We came here because of Groupon and did axe throwing for 4 people for an hour. The staff were friendly and helpful. They took us out back on the side of the building where they had 6 lanes of axe throwing. We had the first two lanes. Axe throwing is tough , but they also had some star shaped saucer type things to throw which was much easier. Also the lanes weren't covered for weather protection it was just open. I wish our axe boards weren't so worn out I think the axe would've hit better. Overall good active outdoor experience. read more

This place is a disaster for these reasons; 1. Unappealing environment; dirty, low quality materials for the shooting area... 2. Serious safety issues (screws sticking out of walls in prime playing area, which cut one of the people in our party) 3. Management is incompetent. Kids that work there are calling the shots, and it's not easy to manage large groups and equipment that fails, so you wind up with poor decision making. I don't expect they could turn things around without a major change. read more

Went for my bachelor party and had an absolute blast! Was seriously the highlight of the weekend and a ton of fun for the whole group - had about 11 guys - we were able to play both indoor paint courses and everyone who works there is super nice! Would do it again in a heartbeat read more

So one day we were looking for something to do as a "special event" for our small group. We had a long afternoon and could stretch it into an evening, if needed; we wanted something new, something fun & something memorable . . . . something completely different than a movie, the amusement park, biking or bowling. Ugh! "What about paintball?" None of us had ever done it! So off we went to THE AMERICAN PAINTBALL COLISEUM. Getting there was somewhat difficult because of road work; but with a little trial and a few errors we found that we could take 38th to Grape and then it was a breeze to find. The American Paintball Coliseum is open year-round; although the outdoor fields (all 65 acres) are open on weekends during the winter months . . . but even that is limited during the really cold, wet weather. But there are indoor fields open 7 days a week. And what a blast! Our "special event" afternoon went by in a flash! We had a great time and wondered why we hadn't done this before. The American Paintball Coliseum has a full service rental shop; a pro-shop (yes, there are pro-paintballers!); they have tech service and safety reps; they do corporate events & bithday parties; it is great for bachelor & special after-hours parties; they have a parents lounge (although this was a little skimpy & felt like a bunker); they will make a video of your group, or have a professional photographer capture the action . . . . . We had a fantastic time, a few bumps and bruises, and paint covered clothes (supposedly it washes out!) and we will be back to create another memorable afternoon . . . . next time we will hit the outdoors fields! read more

Bought some coupons from a promoter, I paid $20 for paint balls with the coupon. Regular price is $30 for field and rental fee. 2 indoor fields at this location plus they have outdoor fields open on the weekends up in Brighton. I haven't been to other Paintball places so I can't compare, but this is good place for starters. read more

I have been coming to the Denver location regularly for about 4 months now. I play airsoft and there is one field that is pretty small and tight. However, it is still really fun to play on. On top of that the staff is very friendly and has amazing customer service. If you're on the fence about coming in, swing by on a Thursday or Saturday and you will have a good time. Cant say enough about this place. Brought my 13 year old son for his first time here and second time playing airsoft. Walked I the door and was greeted by Kyle who was knowledgeable, patient and very friendly came to the seating area and we were immediately greeted by Bass. He was super helpful, polite and took my son under has wing. Bass took the time to introduce my son to some of his friends and had them look out for him during his first game. My experience here had to be the worst one yet! I wish I could give 0 stars. Lets start with the employees/owners of the facility. They were treating my kids and I really poorly and making racist remarks towards the color of our skin. The way they spoke to us was inhumane and made us feel small. The environment was dirty with water marks stained on the ceiling , uncleaned floors and safety concerns. Overall this was a humiliating experience. Think twice before coming here and wasting your time and money. I can't believe this place hasn't been shut down yet. read more

Don't waste your time at this place. This was by far the worst indoor paintball arena. First of all they say that the indoor arenas have AC, that's a joke. It was so hot in there and then having to put on all your gear made it worse. Second as soon as you walk into both arenas you're greeted with about an inch if not more of paintball goo all over the place. Not safe for running around, it's super slippery. Not only that, but overall the place was just dirty. Third the staff was not helpful, we had several first time players and they hardly went over how to handle the guns and pretty much left us by ourselves. We sat there for about 30min waiting around because we weren't told to head back and start. The guy helping us wasn't very through, he basically filled our tanks and sent us in. We also expecting to have a ref in the arena, there was literally no one. Lastly if you're looking for a family friendly place this is not it, the music they were playing didn't personally bother me but if I had little kids I wouldn't want them hearing the songs that were being played, highly inappropriate. There are far better more well maintained places to play paintball, don't waste you time or your money here. read more

Been here twice because of how much my guy friends in Denver loved it! I decided to dare myself and try it out. This place has two fields, one with blow up props (that has the snake and other fun objects to hide yourself to target and get your opponent in a good shooting position) and the muddy one with the metal style props. I played in both where both fun! this place does not get to crowded because it's a little bit hidden from all the other areas. The service was great! If you don't have a gun you may rent one and buy some pain for a price of about $50.00. A little pricey, so it's best if you buy your own gun in you are a player. The gun was a little stiff and you have to make sure it has enough air in the tank or else it won't shoot and you'll be a target in the field. I would wear something that would guard you well...I went home with bloody bruises on my first time and was really hurting while working. SUPER FUN though! read more

Wow - horrible customer service and rude lady at the front counter! I brought in a gun for repair and asked for an estimated time that it would be completed. She told me that the gun would be done in 2 to 3 weeks but sometimes sooner. After eight days I called in to check on the status and she informed me that the gun would not even be looked at for 2 to 3 weeks and that the repair person had decided to leave town to go to a airsoft tournament. I reminded her of our initial conversation where she promised completion in 2 to 3 weeks and she got very rude and belligerent telling me that she knows what she tells customers! She then went on to tell me that if that didn't work for me I should probably take my business elsewhere. Needless to say, I would strongly advise against doing business with this company. Very rude, arrogant, and are deceitful about timelines in order to get business in the door. read more

Man...after reading these glowing reviews, I'm thinking maybe we just had a bad day yesterday! (June, 2013). Maybe I was expecting wayyyy too much at American, but here are my thoughts. We took our 14 yoa nephew there for his first experience paint balling. I've done it a few times, but always at outdoor locations (maybe that's the difference?) There were four of us, we got there at noon sharp using a Groupon deal. There was only one other group there at the time, so we were able to get right on to one of the two fields. One field is that fake green grass stuff with blow-up obstacles. The other field is dirt, with pretty cool metal obstacles and a little shoot house. So...access was awesome (a huge group showed up when we were leaving...it still would have been a simple, short wait for a field, which is cool). Here's what we didn't really like. Field wise, the grass one was horrible. Now, I understand that we are shooting exploding paintballs and they have to explode all over something (besides my arse). You literally cannot walk without sticking to the floor. It was kinda' like seeing a movie at an Elvis Theater. Super gross. You can totally forget laying on the floor to snipe your wife or kid (sorry guys...) because you will be totally covered in several days worth of paint. And honestly, I have NO idea how they would clean the floor, except a pressure washer? But still, it was actually difficult to walk. The dirt field was better....but the obstacles had several days and an inch at least of paint building up on the obstacles. That's fine...I can handle it; however, when you rest your gun against the obstacle, it comes away totally covered in a huge layer of paint. This was no bueno for my gun...became slippery and I sorta' dropped it. Maybe that pressure washer could be used on a nightly bases? Again...I dunno what the cleaning process is...but the fields just seemed crazy. Another gripe: and yes, I went to the bathroom before I left home, but it would have been nice to wash up after playing for two hours. The restroom's water did not work....there was a bit of a trickle and that was it. Also, there were no paper towels (of course I didn't really need them...since there was no water. Also, there is NO way that restroom has been cleaned in several days...at least. Super nasty, stinky of all matter of fluids and solids. You smell what I'm cookin'.... Staff wise, they were very helpful if you needed anything. I can't imagine having a pizza party or something there. Just not feasible. Ok, so that's my thoughts on the place. Again, maybe it's because I'm used to outdoor fields. That's where I'll be sticking to in the future, and I'll be trying American's outdoor locations next month hopefully . read more

Waited for 3.5 hours for a game. Terrible guns had many problems in two games. Horrible management of many amount of people

Good people, fun games, very polite staff. We'll be back for more parties. Highly recommend.

Got a Groupon for their outdoor paintball package--good deal, essentially paid around $18/each. And overall, it was a good time and it was nice that we could choose to play only with our group or ask other smaller groups if we could join in (the larger groups were pretty anti-social). However, I would recommend Dynamic Paintball over this place. Here's why: -APC charges a $5 deposit for each player and requires reservations. (This is refundable or you may use it to buy more paintballs, but I still didn't like finding this out after already buying the Groupon.) -APC's listed address is NOT the right one for their outdoor paintball site. As such, all 6 of us drove to the indoor location then found out we had to drive another 25 minutes to get to the outdoor location in Brighton. Just put it on your website and/or tell your customers that when they book their reservations and save them some frustration! -APC does not give you a vest or pods. Pods are extremely helpful if you are trigger-happy on the field and run out during a game. At APC, you have to walk off the field to reload, which can definitely take away from a game. -APC didn't give a complete explanation of safety rules, which admittedly, I wouldn't have known if I hadn't already played paintball at Dynamic. -I completely understand the "play at your own risk" thing, but maybe APC should think about filling in the prairie dog holes at LEAST on the general walking paths. My friend and I both almost twisted our ankles falling into this one particularly deep hole. -The picnic table area doesn't provide enough shade. Other than that, I did like the fields because they had a lot of variety with planes, trucks, bunkers, shacks and giant spools laid out in different areas. read more

Dropped off my marker to be refurbished and two hpa tanks to be hydro tested on August 3rd. They couldn't work on my cocker until the following week, no problem. Gal said we'll get to the marker in the next week or two, no more than 2 weeks on the tanks. I played at their outdoor field on August 6th, first time I have played in a decade. It was great for the bachelor party that I was there with as we basically did our own thing. The field was not run very professionally though. The guys were super nice and fun to be around, but I wouldn't ever go there for an open game. I was the only person I saw chrono a marker all day. Games were run at our leisure, and refs kinda hung out in the middle of all fields rather than on any one field. I give the field 3 stars; it was fine, but nothing special. I returned to the shop September 7th to pick up my stuff, hoping to play this weekend. My tanks were tested, but it took the same gal that checked in my marker ten minutes to tell me that nobody has touched my marker, but hey we'll get to it. I live in the mountains, almost 90 minutes away from APC. I asked why nobody worked on it, she said they work on them in order they are taken in. Well, why did you tell me 1-2 weeks then? We only have one airsmith. Why didn't anybody call me to say that it was going to take 5 weeks to even get to it? Crickets... "that'll be $69 for the hydro testing." No sorry, no hey let me get my guy on it immediately, no hey let me make this right. No sorry for not calling you, no sorry for telling you 1-2 weeks when it would be 5. So, I'll find somebody else to repair my marker, or buy a new one from them, but I'll never be back to the American Paintball Coliseum. read more

Went here for my nephews birthday party! Had a blast and the staff was awesome I would highly recommend this place!

My son got a gift certificate for paintball, so we visited the outdoor field. First off, ignore Google or other map directions and follow the directions on their site. The GPS location isn't accurate but we kept going down the dirt road and found it. The place looks like an abandoned farm with a small sign on the fence. Lot's of junk around the parking lot and lots of prairie dog holes, everything is dirty and unmaintained. The guy at the trailer was helpful in getting things set up and the safety talk. Kind of concerning to see all the adult paramilitary types on the field with younger kids, but they pretty much assign everyone to their own field. The single official was no where around for 20 minutes plus, so we had to play on our own. I doubt that's the best safety practice. The fields have all sorts of small buildings, wooden spools, water boxes, etc to hide behind. The grass is very long, full of prairie dog holes and horse crap with lots of sharp splintered wood, broken glass, etc. Easy to get hurt with the limited visibility googles and getting shot at. This place is probably fine for experienced older paintball players but I wouldn't recommend for kids. read more

We walked in not knowing their hours, and even though they had closed laser tag 10 minutes before we arrived, Manuel reopened the area for us! The arena is reminiscent of a post-apocalyptic wasteland with lots of cool things to work around. I assume this area doubled as an air soft course since there were pellets everywhere (note to self: come back for air soft sometime) We were sweating bullets by the last round, and having a blast. Other arenas I've been to in the past catered to kids only, but this place is very adult-friendly. We'll definitely be back, and we'll make reservations next time. read more

Played the outdoor field with a decent sized group, many of whom were first timers. There was an utter lack of field safety and I'm not sure how this place is allowed to operate. We had ONE ref trying to cover 3 fields. Players were taking their masks off behind the netting everywhere. No ref in sight. The "safety talk" in the beginning was a joke. We had to try and run our own games since finding the single ref was like spotting sasquatch. Worst paintball field I've ever been to, which is really saying something since I've been to a stinker or two. I've played on and off for many years and I've never seen such an utter lack of care for player safety. On a side note there was cow or horse crap all over the fields. Perfect note to end this review on. Absolute crap. read more

I Hated the indoor airsoft. The wait was terrible averaging of a wait of 45 min and at one point me and my buddy waitted 2 hours to play a game. There are no refs in the games which could case less fights. There are no HPA locks. Ive been going to GoAirheads for awhile and they put HPA locks on. The HPA gun someone brought put some heat on those BBs. I mean i have been shot with a sniper rifle from the distance of the field on the forhead, but a submachine gun that has a little more power the a sniper is ridicules. read more

Do not play paintball at their indoor facility. The 1 referee they had could not control the groups and smaller children were being over shot and would take their masks off during the game. Multiple children came off the field crying. Players in groups would just walk on to the field and start a game without regard for other players. I went to the person in charge to see if anyone could do anything. He just apologized. Field safety is my biggest concern and they failed miserably. read more

As a group of mostly rookies, entering the fields was a bit intimidating! There were guys there with fully automatic guns, laser-sights and everything. I had no clue what I was doing. So I mainly stayed behind whatever object was the furthest in the back, to avoid being hit by my "friends"! Note: do NOT wear a bright red sweatshirt. And don't forget gloves. Of any sort. Yes, paintballs hurt, but only momentarily. The paintballs they provide are bright orange but filled with white paint which dries mostly clear and washes right out. $45 for a day of unlimited paintball? Well, until the paintballs run out, anyway. I think that's a great deal. The wash station came in handy when I got smacked in the face with a paintball... damn grease got all over the inside of my mask and I had to sit out a round to clean off. After eight bruises and a bloody nose, I'll be back... next time I want to go outside! read more

Words cannot describe how unbelievably horrible this hell-hole is. Short Review: DO NOT GO HERE. DANGEROUS AND UNPROFESSIONAL. GO TO BLITZ NORTH IN DACONO, OR DYNAMIC SOUTH IN AURORA, DYNAMIC BEING ONLY TEN MINUTES AWAY. Long Review: Today, a friend and I (both tournament players with many years under our belts) decided to take advantage of free entry passes we received, hoping to play speedball, as every outdoor field has their bunkers deflated for winter. The location of the building wasn't bad. This place is in a fairly industrial part of Denver, but I didn't feel any fear about parking my car outside. No complaints here. Everything went down hill as soon as we walked through the door. The cramped "pro-shop" is filled with old and dingy clothing and equipment that looks like they've been on the shelves (wire rack and counter) for years. The staff is young, apathetic, unaware, and lazy. The teenager who greeted us (by "greet" I mean walked up after staring at us for about thirty seconds while we obviously do not know where to go or who to talk to in order to enter). He took our waivers without checking them for accuracy or completeness. He did not ask for ID, charge us for entry (he didn't know we had passes), nothing. He just let us find our way into the "staging" area. I'm used to fields having a few dozen picnic tables for people to set down their gear and refill and so forth. There is 'one' table, and one counter that ran the length of one wall. The room was dark (more on that in a moment), the floor was absolutely coated in a thick layer of grease or oil (I almost slipped walking normally). Keep in mind, at this point the staff still has no real idea that we are there, has not charged us for entry, has not given us a safety speech (what if we were first timers?), nothing. At this point, my friend and I begin to realize that this may not exactly be the best field we've been to, so we decide to scope out the fields before we unpack our gear bags. To our surprise, the indoor facilities include one speedball field and one scenario field that combined are about as large as half a regulation speedball field. THE ROOM IS ALMOST COMPLETELY DARK. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD. The room was nearly pitch black with my mirrored mask lens, and almost just as dark with the naked eye. This is my largest concern. Inadequate lighting creates a very dangerous environment where players cannot safely see themselves, other players, or any hazards on the field. We could not look at the scenario field because there were two players already shooting (WITHOUT A REFEREE). We walked onto the speedball field and were horrified. The turf (if it even deserves to be called that anymore) is covered in a half-inch layer of old and decomposing paint. I could see clear imprints of our shoes on the ground. When attempting to walk, I had to struggle to pull my feet from the ground. The inflatable bunkers were also completely coated with white paint. This means they NEVER clean them because it takes quite a while for paint filling to turn white naturally. In our experience, paint that has aged to this point completely destroys any clothing that comes into contact with them. Even the safety netting was filfthy and sticky. It is with absolutely zero exaggeration when I saw the bathroom from the movie Saw was cleaner and better lit than this place. There were only four or five people there aside from the two staff members I saw, and I understand why. We got out of there as fast as we could walking on those greasy floors. We didn't even unpack. AND THIS PLACE CLAIMS TO SERVE FOOD. From a business standpoint, I cannot believe that they can run such a piss-poor operation and not yet have gone out of business. A dangerous facility run by an incompetent staff is an accident waiting to happen. Speaking as a paintballer, I am downright offended that these people can claim to be a place of paintball and offer such unbelievably sub-par quality service and environment to the public. I feel horrible for anybody who has played their first game of paintball here, play here regularly, or anybody who has even walked in the building. American Paintball Coliseum needs to be shut down. Immediately. PEOPLE IN THE DENVER AREA LOOKING TO PLAY PAINTBALL. FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST, YOUR SAFETY, AND YOUR ENJOYMENT, PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. GO TO BLITZ PAINTBALL UP NORTH IN DACONO OR GO TO DYNAMIC PAINTBALL SOUTHEAST IN AURORA. BOTH FIELDS ARE LIGHTYEARS BETTER THAN THIS EMBARRASMENT OF A FIELD IN EVERY RESPECT. read more

My social group, Front Range Meet Ups for Mutts & Such had a paintball excursion at the outdoor field of AMC and we had a great time! We were all first timers and were wary due to our inexperience and small size but we found lots of other groups who welcomed us to play against them and everyone was low key and ready to have fun vs. pulverizing us. The facility seemed pretty safe (except for lots of holes in the ground) and the staff was helpful and supportive. We came away with some gnarly welts on our bodies but we had a lot of fun in the process! read more

SOOOO much fun!!!! Through a "team-building" exercise, we decided to do some Air-Soft:) It hurts like a MOTHER, but I had a blast. The other ladies did NOT, decisively. This place is basically an old, dirty, warehouse that is half laser tag + airsoft half paintball. There are two small speedball style paintball fields and both are pretty unkept. The paintball side is not very well lit and it is dark already. Friendly staff but not a polished business.
