    Indoor court

What a little gem! So nice to play sand volleyball in the middle of winter! It was $10 a person. It looks like they have 6 courts inside and quite a few outside too. I will say it smells a little musty in there, but I'm sure that's just expected when you're playing volleyball in a warehouse in the winter. I didn't notice it after being in there for a few minutes. We had SO much fun it didn't bother me at all. We didn't stick around for drinks but they had great deals, I'll definitely be back!

Leagues are fun. Friendships that last a lifetime. Staff is great but no loyalty from the owner. Please be careful when you visit in the snowy months, parking lot is usually a sheet of ice.

Rental times aren't what you ACTUALLY get.

Wouldn't recommend. Their "court rental site" allows you to reserve late night courts from around 1030-45 till 1225. We weren't able to get on our court until 11. They kicked everyone out at 1148 tonight. What a waste of money. It has happened 3 times in last couple months. Our friends have been coming for over a year and are now going to find a new place to play. Don't waste your money unless you enjoy getting less than half the time you pay for. Also 10 minutes into us playing, they tried to move us to an outside wet court so they could close that half of the building. This place has gone downhill quick. Maybe hire some employees who don't mind working their full shift.

This place feels like home! I'm so thankful that I found The Island when I first moved to Denver! First of all, the volleyball is great. You can find someone to play with at almost any level, from not-so-good players to former college players, you can usually find a great match for your ability. Don't know anyone who plays at The Island? Email the owners and they should be able to get you set up! Not only does The Island have 6 indoor and two outdoor sand courts, but also they have a full restaurant and bar that is open late. The food is pretty awesome, too! From fish tacos to burgers and Cajun fries, their food never disappoints. Their bar is also relatively inexpensive and has some great options for beer and liquor. All in all, The Island is an awesome place for volleyball enthusiasts in the Denver area. I hope I can stay in Denver forever so I can continue to participate in this community!

The Lake House reopened during quarantine with many restrictions around food and social distancing, but we still had a blast. Parking was awful because the main entrance was blocked off, so we found a nearby school lot. It was a nice walk down to the marina. We headed straight to the bar and ordered White Claws and shots. Not sure if this is their typical alcohol selection or limited because of COVID-19. Either way, there was one bartender juggling all the patrons, and she was always friendly. Seating lined the outdoor patio facing the beach. My friend said there used to be live music here, but I guess we'll have to wait until the pandemic is over. For food, they only had basic hot dogs roasting in the oven and bags of chips. For how much we drank, I'm grateful there was anything. Overall it's a decent pub and a perfect spot to take the pups after a day in Cherry Creek park.

I've never had such a great experience with a venue as we had with The Curtis Ballroom. ALL the employees were above and beyond helpful, flexible, and super fast in responding to any question, any changes, just anything. We worked with a few different event planners which helps them be so fast. One person is out of office so another takes over. Brianna, Matt, and Tiffany were our coordinators along the way. Each one was efficient, helpful, courteous, flexible, and patient. We started with a basic contract, but it had to be amended a few times along the way... NO issue at all! SO accommodating! A reunion is hard to plan as people just don't want to pay or commit right away. This makes it hard for the committee to know how much food to order, how we're going to pay for all of this, etc. The fact that they were flexible was beyond helpful! There were many food choices and again they were so flexible with the picking and choosing of what to serve and how to serve it. Day of the event, they assisted us in decorating and making small changes. People loved the food. The bar was reasonably priced and had a decent selection! I thought this was nice as so often a venue bar has lackluster choices. All the people working the night of the event were smiling, happy, and once again... super helpful! I just can't thank them enough. I would highly recommend this place for any party/event and would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

It is said that they unveil a brand new theme each year and this year's theme appears to be focused on some Eastern cultures such as cherry blossom and bamboo forest with pandas. Not that I have been to many lights shows and yet I must say that I have never seen anything quite like this as far as my recollection is accurate. In its 12-acre land, the installations of lantern lights are everywhere. After 8:30pm or so when it's dark, the illuminations from the lanterns are glowing brighter than Las Vegas' illuminations (LOL - why am I comparing this to Las Vegas!!) According to the park's website, some of the sculptures are 23-foot tall (such as the cherry blossom gate.) It's currently open from Wednesday through Sunday until October 5th. And last night's was one of the adult-only nights where you must be 21+ to enter (I believe the next and last such night is Sept 17th. And this writing is as of late August of 2025.) I am already curious as to what the next year's theme is going to be. There is a centralized bar, some food vendors, a stage where a performer performs, and a DJ booth. Great for family time, girls' night or date night. Helpful staff were working tirelessly to assist all visitors. Although about 1,300 tickets were sold last night, it was never super jammed packed. There is still time to visit this enchanting light show. Not only for the locals but definitely one of the must-visit attractions for out-of-staters as well.
