She quickly advanced into pre-team, and ultimately joined their Junior Olympic team. Throughout her time at CGI, the coaches have been outstanding! They have been incredibly positive, and importantly, they safely progressed her through skills. They are extremely knowledgeable. It was fascinating to watch how they developed her as a gymnast. They have become family to us. They care deeply about her as a person in addition to her as a gymnast. They are interested in what is going on in her life outside of the gym, encourage her with school, and support extra-curricular and social activities. They genuinely care about her happiness and well-being. Recently, our daughter, now a sophmore in high school, transitioned to diving. We have kept in touch with all of her coaches, and she frequently asks to visit the gym because she loves everyone there so much. We really miss our CGI family, and are so grateful they had such a special role in our daughter's childhood. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

Tried a free trial class today (for ages 19 months - 3 years) with my little one. They started off…read morewith some basic movements and songs followed by a brief introduction of parents and kids. After that they had an open gym time, which was most of the class. I was hoping for a bit more structure, especially having them learn some actual skills that focused on balance, strength, and coordination. They had the kids practice some forward rolls at the beginning of class and over a donut mat during the open gym time, but that was about it. Having coached gymnastics for many years, these kids are far too young to do forward rolls safely and they can easily hurt their back/neck so I wasn't a fan of that particular skill being taught. At the end of the class, they got to play with bubbles, sing a song, and were given stamps. The instructor was very sweet, but they seemed short staffed since she had to balance the class with occasional trips to the office area. The facility was clean, but many of the mats looked old/were wobbly and in need of replacement. The gym is small with just one room for classes. To sign up, we were quoted $89 a month, with a $35 annual fee (they take $15 off that price if you sign up the day of your trial class). I honestly don't think it's worth the price for a self-taught class. I'd rather go to an actual gymnastics gym to take a mommy and me class since they tend to be more hands on, emphasize skill building, and work on following instructions. I also think if your little one is younger than 2.5 years, they won't get much out of the experience. We tried this gym out because it's close to us, but I would rather drive to do something a bit more legitimate. Plus, the prices at actual gymnastics gyms are cheaper!

My 15 month old granddaughter enjoys her Monday classes at the gym…read more I like that the children and parents are required to wash their hands before entering and remove their shoes. The class includes lots of music and songs to motivate the children to move. The equipment appears safe and clean. The time in class is beneficial for new mommies to talk with one another while the children have time to move around the room and work on gross motor skills. We are happy that our granddaughter enjoys the gym and that our daughter in law cares about her development enough to want to bring her each week.

If you like a shared space gym that's packed full of fun things, then this is the place to be! I…read morefelt both completely out of my element and right at home as a traveling aerialist. The space is compact and looks like a parkour gym with a little bit of this and a little bit of that tucked away in every corner (even a fairly full-looking weights area in the front of the building outside of the parkour area). The other students looked like they were very comfortable in the space, and the other students in my (Chinese pole) class were very nice, and we played around together after our class, which was awesome! The instructor did a great job moving the class along and bringing everything up/down in difficulty depending on the individual student. I loved trying out this new apparatus in such an encouraging and judgment-free place. I'll be back next time I'm in town.

Since I was 11 years old, I've always wanted to do a backflip. Now that I'm 40, it seemed like a…read morelost dream. I bought one of these 30 day challenges online I thought would help me achieve a backflip, but it ended up teaching me the wrong stuff. Then someone recommended Apex to help me because they have drop-in classes and one-on-one coaching. Within four months, I finally got results! Here are my takeaways for success: * Come in with a goal. Pick a trick (or several). It motivates you to keep coming and helps you gauge your progress. * Do a monthly membership for at least three months. It gives you access to all their classes, which leads me to the next point.... * Take different classes. They do a LOT more than parkour, and I've yet to take a parkour class. They do aerial, handstand classes, tumbling, trampoline, tricking, and more. Taking other courses rounds out your training and helps your brain put all the pieces together. Most importantly, you get access to different coaches. I started with tricking, then tried a tumbling class with Anthony and everything came together. He's an incredible teacher who's great at demonstrating. But they all have unique teaching styles. Rob gives simple, clear instructions that work up to more complex tricks--with big results; Natatia has a great warmup and is vigilant to avoid injuries; and Bethel can spot mistakes others miss. It's important to find what works for you and every instructor is unique. * Consider private lessons. Ryan is a phenomenal coach, one of the absolute best I've ever met. I made more progress in one hour with him than months on my own. He's the perfect combination of supportive and challenging. HIGHLY recommend talking to him. * ASK QUESTIONS. Some reviews suggest people are unapproachable here. They aren't. They assume you are working on something unless you state otherwise. You'll understand why as soon as you land a trick and stimagine if everyone was interfering with your practice. Sometime you just need to do the work uninterrupted. * Finally, be gentle with yourself and your expectations. This is a lifestyle and progress moves at the pace your fingernails grow. Don't rush what's uncomfortable. It helps if you have other stuff to work on so your mind-body connection can rest. That's where learning happens.... Good luck to you and enjoy. This place will truly change your life.
