Came to Denver for a bachelor party and this was the highlight of the weekend. About a 30 minute rideshare transport north from the city. Plenty of parking if you're driving your POV. Staff is friendly and solid, even though I think they were pretty understaffed for the weekend crowds. They allow you to play private games with just your friends, but you may have to wait in line for the public games to be completed first (maybe 20-30 minutes in between games). Plenty of covered picnic benches to spread out and relax, unpack gear, and clean up. No lockers for your valuables though. Fields are VERY well developed and have fantastic terrain features and creative designs. They're HUGE fields with lots of options, so it definitely attracts the larger crowds in Denver. Prices for field paint are what you'd expect for this kind of facility - it's not cheap, but that's how they make the majority of their revenue, very reasonable. Plenty of free CO2 fills. There are upper and lower fields that are both well maintained. We played the "bachelor party game" at the end of our time that helped us clear the rest of our paint out - definitely recommended if you're here to celebrate your buddy. read more

What a great day at Blitz! Had my teenagers birthday here and the staff/refs could not have been better. They helped make sure everyone was safe but then let them have a great time. They took them to all the fields and created games and even scored them. The place is huge and can accommodate a lot of people at once and the fields are creative and well done. Had a great time with my sons, Ages 10, 17, 19 and 24. Parties of 5+ can opt for their $40 special which includes entrance fee, protective gear, gun rental, air and 500 bullets. They can accommodate over 400 guests so reservations are not required and you can easily walk-in. They have a bunch of outdoor fields to play and you have the option to play a private field amongst your party or the open fields among other players. Although they do have a snack/drink stand you can bring outside food & beverages. They have lots of tables and benches to chill between games or for guests who'd rather watch than play. This is a really nice paintball facility with a great staff that wants you to have fun, safely. The Sunday we were there, they ran one game at a time, with everyone able to join, all day long, with 5 minute breaks between games. The vast majority of games had re-spawn, so you got to play the whole time. Each game, the field location and game objective were different, so it never got boring. I'm only at 4 stars because there were few things that detracted: 1) Your rental marker (paintball gun) must be FULLY out of CO2 before they will refill it. This guarantees that you will run out of CO2 during live play. It happened to me twice. 2) The concession stand we were counting on for lunch wasn't ever open. Their website said " the main concession stand is closed during the winter months (approx. mid November - early March)". We were there in mid October. 3) The castle that is featured so prominently on their website was used only once during the day. We missed that game, having gone offsite for lunch. 4) Our rental masks' lenses were scratched up to the point of making it harder to see. 5) We were so outgunned by the 10-paintballs-per-second electric marker folks that it wasn't fun to play against them. And there were lots of them. A few notes for first-timers: 1) They offer a really good deal for two or four players on Groupon. 2) Wear sunscreen. 3) If you bring your own mask, it must have a chin-strap or it won't be allowed. 4) Except for special days, you have to buy and use the field's paint. We needed at least 1000 balls per person for the day. 5) Paintballs do hurt - briefly - so you may want to think about protecting your neck, the top of your head, and other areas that are exposed. You have to balance this against not getting too hot. There's no perfect answer! 6) Bring drinks and food; the snack bar may not be open! 7) You may want to put towels over your car seats for the drive home. I do recommend Blitz and I do think many people - you probably know who you are - will have a hell of a good time playing here. Give them a try! read more

This place has a lot of great paintball courses. The prices are pretty good too! Spent $48 for fun, mask and vest rentals in addition to 500 Shots. I am by no means a pro, nor do I enjoy speedball. So 500 was good for 4 rounds for me! I recommend if you have a large group like I did... to drive down the dirt road and hit up the private party courses. I have a feeling the (younger than I) paintball aficionados already know this is a great facility, based on the caliber of the player and gear that comes out for this--so I write this from the perspective of a novice 46-year-old dad playing with a novice 12-year-old son. Great playing fields, great service and staff, safety-minded (but not nearly to the point of overprotective: we're out here to be attentive and have a visceral experience), and a practiced flow to the games and the refereeing. The high list price is easily offset with cheaper Groupons and coupons found in other places. I've played twice: in 45 degrees with snow on the play field, and in 95 degrees with hard-packed dirt. Wear hiking boots in any case. There's food on site some summer days, but bring your own food and drink cooler. Even though there are some serious players in the mix, it is a friendly vibe and new and young players are welcomed and mentored. read more

I played at Blitz a couple weeks ago for the first time. I had something of a paintball addiction in high school, but had taken nearly a decade break from the sport. I was extremely impressed with Blitz. Fields and refs were stand-out. A couple friends rented equipment that preformed well. The fields were spacious, well laid out, and well maintained. There were a bit more rocks than my knees would've liked, but I'll know to wear knee pads next time. I played on the "urban combat field" and the "castle field". There was enough room for the 40-50 players playing the rec fields that day (a Saturday in late April) and the games never felt repetitive. The refs were the best and most professional I've seen at a paintball field. They were definitely on it with safety. I didn't see any 'fraidy-refs either. There was an adequate number of refs for each game and they were attentive to the players and games. They set varying scenarios for each game. The constant change in area of play and objectives kept it interesting even though we played the whole day on just one large field (with two distinct areas). My friends rented the standard Tippmans, which shot well all day without a single chopped ball. The paint was decent and at a decent price. The masks were an undeniable blemish in the rental gear. The lenses were definitely beyond their prime. I wound up purchasing a new one from the sparse pro shop so I'd be able to see. I'm not sure how the other renters could see enough to play, frankly. I had a great time re-wetting my paintball whistle. Overall, it was a very well run field. Parking and shade was adequate. The mood of the patrons was friendly. The quality of the reffing set a great tone for the day. I plan on going back. read more

Blitz Paintball is not the closest field to me but it has always been worth the drive. The staff was friendly, educational, and safety oriented. The owner of the establishment was friendly and personable. He took time out of his day to chat with my entire group about the sport! The prices are reasonable and comparable with the competition for rentals, paintballs, and entrance fees. I've gone numerous times and have never had a bad experience! I feel comfortable going with younger (13-15) kids and never have to worry about their safety or them being exposed to inappropriate behavior, Blitz has always been a family oriented environment with little profanity and a lot of safety. The staging area is clean and well stocked with benches, tables, and shade. The playing fields are what really makes blitz a memorable weekend, they are by far the best quality you will find in Colorado! Some even have Astro turf! I will continue making the drive up to Dacono to enjoy paintball and this fun & safe place to do it. read more

Although I haven't been here in a while I can confidently say that the staff was amazing, the field was well maintained (and huge, with a variety of types for private games), and great players. The players are friendly to those who rent equipment, and are willing to help if asked. AT MOST, I have witnessed minor arguments between players due to "I have shot you!" The one argument I have witnessed like that was quickly broken up by staff. The staff maintained professionalism and remained calm during that event. This IS NOT a hate to Blitz, I am pointing out that staff is ready to prevent arguments from escalating to something more severe. I'd highly recommend going to this field if anyone wants to play paintball. read more

I'm updating my review and bumping up the score. The owner has been very engaged and had a very good idea around helping with staff (adding name tags) that will not only help identify anyone who is less than polite but will probably increase the staff awareness as well. Maybe it was an off day, maybe I just saw the wrong moments. I was still not impressed with some of them that day but seeing the responsiveness of the field owner and taking steps to make it better has made me a believer. The field is nice and very large. My favorite part is, for a reasonable price, you can upgrade to nicer markers so, if I bring friends, they can shoot something a little more modern than the standard rental gear you find everywhere else. I do wish they would sometimes take the big group and break it into two smaller groups (sometimes... because sometimes the huge single game is a lot of fun too). read more

Great place for a good time and a legal way to get back at your friends and family! The courses are very well set up and easy to get through. The employees are very helpful and are always stressing how important safety is. We went here recently for my brothers birthday. We did a lot of research since most of the group had never been paintballing before and after some looking and calling around we decided that Blitz looked like the best option. After driving for an hour and paying over $300 I have never been SO disappointed. We wanted to take part in private play since all the guys that were there looked like the were professionals and incredibly intimidating. We loved paintball but the wait to get a field was ridiculous. However, I am fully aware that this is not the fault of Blitz since it was a Saturday. BUT it is their fault that multiple times when we were going to go on the field we were pushed out of the way by some of the regulars. Not only that but once we were followed on the field by some of the regulars WE were kicked off by the referee and told we would have to wait some more!! We had been first in line after waiting over 20 minutes!! Apparently the only people that matter here are the ones the referees know personally. After five hours and only getting to play three times everyone in the group decided they would rather just leave than try and wait around to be skipped again. If you are looking for a new place I suggest you look elsewhere. We have an upcoming birthday that we wanted to go play again... we will be going to adventure paintball this time. read more

Went there for my birthday with four of my friends and it was not nearly as good as it could be. The field does not look as good as the pictures. Most obstacles are rusty and have no paint but that is not an issue. The main complaint is the staff. If I were to give them a metaphor it would be the real loser kid in high school that finally got some power. They expected everyone to know all of the rules from the get-go and would make you sit out 30 minutes or do 10 push-ups if you did something they did not like. I did the push-ups but it didn't even matter because they wait at least 30 minutes between each game anyway so they can fool around with each other, complain about their job, or eat a burrito. I was in great company so it was fun but the staff could care less if anyone enjoyed themselves. read more

So just started playing here a few months back and the experience I've had here in the time I've played the sport has been great. The refs here are awesome and do a great job at keeping the games entertaining while also fair. Price is the best in Colorado for what you get and play for. Summer is fun because of speedball but in the offseason it's great for rec ball and family fun. Very cool place! It's HUGE! Very well regulated, and the referees display a genuine desire that everyone has fun, whether they're experienced or it's their first time. The new Blitz field is really world class, I'm extremely impressed. I played often at the old field and the new field is a huge improvement. As far as the facilities go it's easily the best paintball park in the state, and it caters to everyone. The field owner is honest and will answer questions from any of his customers. The main thing I really find appealing about Blitz is how serious they take safety. It's something anyone who plays paintball or has considered playing paintball is concerned about. I am not a "paintballer" but can honestly say don't waste your time anywhere else. I've been a few times, both as a newbie and bringing other newbies, and have always had a great experience. There is always a wide range of people here from first timers, to the expert level. No matter your level, you can have fun - you can join big groups, or stay in smaller ones until you get your bravery. The whole location is huge, and they keep it all incredibly clean, which is very impressive! This place is great! It is huge, has awesome courses, is well-run, and I did not see a single person that wasn't having tons of fun. The staff is very cool and obviously love what they do. Most importantly, they makes safety their number one priority. A couple simple ground rules and everyone is free to have a good time. We had a private party of mixed genders and experience levels and the staff made sure we all had a great time. I wish that there was the ability to do two different rankings. Our group had an incredible time overall at Blitz. For the most part the staff and refs were very helpful and accommodating. The fields were laid out really well. The public games had excellent scenarios and the large fields were a blast. The private game fields were also really fun. We had a group that was from all over the world and they all had a really good time. The challenge was that the day started off on a really bad note at rule orientation. I understand that the rules are very important for insurance reasons and for the safety and enjoyment of everyone present. However we were in a large group ranging from very young kids to college students to adults. The young man leading the orientation ( brim flipped up, long pony tail, green forearm protectors) was on of the most RUDE, Disrespectful and Unprofessional individuals I have ever encountered at a paintball field. I have been paint balling for twenty years and Airsoft for five years. I have been to some of the largest scenario battles in the US and few negative experiences I have had in those years compares to his behavior. I understand his job was a tough and important one. There were several people including a couple in my own group that were not paying strict attention to his instructions. However his response to their behavior would have gotten a player kicked out of Blitz and not allowed to come back. He belittled everyone there, he directly insulted several young kids, and then after making the entire group go through the rules twice which ended with Blitz telling its patrons that Blitz Employees try to create a "family friendly and safe environment" he let the group go. As the group was just starting to walk away he angry said "Jesus F@$king Christ that was F@&king ridiculous and stormed off to the staff tent. Our group spent almost $1000 there in a day and though they all loved paint balling the general consensus from the group was to not go back to Blitz again. Not because of the game play or the Refs on the field but because of the behavior of the employee at the start of the day. Amazing field, overall great people, equipment and facilities. Major bummer the day almost got ruined right from the start. Thankfully we recovered and ended up having a blast. 5 stars for Blitz. -50 stars for their orientation instructor. read more
