Cool rink design!
Holly C.

I like this roller skating rink much more than the Skate City locations. It felt roomier, especially since they didn't have walls up on the outside of the rink. But keep in mind, if you have a beginner skater, there is very little to hold on to for most of the way around the rink. I didn't see any walker-like thingys to assist younger skaters either, like they had at Skate City when I visited. There was a small area outside of the rink for younger or beginner skaters to learn. Really nice staff and they had a good food selection when I visited. It wasn't very crowded either. Lots of seating all the way around the rink. And they had a huge separate eating/party area with a few arcade games. It's a little far in Lakewood (across from the Belmar area) but it'll be my go to place from now on when my kid wants to roller skate.

Loved this place! Wednesday nights from 7-9pm is adult night, and wow... as a beginner I did not fit in but it's okay because vibes were high and it was a fun experience. There's a little side skating practice rink that you can use if you're really struggling (I was there most the time).

Wednesday Adult Night is my favorite day to skate from 7 PM to 10 PM. The Owner always makes my husband and I feel right at home. He is professional and his DJ skills are wicked. He knows all the best disco classics and the most modern music to play for his skaters. While staying on top of his employees. My husband and I are from Louisiana and trying to keep skating alive! We bring our own Harlick Roller Skates made in California, USA. For the past 10+ years we have made it our goal to skate in each state! We love to JAM, slow walk, free style, and couple dance skate on Adult Skate Night. Also, I enjoy a smooth hard wood floor to dance skate on. This skate floor is not wood. I am not sure what this floor is made from, it was smooth and BLUE. It is the best floor in the Denver area to practice for a competition. Though it was the busiest adult night, and the positive vibe was intoxicating. The crew here filled the floor. I mean wow what a night! This is a huge clean place to hold many large parties. There is a small practice floor by the food counter. If you are learning a new trick or have no clue how to skate. The Denver area is my favorite place to skate in AMERICA. To sum up this skate review 5 Stars for best Owner, Music, skate floors, and biggest crew!

I have never skated before and I could not think of a better introduction to it than the one I had at Roller City. During the morning hours of Saturday seems to be a pretty slow time here with a good amount of children. It's $5 a person for entry which is a steal for how good of a time it is (not to mention that it's a great workout). The staff will also very kindly show you how to skate if you ask or if you look like you're having trouble. I did not try any of the food or arcade games so cannot write regarding that. I will definitely be coming back.

Roller skating diva!

Don't have a good variety of skates. Only inline and regular. Should get more options.

This was a fun little outing in downtown Denver, right off the 16th street mall. The string lights…read moreand decorations (which aren't super visible in my photo) make this a very cute rink. A group of six of us went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was crowded, but we didn't have to wait long to get our skates. The way it works is that the ice skating rink is free, but you have to pay to rent skates. If you own your own skates, then, the experience is completely free! To rent skates, you wait outside in front of a little booth and get a wrist and then go to the window next to that one and say which size you'd like. Despite the rink being crowded, the wait for skates was very short. Service was friendly and efficient. The skates weren't the highest quality, and they use ski boot like buckles rather than laces, but I can't complain given the convenience and price. The ice rink gets smoothed over/cleaned using a Zamboni every so often, and when that happens, you can stand by fire pit stands (I'm not sure what they're called?) or sit on the benches right outside the rink. We stayed for about an hour and a half to two hours and had a good time. This is a great activity for families and friends alike!

I loved that it's outdoors and centrally located....Parking was the issue, but worth the walk.

There were several payment issues with the floor hockey league (as payments had to be sent back and forth between the two sites, apparently) that did get taken care of relatively hassle free -- but we shouldn't have had the issues in the first place. The softball league was mostly okay, except for the inconsistency of the refs. They say that if you sign up and want to be placed with a team they will place you with a team, effectively creating a team of free agents -- but they don't. You won't hear from them (although you can call their office and they're reasonably prompt about getting back to you) until just before your league starts, or if there is a problem. Communication from the coordinators is sparse but usually happens if there's a change in schedule or plans. The prices are okay, but feel a little steep for what you're getting. Like other rec organizing services in the area, they probably just don't have the capital to improve functionality and hire dedicated resources for all of their leagues. Overall, working with DSSC left a bad taste in my mouth. I will probably use them again, because I don't know of any other good rec organizations in the area (all the city/town sites seem like crap) but I'm just going to be prepared for headaches, inconsistency, and adjust my expectations about 45 degrees lower. Feel free to try DSSC, you'll probably get to play, but it won't be the best experience you ever had. Oh, and if you do sign up, make sure you've got a full team before you start. Don't count on any extras being on the site just raring to join a team, they don't have many.

I deal with a lot of vendors and I knew my same-day request (on a Saturday no less) would probably be met with cranky "not possible in the timeline" responses. Instead, I met Jolene on the other end of the phone. What a warm and positive person! She immediately took on my problems with grace and alacrity. She not only solved the heaters and blanket asks but also added so many details that I would never have thought of. Baskets to hold the blankets. Blankets tied with twine. Additional black napkins in case someone was wearing a dark outfit. Found local wines and beers. Just extremely thoughtful in everything she did. My event was not big or expensive.
