This buffet is simply not worth the price. I paid $46 for the weekend buffet (over $39 after tax and tip), but the food selection and quality were far below my expectations. There were only 2 hot food stations, plus a salad bar, a fruit station, a sushi section, and a small grill. Compared with other Chinese buffets in North Jersey charging around $24 on weekends, this place offers much fewer choices. The food quality was also disappointing: No snow crab legs The steak was tough and very low quality. Even basic items like salt & pepper shrimp were refilled very slowly, leaving empty trays for long periods. At this price point, I expected a much better experience. For just a little more money, you can enjoy an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ or hot pot with much higher-quality food, table service, and a far better overall experience. Save your money. I stopped by a few weeks ago and was hesitant to write this review, but honestly, it is not a place I would return to. The restaurant itself feels outdated. You can tell it is past its prime. The service was very straightforward, borderline rude, and the ambiance was pretty dull. As soon as you walk in, you are asked about payment before even getting a proper greeting. The food was below average. The sushi was just okay, the roasted chicken was extremely dry, and the shrimp in the fried rice seemed very low quality, which says a lot. There is a decent variety, but if you are craving Chinese food, you are better off ordering from a local spot. Price wise, it is not too bad. We paid around 50 dollars for two people, including tip and drinks during lunchtime. I do hope they can make some improvements, but overall, this place is just not my cup of tea. read more

The price of this place has gone way up and the quality is down. They don't like to refill the buffet with fresh food either. Some of it looks so dried out like it had been sitting there since lunch. It's amazing that we get to choose from so many different kinds of food for $19.99 for lunch and the QUALITY and FLAVORS are excellent and have definitely exceeded our expectations!! Came here a couple months ago and have returned once since. By buffet standards they are a grade above most others. While it is also a little more expensive, the dinner buffet has a lot of nice offerings. The ice cream actually tastes like ice cream instead of water that you get at many other buffets. The staff is not friendly and they are like hawks watching. I've seen them take plates, drop the check and cookies while people are still eating. With that being said they still get the 4. Pretty standard buffet. Lots of different foods, reasonable prices and it's BYOB. We even saw a party bring in their own tablecloth and decorations. Servers are pretty attentive and will clear the table as you go. Desserts were all frozen. They had tiramisu, cheesecake. And Creme brûlée as options. The tiramisu and cheesecake were both completely frozen and when we told the server, they brought it back so defrosted that I was melted. I've been coming here with my family for over 15+ years and it breaks my heart to see how the overall quality has declined. The prices have increased drastically and the quality of the food and service have decreased drastically. I remember coming here as a kid and the waitresses being so nice to my family, it seemed like they loved their job. Now, the waitresses don't even talk to you. They drop off your cups harshly and quickly just so that they can go talk to their coworkers. They're also very rude when picking up the plates, they barely say any words to say "keep your fork" and they instead use rude hand gestures and get frustrated when you don't understand and they just grab the plates harshly. Also, I've seen them use the same gloves when picking up people's plates, serving people's drinks, and going on their phones, which is very unsanitary. Speaking of unsanitary, I noticed a lot of plates having some marks on them meaning a lot of them were not cleaned thoroughly. I wonder how they're cleaning the plates, it really seemed disgusting. I remember when the crab legs used to be included in the cheaper dinner price. Now you have to pay per pound. I understand why they did this but the quality of the other food has decreased and it seems like they're reusing food from either earlier or the day before. I always get some noodles and today they seemed hard and old. Also, when trying to order crab legs today when I went they said they didn't have any. They did have some type of seafood medley option that included crab legs which tasted like they were old, which makes you think: are they really serving old food? I really miss the way things were here because I remember loving coming to eat here with my family, but they all agree the quality has gone downhill. Dynasty Buffet is a pretty average Chinese-style buffet place. The selection size is not that great, but the food itself is decent. In particular, the teriyaki chicken and mussels are good. The sushi is average, but any time a buffet offers sushi, that is a plus to me. However, there were no crab legs today! From reading other Yelp reviews, it sounds like that is the highlight of this buffet, so that was disappointing for me. I arrived for lunch at 11:30 when it opened, but when I arrived and walked over to the food stations, I noticed that half of the food wasn't even there yet! If they can't get all of the food there on time, then they shouldn't be open yet. The staff members are attentive when it comes to helping you remove your used plates from the table. Overall, Dynasty Buffet is a fine place for Chinese food in a buffet setting. A bao bun station with roasted duck and chicken, portabella mushroom, steak, ribs, etc . Possibilities are endless! They also have an American food section with more kid friendly options like mozz sticks, chicken tenders, and Mac n cheese. Overall many who dine here come to get the endless snow crab legs refreshed about every 7-10 minutes. There's a reason why many selfishly pile up as soon as they are brought out. However, be warned, during dinner time when the crab legs come out you will see plenty of assholes cutting the lines and just grabbing a ton of crab at once. - The problem with the above is that they don't serve the crab legs in a container that's big enough to accommodate many people. So it runs out literally in seconds and you have to wait, only to see other jerks cut the line. - Solution - put your freakin' crab legs in a bigger pile/spot. If you don't, it creates a crappy dining experience. If you want to save money, don't serve crab legs then! Is it worth 29.99 per person? No. With the limited food they have for a buffet it should be cheaper. Yes, they have "steak" and stuff but I believe 30 dollars for a limited menu isn't worth it. I was hoping that they have their crab legs and oyster that was pictured on this website but it doesn't come with the AYCE menu. Expect to pay extra for those. Extremely unprofessional! I came in at around 3pm to enjoy a meal. The cashier did her thing and asked if I wanted to pay extra for a drink. I said yes and paid no problem. Even left a 25% tip since they have the option to tip in the beginning and not the end... No big deal. As I am enjoying my meal, one of the staff approaches me and tells me I need to pay for the dinner option to continue eating the ribs I had. I asked why wasn't this brought up to me at the register since I would have been happy to pay then. She said doesn't matter you pay now. When I brought this up to their manager she couldn't explain and continued to shake me down for more money during my meal! If an employee forgets to mention that there is a lunch or a dinner charge that's on them. Don't interrupt someone's meal demanding more money. No one is going to want to eat after that happens. I guess my first mistake was coming here on a Monday night. The rice was so dry and hard that it felt like it's been sitting there for hours. The noodles had NO flavor and were dry! Mediocre food, excellent service, strange policies. Plenty of seating available, plenty of parking. $29/pp buffet for dinner. We were charged the full price before being seated. This was very abrupt and not explained to us, as we stood awkwardly and the front desk stared at us expectantly. A few other tables' patrons did not seem to have been subject to the same requirement. I hope it's a common thing in this neighborhood because it's quite rude and unexpected. Mainly Chinese dishes paired with a Japanese sushi station, and varied meats station. All the staff speak Mandarin, which is promising towards having passable Chinese food. Food platters were always full and quickly replaced, very impressive. I sampled most of the dishes that seemed intriguing and avoided the super cheap items like fried foods, carbs, cookies, etc. Items I enjoyed: 1) Nigiri sushi - limited selection but salmon was thick cut and fatty, not too much rice, could eat a ton of this. Squid was a nice surprise and fresh, red snapper and mackerel were also great for variety, just don't be looking for ikura, eel Nigiri, or anything else. 2) Steamed flounder in soy sauce - tender, sweet and salty, oily, just like at nice Chinese restaurants, but watch for bones 3) Cheesy clam - filled with clam bits and cheesy mayo 4) Short rib/kalbi - supposedly Korean but tastes more like American smoky charcoal bbq, my pieces were too fatty but the meat was cooked well 5) Soft serve ice cream - vanilla, chocolate or mixed, with toppings and sauces. Best soft serve I have had at a buffet. No iciness, smooth, sweet, exactly what you expect and want at the end of a meal 6) Kiwi - surprised by offering of yellow kiwis, nice and sweet and tart 7) Soda - once paid for, free refills, comes in cup with ice, not the super cheap powdered stuff, nicely carbonated 8) Spinach au gratin - personal favorite, cheesy lovely mush Just okay or bad: 1) cheesy crab shell - goopy, mayo-heavy, cheesy, fake crab 2) boiled clam - overcooked, dried out 3) green beans - too undercooked personally 4) calamari - too flour-y, thick no longer crunchy fried batter 5) kalbi/short rib - American bbq smoky flavor, too fatty 6) most dessert items - sitting for long time, low value items like store bought cookies, jello 7) sushi rolls - probably not a crowd favorite, most rolls are dried out, rice has hardened, not tasty 8) carved roast - cold, huge portion, not worth the calories 9) boiled crab - lean, no eggs Seafood selection is poor. Meat selection is varied but not all delicious. Chinese dishes are varied and extensive. Sushi selection is highly appreciated. Alright, so I have to say I've frequented my fair share of Asian buffets - from sushi buffets to Chinese to Korean BBQ. There are a few things I rate a great Chinese buffet place by - a Peking duck bun station, the quality of their fried sesame balls, the sushi, and the veggies. Random, I know, maybe it's because I figure most places can dish out buckets of lo mein and fried rice and French fries but is it really good? Have to say Dynasty showed up in every category. Every dish I had was solid - fried food was hot and crispy, sushi was as good as buffet sushi can be, and everything was seasoned well. I appreciated that they leaned toward putting less quantity out at a time which meant everything was put out fresh frequently (vs some places where things sit and get soggy very quickly). The Peking duck buns were assembled by a man who treated each bun with such artfulness and care, I almost felt bad eating it (very good). Sushi bar had a lot of variety - I liked that they didn't shove mounds of rice on to each bite and the rolls were tasty! The veggies were well flavored and crisp. I was actually surprised by the Korean galbi - they were definitely not bad! Standouts: the honey chicken, the sesame balls, duck buns, and the grilled meats. Service was fast and frequent. Went to lunch today Saturday January 21. Most of the items were finger food and side dishes. Alot of fried food, and salty amd oily Chinese food. Not worth $19.99 per person. Drink is not included. No carving station. No prime rib. No steak. No salmon. That is only part of the expensive dinner buffet, which is $35 a person. Next time I will go to another restaurant. The hibachi is pretty decent (duck served in pillowy buns with hoisin and greens is unique and often delicious, and the oysters are a nice touch). People crowd around waiting for the snow crab clusters to refill. Pigs! Take a few, not twenty for your table alone! Jeez! As for the Chinese fare, it's what you'd expect. The stand outs again are the hibachi stand (the sliced short ribs are really good while the sirloin steak portions are often a bit tough/chewy) and the small sushi and raw bar area. $21/person plus $2 extra for beverage. Kids under 10 pay $11, soda or juice $2 extra. After 7ish, I feel like staff is slower at replenishing so get there earlier. read more

Out of all the places my mom could have picked to go out for a nice Mother's Day lunch/dinner, Dynasty Buffet is where she wanted to go so that is where we went! Of course the line was insane but it was moving and we waited perhaps 20 minutes to get seated which I didn't think it was too bad considering it was Mother's Day. And even though it was ridiculously packed this did not effect the level of service received or the food that was available. All the items were readily filled once they were out and the waitress was quick to remove our empty plates. I think the biggest draw to this place is the fact that they offer crab legs and they have carving stations that includes peking duck, grilled meat as well as a sushi station and a raw bar! I guess that is why this buffet is a bit pricier than others but if you're into seafood and good quality meats this place is worth trying. Everything I tried had great flavor and was fresh. Way better buffet than Flaming Grill. Food seems fresh and the selection solid, unlike other buffets which has way to much and as a result loses its focus. Staff is welcoming unlike other places where you get moved along like nobody. Plates are picked up regularly. Good seafood choices, good grilled choices, and a hist of other Asian goodies. We went for Easter. I am not sure if they have this spread all the time. It was pretty pretty good. It was also pretty pretty pricey but given it was a holiday its ok. If they serve this type of fare all the time and its cheaper on regular weekends then this place rocks. They have a full array of sushi, bbq & grill meats, chinese dishes & apps. They have a decent selection of desserts as well. I would go back and just pig out on the crispy duck alone. The crab legs were good too.
