The coaches (Emily, Val, Meranda) are all EXTREMELY caring and helpful. Especially now in pre-team, Coach Meranda is tough but very knowledgable. Unfortunately, it was far from what I expected in terms of organization and, more importantly, safety. And since no one reached out except to see if we were returning to join their program with an automated email, I thought I should share here. When we arrived, there was no one to greet us, show us where to go, or provide any direction. After waiting with no guidance, I eventually had to walk into the gymnastics area just to find someone who could tell us where to be. Instead of assistance, I was met with confused looks, as if I had no business being there. I wasn't the only one lost--another mother and her two daughters were also completely unsure of where to go. When I was finally directed to the appropriate area for the ninja class, I walked my son over and was told that the two instructors would bring him back to me at the end. They told me to go check in with the front desk person, who I had not seen when coming in. When I did go to the front desk a young woman was on her phone and had no idea why I was talking to her. She said just sign in you don't have to tell me. Ok well I was told to come talk to you, was my response. It's starting to be clear at this point that if you don't know what's going on, for example if you are new, you have to figure It out by yourself. So, at 55 past the hour, my four-year-old walked out alone while I sat in the waiting area. I had been watching the designated screen, which was supposed to allow us to view our children during class, but I only saw my son once before the feed was just a picture of gym equipment. You could not see any ninjas in the screen so I have no idea what if anything they were doing. I waited for about five minutes, expecting one of the instructors to come out and at least confirm class had ended, but no one ever did. We left, and about 15 minutes into our drive home to Englewood, I received a call from the studio asking if I had my son--meaning no one even realized he had left. At the most basic level, a facility working with young children needs to prioritize their safety. This experience showed a lack of organization, communication, and awareness that I simply cannot overlook. Because of this, we will not be returning. I hope you take this feedback seriously, as these issues could have serious consequences if not addressed.

The South gym has equipment and coaching issues which was brought to the owner's attention. Apparently, she will keep the Xcel program, Rec and Ninja because they make more $$. The floor has many dead spots and the floor to ceiling windows are not tempered glass. The windows let in bright sunlight which has caused issues with tumbling on floor and vault. There are no coverings over them and floor is right next to the windows. Many of the kids have been at the gym for 6+ years so it's been devastating to them. The kids were offered a 1.5 hour try-out at North gym only to be told to join their Xcel program (which is a disgrace for girls who have always trained DP and are Optionals). They only accepted 3 girls for their DP team of whom 2 of them were employee's girls. They already knew who they were taking before the try-outs and just had try-outs to say that they offered them. Beth doesn't care about the gym as she has another business (this one was her husband's dream, not hers, and since he's gone she has let it fall apart). You will only see her in the gym when 5280 holds a meet. Equipment is not safe!

My nearly three year-old grandson loves tractors of all kinds and wow do they have a huge assortment. What an amazing place, the owner was so welcoming and kind. Can't wait to return.

They did offer accommodations (let's move her into a tumbling class or keep her on low beams) but instead told me she wasn't welcome to return. Their reasoning was because another epileptic student had a seizure and it was "really upsetting for the other gymnasts." Wow... to think this poor kiddo has a seizure in class and the gyms only concern was how upsetting this was to the other students. What a miss. We've done a lot of community education for my daughters peers' related to epilepsy. My daughter was well controlled and had no issues during her time at DSG. We were transparent about her disorder because it was the right thing to do... too bad the owners didn't make reasonable accommodations and educate their teams about epilepsy rather than promote fear and discrimination. My daughter was heartbroken and so was I... I highly recommend considering another gym that accepts kiddos from all walks of life and background.

Perhaps a "parents night out" isn't a fair test of a gymnastics school but I'd argue that it does tell you some important things about the demeanor and personality of a school. You can learn a lot about a place when it's out of it's element. In this case we learned that the school runs programs like Parents Night out as a way to make money. What's wrong with with that you ask? Well, while this type of event could be used to bring new business to the company by showing the kids a good time and tending to the kids as individuals, the DSG event was really about keeping the kids from the fun stuff (foam pit, trampoline... anything gymnastics) and running them through a few inflatables before dumping them into a dark cold room for a movie. It had nothing to do with gymnastics. I really wanted this to be a great time for my boys but they both looked as if they'd been dropped off at an evil day care. The staff simple asked who we were there to pick-up and yelled their names out. When we picked them up the staff didn't ask the kids if they enjoyed the evening or even say goodbye. In short, everything is an experience and I'd expect a place like this to go out of their way to make sure that everyone had a good experience. They didn't make that kind of effort and they shouldn't hold another event like this in my opinion. Stick to what you know and can be authentic with. Don't play day care with a Parents Nights Out if it's just about the money. We would have rather stayed with the kids then put them in this situation. Totally disappointed with DSG.

The "councilors" were barely paying attention to the kids, the room was filled with children between the ages of 6-13? without appropriate games or activities. Complete chaos any time I dropped off or picked up. I saw one councilor alone with clearly more than 40 kids by themselves. It did not feel safe to send my nephew here for Summer camp after a horrible spring break camp experience.

Good: Plenty of time slots available and makeups are easy if you miss. Instructors show great patience with kids of various ages/skill sets in one class at times (not always the case). They asked for feedback recently and appear to have made appropriate changes based on it. Staff are friendly and helpful, esp the manager. She rocks. Not as good: Kids are not pushed to get better faster. Treading water like that is good for business, but for families, not so much. They have rolled out an initiative to be accountable for this now. Goals for progress are clear, for example. I believe in it. While fit matters, we have had five instructors now (turnover, scheduling) and only the first one (who moved away) and newest one seemed truly focused on helping our child improve at an appropriate pace. They all seem competent and friendly, though. If you need to speak with Park Hill Safesplash, your only option reaches an off-site call center. While they can handle many issues, they lack location-specific insight. If you really need to speak to Park Hill, they will call for you and have Park Hill call you. I'd expect a call center from insurance or cable companies, not a swim school. Prices went up this year. We haven't priced other schools, but it's getting more expensive here (like everything in 2025). Overall, we have been happy with SafeSplash Park Hill. 3.5 stars worth of happy for now.
