The kids are put in a game play situation with adults who don't give a crap about following the rules. I honestly believe the kids are purposely targeted with the intent to hurt them and take them permanently out of play. My son attended a birthday party there. Through out the party 2 of our boys (ages 11) were brought to tears because of the aggressive manner they were yelled at by the female employee for picking up paintballs from the ground after dropping then and for lifting their face gear after game play was over and in the process of walking out of the arena. A simple safety reminder would have been sufficient as this was their first experience in the sport. HINT: You CANNOT deal with children in the same manner you do with grown adults. Lastly, in the final game my heart dropped as I watched my son and 4 of his friends, again age 11 years old, get cornered in a game the ref called the "Alamo". The adult players opened fire on the kids no more than 2-3 feet away from them and did not adhere to the surrender rules. My son was shot in the neck, ear and back. His skin was ripped right off around his ear and neck. He sustained bruising , cuts and burns. I had to peel the fragments of the paintball off of his raw skin. You can only imagine how loud he was screaming. This tells you how close up he was shot!! It wasn't until the kids were shot multiple times that the ref intervened and stopped everything. My son was not brought out of the arena by a staff member but by another participant. When the kids made a simple mistake their guns were taken away but when grown people intentionally hurt children there were NO CONSEQUENCES!! The only thing I got was a warm ice pack, which I had to ask for and a lame explanation, " we did the best we could to stop it". I WOULD NEVER RETURN NOR WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!

So we loaded up our dirt bike and quad and headed to Jewell Motocross Track to celebrate his birthday by doing some riding. PROs: ++ There's several different tracks (3 or 4) offered: beginner, intermediate, and pro. ++ All tracks run on a counter clockwise configuration - so there's no confusion about which way you should be riding. ++ They do offer happy hour pricing - though now I cannot recall the days, times, or pricing. Whoops! CONs: -- At $20 a rider - admission was a bit more expensive than I expected. Though it was my first time at a motocross track so perhaps I just don't know. What the rates are. -- The staff member at the entrance fused over our quad saying that they, "weren't allowed." After explaining it was for me to putt around on he said there was one area we were allowed to ride it far from the other tracks - gee, thanks. After all is said, Jewel Motocross Track was an "OK" experience in my book. I doubt I'll be making my way back any time soon - but wouldn't mind if I did.

Staff is friendly and solid, even though I think they were pretty understaffed for the weekend crowds. They allow you to play private games with just your friends, but you may have to wait in line for the public games to be completed first (maybe 20-30 minutes in between games). Plenty of covered picnic benches to spread out and relax, unpack gear, and clean up. No lockers for your valuables though. Fields are VERY well developed and have fantastic terrain features and creative designs. They're HUGE fields with lots of options, so it definitely attracts the larger crowds in Denver. Prices for field paint are what you'd expect for this kind of facility - it's not cheap, but that's how they make the majority of their revenue, very reasonable. Plenty of free CO2 fills. There are upper and lower fields that are both well maintained. We played the "bachelor party game" at the end of our time that helped us clear the rest of our paint out - definitely recommended if you're here to celebrate your buddy.

They took us out back on the side of the building where they had 6 lanes of axe throwing. We had the first two lanes. Axe throwing is tough , but they also had some star shaped saucer type things to throw which was much easier. Also the lanes weren't covered for weather protection it was just open. I wish our axe boards weren't so worn out I think the axe would've hit better. Overall good active outdoor experience.

Competitive play is one thing... Allowing unsafe behavior to continue after it has been reported is something very different. When my sons were playing, unsafe conduct was brought to the attention of staff, including behavior that should have been stopped immediately. Instead of stepping in, taking control, and addressing the issue, the situation was allowed to continue and escalate. Multiple people were getting hurt, concerns were raised, and there was no meaningful sense of urgency from the referees or staff to restore order and make sure rules were being enforced. What concerns me most is not only the behavior of one player, but the lack of accountability from the adults responsible for managing the field. When a business creates an environment where safety complaints are minimized, poor behavior is not corrected, and the people raising concerns are treated like the problem, that reflects a serious leadership failure. As a parent, I would be very uncomfortable dropping my child off in an environment like this and trusting that safety would be the top priority. As a customer, I would expect a business owner to take these issues seriously and ensure staff are capable of making sound decisions in the moment. Based on our experience, that did not happen.
