled items and sushi (included in the price) are all generally quite good and they have one of the largest selections in the area. It is also the most expensive in the area, particularly Fri thru Sun. Service here is a bit spotty. Sometimes they are tripping over themselves to be attentive and at other times I have actually had to get up from my table and go track one of them down just to get a beverage refill.
