The facility (The Picklr Aurora location) is very well-maintained, and the experience was great from the start. JP, the owner, personally answered all my questions over the phone beforehand and was present, making sure everyone was taken care of. His staff was also incredibly friendly and made every player feel welcome. As for the instructor, Pavan did an excellent job training us in clinic, focusing on both situational and technical drills. We knew enough about the game and the rules to be dangerous, so we signed up for "open play" and dove right in. Oops, we quickly realized that we actually knew less than we thought. After playing a few games, we weren't sure that this was going to work for us. We figured we would ride out the 30 days and that would be it. Then we signed up for a free Learn to Play session and what a difference it made in our attitude and we actually left better (still complete novice players), but a better feeling and excitement to continue playing. JP Parker, the owner/operator actually took the time to teach our session. He did an amazing job of teaching, coaching, and encouraging us during the class. It truly made a difference in our outlook and excitement to continue to improve and play more Pickleball. The entire staff has been very helpful, friendly and encouraging. We are glad we took the Learn to Play class and we meet JP. And yes, we are going to continue with the Picklr Aurora!

I was genuinely excited to enjoy a night out, but that went straight out the window when your staff refused to accept my Colorado Digital ID -- even though it's a state-issued, legal, government-verified form of identification. Let me say that again for the folks in the back: IT'S A LEGAL ID. Colorado's Digital ID app is recognized by the state as a valid replacement for physical IDs. It's secure, up-to-date, and fully backed by Colorado law. But instead of being informed, your staff chose to treat me like I was trying to pass off a fake. Embarrassing for who? You, not me. If you're going to operate a business that cards people, maybe train your staff to recognize actual legal identification, not just whatever they feel like accepting. You're not above the law, and turning away paying customers over ignorance isn't a cute look. Get it together, Bowlero

Competitive play is one thing... Allowing unsafe behavior to continue after it has been reported is something very different. When my sons were playing, unsafe conduct was brought to the attention of staff, including behavior that should have been stopped immediately. Instead of stepping in, taking control, and addressing the issue, the situation was allowed to continue and escalate. Multiple people were getting hurt, concerns were raised, and there was no meaningful sense of urgency from the referees or staff to restore order and make sure rules were being enforced. What concerns me most is not only the behavior of one player, but the lack of accountability from the adults responsible for managing the field. When a business creates an environment where safety complaints are minimized, poor behavior is not corrected, and the people raising concerns are treated like the problem, that reflects a serious leadership failure. As a parent, I would be very uncomfortable dropping my child off in an environment like this and trusting that safety would be the top priority. As a customer, I would expect a business owner to take these issues seriously and ensure staff are capable of making sound decisions in the moment. Based on our experience, that did not happen.
