No charge this time as they had an older one on the truck and I told them it was fine to use it (only difference was it wasn't as shiny or expensive as brand new). HPS isn't the cheapest but they are absolutely reliable and the office staff and pros are friendly and professional!

They came out again and this time used a camera to go into the main pipe and found a larger issue (collapsed pipe). We were told it would be up to 72 hours for an estimate. It took over a week to just get an estimate, despite calling multiple times (this was an emergency issue, our pipe had collapsed and our bathrooms kept overflowing with sewage water). In the meantime, we decided to contact another company, Hometown Plumbing. They came to our house within 22 hours, provided an estimate on the spot, and returned Monday morning to complete major work and pipe replacement. Meanwhile, we just heard back from HPS TODAY, over 10 days after the initial issue, and their quote was $6,000 higher than what we paid Hometown Plumbing. We are glad we didn't wait around and found a superior company to get the job done.

If I shut the system off for a while and turned it back on, it would sometimes work again--but the problem was inconsistent and difficult to reproduce. What really impressed me was South Valley AC & Heating's commitment to making it right. They came back out three additional times as a courtesy to diagnose the problem. The first two visits were challenging because the compressor was working normally when they arrived, so there wasn't an obvious issue to find. On the third visit, they happened to arrive while the compressor was acting up, which allowed them to identify and fix the problem. I really appreciated that they stood behind their work and didn't give up just because the issue was intermittent. They were professional, responsive, and genuinely wanted to make sure my AC was working properly before considering the job finished. It's easy to provide good service when the problem is obvious. It's much harder to stick with a customer through an intermittent issue, and that's exactly what South Valley AC & Heating did. I highly recommend them for their honesty, professionalism, and dedication to customer satisfaction.

They immediately noticed the open panel, closed and secured it properly, and fixed the issue without recommending that I replace the entire HVAC system. Based on my experience, I recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to replace your HVAC system. I was disappointed that such a basic issue was missed, and I'm glad I sought another opinion before making an expensive decision.
